Our daughter loves school! The warm staff helped her transition beautifully and keep us abreast with any updates. Parents are involved and the school helps to build community with events.

My daughter went here when she was 4 months old and I was very unhappy with the program. The teachers would not hold her when she was upset and cried, saying that she needs to learn to "self-soothe". They have no formal training on infant development and especially infant socio-emotional development. There were always subs so I had to leave my daughter with people I did not know. One of the subs did not even speak English. She left my baby unattended on top of a changing table and that was my last straw. The director Sarah does a good job of marketing the place and is kind of like a used car salesman. The campus is beautiful though.

I guess we'll never know how good this place could be. We moved from the Cincinnati area and had to jump into a daycare without much time to look and research. So after some research when we got settled in, I visited back in mid December since the current daycare my son was in at the time was getting crowded. We were looking for something more focused and relaxed. The facility is great and I was told there would be availability at the end of January. My son was supposedly placed on a at the top of the waiting list. Soon after, my wife called twice and left messages that she'd like to visit. Now they're closed during the holidays, but we assumed that a business would return a call. Apparently we assumed wrong. After the holidays, we called again and left another message. No call back yet. I had called another tow or three time but only got voicemail. So I called today and finally spoke to someone who informed me that there was no availability. She apologized that we were led to believe there would be but this begs the question: what we would we have done if we had pulled him from his current daycare in anticipation? They simply said that they didn't have the anticipated open seats because the anticipated openings never materialized. Again, no answer as to why we weren't called and informed. I might have loved to have had my child there but if the business office can't get it together ... we'll, I'll let you decide.

"Mommy, I want to go to school."We've always called it School, not Day Care. Our daughter, Iris, is quickly approaching four years of age and she's been with this great organization since she turned two. You can read my previous reviews on the place, we've always thought very highly of it, but recently the pleas from Iris-to send her to school-have become somewhat nauseating. Imagine how we feel when we're spending quality time, engaging with her, she's eating breakfast and all she wants to do is go to day care. Want proof that this place is stellar? Ask Iris. She'd type this review if she could.La Puerta provides, in our opinion, the perfect balance of care and education in a childcare industry that's quickly subjugating the Haves from the Have Nots. These days, parents seemingly have two choices: best and worst. Send your kid to the best and you're guaranteeing a bilingual experience with organic foods and the first of many loans you'll take out on their future education. Insanely expensive. And then you have the bottom, centers that pack the kids in by square footage and feed 'em slop. Where's the middle ground? La Puerta de los Ninos.Iris learns a little Spanish, eats plenty of healthy and often organic foods, plays like there's no tomorrow and thrives here. The price is fair. It's a non-profit, so you know the money's recirculating. Staffing is incredible, so's the facility. Five stars, guys. We're thrilled we found you.

My daughter just started at la puerta and I cannot say enough wonderful things about them. The staff is attentive, loving, and engaging. They serve the kiddos healthy food. There is an overwhelming sense of welcome when you visit and my daughter has never been happier (or more tuckered out! Bedtime is 8 now! A miracle!) Avery loves the play based learning and all the outside play. She's 20 months old. 3 teachers to 8 kids!I'm sure I'll have more to report after she's been there s while.

If you're looking for a daycare to get involved in your personal business you've found the right place. And unsanitary. I used to like this place. But don't take my word for it.

We looked at several preschools around town before deciding on La Puerta. Although there were many good schools closer to our home, we decided La Puerta was worth the extra drive time and we haven't regretted it for a second. The staff treats everyone like family and the teachers take the time to get to know each student, building relationships and finding the best ways to unlock each kid's skills and potential. They emphasize healthy eating, appreciation for nature, and lots of outdoor play, which are very important to us. And there are plenty of ways for parents and families to get and stay involved, from parent/teacher conferences to potlucks and fundraisers, and even a parent-staffed board of directors. Our child has flourished at La Puerta, and she, and we, have made life-long friends in the process. We highly recommend La Puerta de los Ninos.

This school is horrible with communication. Administrators rarely answer phone calls or emails and Sarah, the director is rude and unprofessional. She's good at selling the school to you during tours, but once you've started, it is nearly impossible to get information from teachers or other staff about your child. Everyone seems miserable here (the children and staff). It is an unwelcoming environment, despite the website's marketing.

Stay away. The director of this place is rude and seems to hate the job. We sent our daughter here for two months and had a terrible experience.

My daughter has been attending for 2 years and each classroom and teacher has been wonderful. They are deeply involved with the kids and have adapted easily when she had some medical issues.
