La Sirenita ABQ

Being a fan of the old Quarters restaurant, I always wondered what happened to the classic property on Yale just north of stadium Drive. Well curiosity, killed the cat and satisfaction brought it back!La Sirenita is a little old style Mexico meets Quarters barbecue. Yes, that's actually what can be found on both sides of the menu here.Service was spot on, and the meal was very filling. A great "go to" whether you're heading to the airport, I Stokes game, Lobo, football game, logo, basketball, or just want a great meal

We're always on the search for both good Mexican and BBQ. To find a place that serves both is a bonus. With a La Sirenita would be a great name for a seafood place. First up was Chips & Jalapeño Salsa. Not as hot as you might think (it was really good). We opted for BBQ this trip. I ordered the Solo Plate 1/2lb tender brisket with a nice smokey flavor and fairly lean. It was surprisingly moist. The included Cole Slaw was sweet & Elote was well seasoned and covered with paprika & cojita cheese. My wife ordered the Brisket Sandwich whose flavor matched my plate. Not a fan of the BBQ Sauce. But the meat was able to stand on its own. Service was excellent, everyone was smiles and someone checked on us frequently. For this Texas boy it's some of the best BBQ Ive had since moving here! We'll have to be back to try the Mex side of the menu.

GREAT experience!!!! Staff is very very nice and the place is clean! Food is great with Mexican food and BB-Q. Check it out and you'll not be disappointed!

I grew up in Texas, so any time we see BBQ or hear about a BBQ place we are ready to give it a try. We were VERY pleasantly surprised. We had a place called Dos Chop Stix back home that was questionable at best so we went in not sure what to expect. The brisket was moist and not fatty. They provide a BBQ sauce that wasn't to our liking but the brisket didn't need it, which says a lot. The fries were fresh, warm and crispy. The cole slaw was delicious. We will be back to try the Mexican food side of the menu.

Given the high reviews I was pretty disappointed by this experience. I ordered the taco platter to share with carnitas, rice, and beans. The portions were very large. The pork was very dry and flavorless. The beans were very flavorless. The Mexican rice was very tasty and moist (some of the best I've had). The Jalapeño green sauce was absolutely amazing. Service was just fine and the atmosphere was a dark, low lit bar setting. I'm just visiting but I wouldn't go back.

La Sirenita also has a food truck, and I was excited to see who took over the old Quarters building on Yale & Avenida Cesar Chavez. To my surprise, not only did I get to sample their menu of asada tacos, but I got my fix of traditional Quarters hotlinks. Our waitress explained that the old owners gave them the recipe to keep it living on. Great local stop to support! Quarters was always one of the only places to go eat, and I'm excited to see that building open again for business. I love to sit in the bar side because it has so much history. One of the oldest horse shaped bars in Albuquerque, I believe.

Disappointed but I give it 2 stars for effort. The meat tasted old and the tortillas were not that great. I appreciated the customer service but would like to see more effort into the food .

Absolutely a must try!! Fresh birria is amazing and the Bbq is top notch. Can't beat the quality of food. Very friendly environment. Bar has TVs all around. Renee is amazing great service from all staff. If you havnt had you're missing out!!

Amazing food, amazing service.... Did I mention amazing food? It looks like a sketchy little dive bar from the outside but it's legit. I've only had a few meals that were so good it made me sad I finished them but this was one of them. The Taco Birria plate was fantastic. Do yourself a favor and stop by.

The food wasn't great. They crammed us into a booth that was very uncomfortable. No draft beers. Server was fine. Probably won't go back.
