We didn't stay at the La Fonda hotel, but we visited this historic hotel and shopped and had brunch at the restaurant, which is located off the lobby in a multi-story atrium. The natural light, surrounding Southwest charm, and fountain make for a calm and enjoyable space in a very busy hotel.I had an omelet with avocado, onions and mushrooms, along with potatoes and toast. Everything was exceedingly tasty, all ingredients fresh. One of the better omelets I have had in both presentation and taste. Ketchup on request was served in small bowl (not ketchup bottle brought to table). Servers wore gloves and the service was exceptional (multiple servers attending to every need). The food and ambience surpassed my expectations, it's well-worth dining here even if you are not staying at the hotel.

The La Plazuela is located in the La Fonda hotel right off the lobby. The decor is very bright, cheerful and done in the local Southwest style. We had breakfast twice during our stay and lunch once. The food is delicious, and funny enough all three meals we ended up with the same server, and once he recognized us, he was very friendly and we had great service. The ambiance is nice, the fountain in the middle adds a very nice touch, and we sat next to the fountain once and it was lovely. The short rib tacos were really tasty and the shredded short rib was so tender it melted in your mouth. The tacos were served with green rice with pine nuts and black beans. For breakfast we enjoyed avocado toast, unlike any I have had. It was wheat bread with almond fig jam, arugula, avocado, onion and a scrambled egg on top. Mr. B had the Huevos Motulenos, two eggs over easy on top of two corn tortillas covered in Tomatillo salsa, Queso Fresco, black beans on the side and a delicious grilled plantain. It was so delicious I ordered it on our last morning and Mr. B went with the Breakfast Burrito which he said was wonderful. We have had many experiences with hotel restaurants that haven't always been the best, but La Plazuela was a welcome surprise and we highly recommend it.

Visited La Plazuela in mid-October right after the balloon festival with a large party of nine. We picked it on a whim while walking around the neighborhood, which was packed with tourists. The dining area is in a large atrium within the La Fonda hotel. A calming fountain sits in the center of the room, surrounded by two mid-size trees, stained glass windows, and various other classic Sante Fe-style architectural design elements. A stunning atmosphere, albeit in a very tourist setting. The wait staff was pretty attentive. I was impressed that they were able to sit a large party of nine with only about a ten-minute wait. The food was pretty good. My wife and I split the chicken enchiladas with green sauce and the French dip. Both were tasty. I preferred the enchiladas, my wife liked the French dip. I will say that it's not a great place for kids. Although there is a kids' menu, the items are overpriced and underwhelming--even by kids' meal standards. Overall a good meal, but next time I'm in Santa Fe I'll probably check out other options.

Stopped in for a cocktail and a snack after shopping all day. Time for some libations! The four of us had: a Makers Mark Manhattan neat, a Herrudura Margarita on the rocks, a Dos Equis and a Cucumber & Jalapeño Margarita up. All were well mixed, not overly strong, and very nicely garnished. We heard a stomach growl amongst a party so we order some sweet potato fries and the Short Rib Nachos---so good! The service was quick, attentive, and the setting in lobby of La Fonda can't be beat for ambiance. Also they have live music regularly so that increases the fun factor ten fold. Give them a try, and stay for dinner at La Plazuela. Four stars!

A Santa Fe favorite, La Plazuela doesn't disappoint. We had New Mexican choices-rellenos, a tamal, and flan. Can't say enough about how good the food was. We love the atmosphere in the heart of the classsic La Fonda hotel, surrounded by hand painted windows and a generally festive atmosphere.

We come to La Plazuela for 'special' breakfasts. We love their unique take on the eggs Benedict with tomatillos and roasted potatoes. Best in town. Their piñon pancakes are wonderful, too. We enjoy the attentive service and the surprisingly reasonable prices for such a lovely restaurant.

Located in the historic La Fonda Hotel, this was just about the only place that was open during a recent snowstorm that shut down most of Santa Fe. The La Fonda and their lunch restaurant La Plazuela was a welcome break. It is worth the visit just to see all the woodwork and the artwork in this historic building. Wow- this restaurant is stunningly spectacular to look at and even more special to take a while to enjoy a relaxed and delicious lunch. The tortilla soup was tasty with fresh chicken and a savory chicken stock and house made tortilla chips--a perfectly satisfying lunch on a cold day. Alyssia, our server, never missed a beat, she was attentive, friendly and clearly a very experienced server.

Came here for the enchiladas & ambiance, but of course the quality service too! My food was very satiating, exactly what I was craving. Although this was my 2nd time in Santa Fe, I was just passing through again (3yr later) on a roadtrip, & had yet to eat here. Our server congratulated us with a champagne toast, since I am moving states with my man.We also enjoyed the delicious sangrias

After wandering around downtown Santa Fe, we decided to do an early dinner at La Plazuela in Hotel La Fonda, right off the square. We were seated quickly and greeted by our server Judith who was very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed some of the specialty cocktails and ordered the table side guacamole, very tasty. We moved on to entrees, including green chili rellenos, tortilla soup and shredded chicken enchiladas. All were very good. The restaurant was a historic design with colorful stained glass, tasteful decor and traditional soft background music. Overall an outstanding experience. Definitely a repeater for us on our next visit to Santa Fe!
