Great store! Communities especially main streets are lucky to have stores like this in their district! I would highly recommend everyone who it is it's Nob Hill Main Street to stop in and visit the supermarket/co-op and see what you can fine. Anything from a quick snack to pull groceries to take back to your Airbnb. Also the service was amazing and the cashiers were very helpful. There's a parking lot in the back and also parking lot in the front so it's easy to find free parking when it is at this market. #groceries #snacks #colddrinks #lunchitems

I love their selection and quality. Good stuff. I get my seedlings from them and the co-op on Rio Grande.

If I lived in Albuquerque, I would shop here. And even though I don't live in ABQ, I still shopped here!La Montañita Co-op sits on the main strip of Route 66 in ABQ at the base of a tiny knob of a hill, whence comes the name, I guess. The inside is super clean and has a great selection of local or SW items that are perfect for tourists to take home as souvenirs. One of our best finds in that department was green chile-flavored nuts in a tiny burlap bag. So cute. I'll be back.

Pro tip ... sign up as a member, enjoy discount shopping in Feb and Oct, get produce that's as good as or better than Sprouts and other cool products, and support a local area business, But also be prepared for a bumpy ride at times in terms of service. Staff will occasionally act like they're doing you a huge favor just doing their actual jobs, depending on the individual or the department. This is too bad, because most of the team is reliably helpful and friendly, but prepare yourself for customer service experiences from time to time that will be breathlessly unpleasant. Not most of the time by far, but there's a fair chance this will happen.Still a great selection of organic foods locally sourced. But i'm left feeling disappointed after sticking up for them in my review a year ago. Lots of great staff interactions, but about 7 or 8 during the past year that have been not great to negative. The impression that they have high prices and rude or indifferent staff is starting to sink in now that i've shopped there for awhile, based on my experiences and experiences of a couple of friends. I'm a member, which supposedly makes me a co-owner since this is a co-op, but their responses to feedback from me on this have been confusing. They treat me more like a frequent shopper than a co-op member. This store could use a couple of in-stote seminars on -- consistency -- in customer service across -- all -- staff members -- and -- managers.

We love this co-op! Fresh produce, interesting snacks, friendly people. Bring your jars to fill with oils, soaps & more. Take home spices & herbs to refill empty containers at home.

Ayyyy!!! I'm all about supporting small businesses during a pandemic. Especially places taking the health of the community to heart, and still coming together to help us get fresh food from locally sourced farms. However, things I am not about:1) Someone condescendingly YELLING at me about my bags when I'm not even near the door. I' am grateful that they don't want cross-contamination, but "HEY! YOU CANT BRING THOSE IN HERE TAKE THEM BACK TO YOUR CAR" when I haven't even got near the entry is a big NOPE to me. Don't yell at me, I wasn't even 6ft from you door lady-bouncer, I was still by my car. But maybe you wanted to save me 5 steps?2) The way that produce is stacked they put the small stuff on top, which means if I want a big cabbage I HAVE TO touch more than just the one I'm buying. Frowned on in a pandemic, I know, but this store is getting off on turning the water spray on when people touch more than one product. 1st you should just have someone monitor rather than SOAK people AND waste water; 2nd have "small" "med" and "large" sections rather than force people to touch more than one thing; 3rd GROW UP- I get that people of ABQ might be touching every product thinking COVID-19 isn't real but when someone is masked, puts fresh gloves on at the door BY the "co-op-bouncer" then maybe they too are taking this $hit seriously and perhaps there is a reason out of their control for touching more than what they are gonna buy.3) Are you not paying your cashiers hazard pay??? I could have sworn you were or maybe I saw an ad thinking it was you and it's not. Nevertheless, the 20-something blonde with her gold silk-looking-Mortal-Combat-mask was RUDE, seemed bothered to be at work, and was more obsessed with the 3 Mohawk buns in her hair than customer service. 1/3 of the population is out of work, either she didn't want to be there or y'all aren't paying her enough to be there. Either way, I'd go to Walmart off San Mateo for nicer customer service (this goes for your ornery bouncer too).4) KUDOS on pre-packing items like portobello mushrooms, but you bought the most heavy and least recyclable plastic that WE the consumer have to pay for, as Miss-I-Hate-My-Job-But-Love-My-Hair explained we "pay for the cost of the container." FYI: I've never paid $11 for 2 raw portobellos- THAT is how heavy and wasteful your plastic choice is. 5) This place wasn't far off from Wholefoods, a place where for the price of 5 items is $80+!! Insane. I give you 2 stars because 1) you are open; 2) you source local; 3) you didn't have a line (but I can see why: I won't be back either).

What surprises me about this place is that it's a tenth of the size of other grocery stores but has a better selection of items I want! I've gone to stores that would cost me my Whole Paycheck and found nothing. Then, right after, I go into the Co-op and get just what I wanted! And the employees are also very nice there.

Deserves zero stars. Refused to accept a return. Mocking attitude about how I waited too long to return . Taking my dollar votes elsewhere and telling my everyone I know to avoid this place. Usually never return anything and have life membership. Bunch of miserly folks with unfresh looking vegetables and fruits and their sushi tastes like bubblegum

My cousin from California said we should stop by. He had made purchases there when he came to Albuquerque a few years ago. I've lived here for about 2 years and never been there so when in the location on Rio grande. I bought things like sourdough bread with no chemicals, no bad ingredients, nothing unhealthy but the flavor was amazing. I bought milk from a local dairy at the same price I would pay for milk in the grocery store that is far less healthy. The same milk at the other stores in town is about 70% higher.I suffer from severe inflammation and there are many things I cannot have. I purchased a bottle of grapeseed oil. The same bottle is $22 at whole foods. I paid $8. The store on Central is closer to me so I will try that location. I love this place. Does it cost more than the cheap stores? Yes but if you can't eat the ingredients in the garbage food, being able to spend less on quality ingredients is worthwhile. People who say it's expensive are the ones who eat all the processed food and care more about how much money they spend then they do about whether or not they are healthy.
