I Previously gave this store 1 star for the following reasons listed below. I have just changed it to 5 stars because Today I received a phone call from Todd at the store. They have decided to send me a new sign to my new address. It was a very nice surprise as I had never expected to see it again. I am very grateful that they are replacing it. I would now definitely do business with them again and I learned a valuable lesson when using PayPal to definitely double check the auto fill information that they provide to retailers. (Previous review)I ordered a custom address sign and used PayPal to pay for it. We moved 3 weeks after ordering the sign but figured we would get tracking info and would be able to pick it up once delivered. Apparently they sent it a few days after we moved but never sent us tracking info. After waiting 6-8 weeks I called Kiva Lighting to find out why it was taking so long and they said they had shipped it a month ago. I went back to my old address and it was not there. No neighbors had found it and neither did the rental management company taking care of the property. Kiva said it's PayPal's fault. PayPal said it was kivas fault. Now I'm out $135.00 and I have NOTHING to show for it.I went back to Kiva after trying to fight it through PayPal and they offered to replace it at a 25%discount which would still be over $100 more than what I already spent. I am so beyond frustrated with both this company and PayPal.

I don't normally write reviews. But I am compelled to leave this review as a public service to other consumers to avoid the nightmare I've experienced for more than a year with this company. I've been doing projects with Steel Partners Lighting since 2018 and have spent tens of thousands of dollars with them. When Steel Partners was bought out by Kiva around 2021, I was originally excited that the legendary custom fabrication that Steel Partners was known for was seemingly going to live on with Kiva Lighting, which claims to be a custom lighting fabricator. For the last 18 months or so, I've been in direct contact with the company CEO, Sonia Torres, working on a custom lighting package for a multi-million-dollar home in the Adirondack Mountains of NY.I purchased many thousands of dollars worth of Steel Partners fixtures from Kiva in 2023. Many cages arrived crooked and without the necessary mounting flange that would allow secure installation of the fixtures.To their credit, Kiva promised to re-fabricate the fixtures per my design recommendations. But it literally took 9 months to get all the fixtures back and only after many dozens of texts and voicemails that were routinely ignored more MONTHS on end. But I did eventually get the replacements, and they were far better.In late 2023, I was forced to place an add-on order for approximately 1 dozen custom fixtures needed for an addition -- wanting to coordinate the lighting for the addition with the main house built a few years earlier.I have been jerked around for well over a year after having been promised on dozens of occasions that the custom CAD drawings were forthcoming so I could finalize the design and place the actual order needed to compete the project. I still don't have anything I need.Sadly, this company is horrifically mismanaged. They are an absolutely embarrassment to the greatness the name Steel Partners once represented. It has been, hands down, the singular worst customer service experience I've ever had in my life. Do yourself a favor, stay away from any of the many "brands" under the Kiva Lighting ownership umbrella. The company is an absolutely train wreck.

Tough review for me to leave. I almost never leave bad reviews. I'll make an exception in this case.1 - the products are exceptional (mostly, see below) ...and fairly priced to boot.2 - The wait time (which they do not disclose up front) was horrendous...3-4 months!3 - Customer Service is a name only with these guys.Story - We were designing and building a home in Arizona and wanted that 'Southwestern' look. We were happy to find this company through our online searches! We ordered (4) ceiling fans, (4) pendant lights, and a couple other items. When they FINALLY arrived, our electrician installed everything, but the living room fan had an issue with the blade mounts rubbing on the housing. No big deal, right? Most companies would instantly send out a new fan, especially after I sent a real-time video of the problem. After some time they did send some spacers. The problem changed, yet persisted. I sent another video. Jordan wanted me to disassemble the fan and send the motor back...What the heck - just send me a new fan, I spent a couple grand with you guys...! Nope, that would be too easy I guess.... I begged, I threatened, to no avail...Finally I took the fan apart myself, found the problem and corrected it. Fortunately I am a contractor so picked up a few skills over the years...but I would feel really bad for anyone that didn't. This company would literally leave you out in the cold.Zero customer service - so if you buy from them, beware and pray that you get products that work correctly. If you do, great, like I said, they make some cool stuff. But if you get a defective product....you're basically just screwed.Sad, this is exactly how perfectly decent companies go under.......

I live in Austin, Texas and am an alumni of The University of Texas, here. I have a nice library in my house and it lacked a chandelier / ceiling fan. I searched online for any western-themed and/or longhorn-themed fan light and by accident saw a picture of one on Pinterest. I then had to join Pinterest in order to see the pic, again. Somehow I then found a link to thesouthweststore which ultimately led me to Kiva Lighting in New Mexico. I then took a total risk and ordered this pricey fan, sight unseen (and therefore to the angst of my wife) and waited for it to arrive. The Kiva people sent me the EXACT thing I had hoped for and it ended up being far-better than I expected. I am 100% happy and satisfied and THRILLED to have found this company and this product. I admire this thing everyday. Kiva Lighting is awesome!

I ordered several light fixtures from Kiva Lighting. Their staff was extremely helpful and provided excellent support. I live in Guam and so I always appreciate when a company says Yes, We Ship To Guam! The products were well packed and arrived in perfect condition. Made a purchase a month ago from this company, never got the light. Called them and left multiple messages, sent multiple emails with no response. Please save yourself a headache and buy your lighting from somewhere else. Now Ive turned this claim over to American Express. Wish I had looked up reviews on them before purchasing, now we are behind schedule.

We recently purchased two custom light fixtures from Kiva lighting. First, let me say that we love these fixtures. It took almost two and a half months from the time we ordered but well worth the wait. They customized them just as requested and they fit right into our decor. The only reason we didn't give this company a five star rating is because of customer service. A customer's impression of a company comes from how they're treated by sale staff. Here's our impression. Sales: Deona was very friendly, and fairly new to the job. We knew what we wanted so our order was easy. Orders take 8-10 weeks, no problem for us. Eight weeks in, we were getting pretty excited so we decided to call to check on the progress. It took us three calls to reach the company because twice, the line disconnected when Deona put us on hold while she went to check the status. On our third try, she finally told us it would be another two weeks.Two weeks later, we called again and Deona was totally at a loss. She said our items had been shipped even though we had a balance due and had specified we would pick them up. She had made a mistake and found our order and they were indeed ready for pick up. We picked them up and were very pleased.Tragedy struck when we broke the lens. We tried to called them to get a replacement. Unfortunately, they close at 4:30 and it was Friday, so I left a message. They opened Monday at 9 am and we expected a call by 10. No call so I decided to call them. Deona answered and told me their parts department was closed on Mondays but they would be in Tuesday and she would get pricing and availability and call me with the details. I gave her my number again and reaffirmed that she call me as soon as she could. Today is Tuesday, no follow up phone call. We called again. We found Deona hadn't checked on anything. She sounded very embarrassed and said she would go check on it now and would get back to us in 30 minutes. Again, no call back so we then called her back and they had one. When we arrived, we were informed Deona was at lunch (2pm) and wasn't available. The part wasn't ready even though we told Deona we were on our way and would be there in 45 minutes. We talked to the owner about Deona's total disregard for customer service. His only reply was that she was new and still being trained. My question is....How long does it take to train someone to be thoughtful and courteous and follow through on calling a customer back? Our impression of the company and their products was a solid five but customer service was a hard two, we gave them the benefit of the doubt with a disgruntled four.

Over the past few years my wife and I have purchased multiple items from Kiva Lighting, and have always been entirely pleased with the appearance and the quality of what we received. Although I have looked, I have found no other business that provides the types of things they do. Also, their customer service is outstanding. We had a couple of small blips--anyone who thinks that there will never be issues in life is simply unrealistic. What is important is how issues are handled when they arise. The folks at Kiva Lighting bend over backwards to take care of their customers. Period. BTW, in all, we have 11 items from Kiva: 2 outside light fixtures, 2 bathroom light fixtures, 3 ceiling fans, 2 pendant lights, and 2 kitchen lights. We plan to buy a few more before we are done. Don't buy from anyone else until you check them out. Be aware that they don't build a lot of junk stuff and keep it in stock. Your order will be custom built according to your personal specifications. Yes, that means some lag time, but their products are worth waiting for...or you can buy lower quality items somewhere else and later wish you hadn't. Nobody but nobody produces the things they do.
