Come here for great eats! They don't take reservations but the food is delicious and worth the wait! We got on the wait list around 6pm on a Saturday. We waited almost 2 hours. You can track how many tables are ahead of you using the link they text you when you check in. We left for about an hour and a half to run errands and came bank to wait outside. We were fine with a sitting at a table or at the bar. That likely got us seated sooner. We ended up at the bar. We ordered a few drinks:Mango margaritaOaxaca PalomaBoth were delicious! The chile clam chowder is not to be missed. It was simply amazing with chile! I would have been okay with more chile in the bowl. It comes with garlic bread and it was very good as well. The kale salad was simply perfect! It had toasted pecans, dried cranberries and Parmesan with vinaigrette. So good!We shared a 3 item combo platter with chile relleno, cheese enchilada and blue corn burrito. All were great!I highly recommend! Eat at the bar for the communal experience! Lisa was great for us!

Amazing!Great ambience in this spot - lots of little nooks. The servers, bartenders, hosts are all super friendly and easy going even when it's chaotically busy. They keep the calm and positive energy in the crowd. You'll walk out with a smile on your face!Great food, spicy deep soulful flavors. True NM food. Drinks menu has something for everyone, even those that want the spirit character to sing. The wait - well it's long all the time. But if you're saavy, polite, and plan ahead, maybe you'll also only wait 20min at prime seating time on a holiday weekend.

Definitely less than ideal on parking and the wait times, but there's a good reason. It's because La Choza is fantastic. Bring your patience and expect an experience with a drink or two on the front patio while you wait. Once we were inside the place seemed a lot roomier than it looked from the outside. Service and food did not disappoint. The staff makes a team effort to keep everyone happy, and it shows! To eat, we enjoyed fish tacos and chicken enchiladas (Christmas style). Both were solid choices. The sopas on the side were great too. We will be back.

Worth the wait.We waited 30 minutes for lunch on a Monday. They said it could be 45 minutes but they were able to make it happen. The Lyft and Uber drivers in Albuquerque advised us to come here. And now I now why.Real, authentic, made-from-scratch, New Mexico cuisine. Boom. The enchiladas, the chile rellenos, the pozole, the beans AND the star of it all...the chiles in all their forms of sauces and salsas.Service was super friendly, attentive, and consistent. Beautifully decorated and warm ambiance.Get the combo plate or try whatever your eye leads you. All roads lead to satisfaction here.

I mean, what's isn't there to say about La Choza. If you're a local you know it, you love it. If you're from out of town, put it on the list and know that's it's worth the wait. Some of the best New Mexican food I've had in a long time! Been here on a few occasions and tried the stuffed sopas, enchiladas, chile stew, posole, tamles, and more. Not once have I been disappointed or remotely unsatisfied. The staff has always been completely friendly and the atmosphere (even the waiting area outside) is to die for. 10/10 recommend.

Popular place, no reservations, so expect to wait for a table when you get there. Does not matter, weekday or the weekend. The mini bar near the front is a good spot to hang out. They have a lot of margaritas to choose from. I found the Mescal Margarita delicious and two of them helped pass the excessive wait time. Inside the place is festive with bright Mexican colors. Service is pretty good, if slow. The food is consistently average and reasonably priced. The combo plate of carne asada and a taco was very good. This is New Mexico so just about every dish comes with pozole. Since this is a sister restaurant to The Shed, many of the dishes share the same recipes. There is parking in their lot, but it can fill quickly so be aware. For all its popularity, the wait time was too long, the service slow and food was just average.

Oh my goodness! Such great food, quick service, and such an affordable price! Will absolutely come back next time in Santa Fe. No reservations allowed but the wait was less than stated and sitting outside under the warmers with a margarita was not a problems at all!

This is the restaurant I craze when I am back home thinking about delicious New Mexican cuisine. It is not fancy, the food doesn't always look amazing, but the taste and spice is always right on!
