Service and customer service was POOR. Had service dog and permit but they still didn't understand what it meant and continued to repeat multiple times that animals not allowed. I heard you the 5th time. Waste of time.

I have no idea what a typical Mexican paleteria is like, but La Michoacana could be it! They have a wide range of snack foods from fruit to paletas to frito (and takis) pie. The place feels clean, though spartan and there has always been a nice crowd. The menu is primarily in Spanish but with enough English to help. We actually got a chuckle because the cashier told us our number of 54. We noticed all of the numbers were being read out in Spanish. So we're waiting, "cincuenta y dos... cincuenta y tres... fifty-four". When I went to get our food, I asked if they were told to say our number in English!Anyway, we've had their paletas before and they continue to be good. My wife's tres-leches was a bit too full of cake and not enough frozen cream but still really enjoyable. Especially since I just took hers and ordered her something different. My primary food was actually mango with chile and lemon juice. A bit pricey, but not unreasonable; especially for the amount of food.So if you're looking for some snacks, especially paletas, check them out.

The best of the best for Mexican snacks! All the typical aguas frescas you can think of! The best horchata and fruitas in town! They now serve some small snack sized food items. I recommend getting a grande fruitas a fresas con crema and s hot dog. The hot dog is loaded Mexican style and its mouth watering! Make the trip to the south valley for this gem!

Pretty good service, I ordered a Mangonada that was pretty big and it was only $4. Truly amazing beverage at a low price

I have been going to La Michoacana for about 15 years, way back to when they were in their old location on Central. This place has grown into a newly built building just west of their old spot. There is a second location as well. It is very clean and is run efficiently. Service is very good and friendly. The selection of Mexican snack style food items that include items like Doritos with chili inventions (like a take on frito pie, but different), fruit item snacks, Mexican style drinks (aguas), scoop ice cream deserts, and a large selection of Mexican styled ice cream bars (paletas), both creamy milk based and water based will satisfy many cravings. La Michoacana is different from just about all other food establishments in Albuquerque in a very good way. It offers a different experience that is based on a Mexican styled snack spot . Do yourself a favor and give La Michoacana a try, you will thank me later!
