Kevin's Photography

One of the best wedding decisions we made, was using Kevin. Our wedding pictures came out STUNNING! Spring 2013 we took engagement pictures with Kevin in old town Albuquerque. Once we got the proofs back, we knew this is who we would hire for our wedding. What I really love about Kevin is how daring and creative he is. He ask my husband and I to stand on the ledge of a building for the perfect shot. As nervous as I was, I'm so happy we did it. We ended up with the most iconic wedding photo ever on top of the banquet loft building in downtown Albuquerque (photo attached). I highly recommend Kevin and his team.

The good, the bad, and the review...We used Kevin's for our wedding in September of 2014. They are fairly expensive, but we wanted to splurge on pictures because we felt they were very important. We got a lot of great pictures, don't get me wrong. However, we got zero close up face photos and zero pictures of our hands with our rings. Overall, the pictures that were taken were great, and a few were very exceptional at the Botanic Gardens. I did have to tell the photographer, (not Kevin) that we were "for sure" doing photos from across the water (this is the reason we chose Kevin's in the first place) even though he disagreed with me about it at first after our ceremony and during our couple shoot. I'm so glad we did because these turned out to be our favorite pictures of the day. Maybe he traded any close up pictures for across the water pictures in his mind time wise? He could have been stressed about time since we were running behind schedule. I will definitely take the blame for that one, though I'm sure most weddings run slightly behind schedule. I am disappointed that I don't have close up face pictures of me and my hubby on our special day. Also, I'll I don't have a traditional picture of our hands together with rings. I was hoping for some more artistic touches and special, quiet, romantic, serious moments. There were no plays on black and white with one color in the editing or anything like that. However, the across the water pictures are absolutely EXCEPTIONAL.I have mixed emotions about this review. Both exceptional photos, yet some missed moments also. I'm sure it's nearly impossible to remember everything in a limited amount of time.A HUGE plus is that the photographer was very kind, fun and made our bridal party and family feel relaxed... Especially during the reception. As a tip for any wedding photographer, I would definitely write down the EXACT photos you want in advance so you aren't left without something that's important to you. It's something you won't think of on your special day and you rely on the photographer to call most of the shots. There is stress on the photographer as well, so some things can just be forgotten. We didn't get to meet with our specific photographer to discuss what photos we really wanted before our wedding day. I did chat with him over the phone, but I should have been more proactive about meeting with him in person.Overall, some very exceptional photos and a good experience.

Tag line for this photography studio is "When you want the best." It is true . . . they are the best and primarily a wedding photography business, but I am sure that any event would be welcome. I recently went with "friends" to see their engagement pictures done by Kevin's. I figured there would be 20 or so photos to select from and probably only 5 - 10 would be really good. WRONG! There were at least 100 and 98 of them were fantastic! The next step was to decide which ones they wanted . . . I was really glad it wasn't my decision. After much debate and two cups of coffee for me, a decision was made.In addition to the incredible photography, the customer service (almost a bigger deal to me in any business) is wonderful. They left us alone to review the photos online and were there to help and answer questions when needed. As we walked in the door we were offered coffee or soft drinks. We never felt pressured or needing to move along for the next customers.One of the many highlights of this business is finding it. . . . the building is painted like a zebra . . . yes, a zebra! Driving down the street in Albuquerque, where everything is basically brown adobe colored, and then you come to a building painted like a zebra . . . . believe me you will NOT miss it. (I believe that THE Kevin has done a lot of photography in Africa . . . )I would unconditionally recommend Kevin's for any event, especially a wedding. If you are having a kid's birthday party, a promotion celebration, a 50th year anniversary, a baptismal, or any kind of family celebration - call Kevin's and make an appointment to go in and talk to them. You will not be disappointed.

Working with Kevin's Photography was an enjoyable and professional experience. I felt like I didn't need to worry about the photography at all. I hate having my picture taken and he made me at ease, the photos came out fantastic.This isn't a fly-by-night or part time studio. Kevin is a first-rate photographer with many years of experience.The customer service in the studio was great too. They helped me with all of my questions.I would highly recommend Kevin's Photography. I will be using them again for my daughter's up coming wedding.

I had looked around and around at so many places for the photographer for my wedding. I went to more wedding expos then I could count. Kevin's always had such a beautiful display & friendly staff to talk to and answer all my questions. The pictures were always so beautiful. I booked a free engagement session with them to feel them out. It was a beautiful fall afternoon in the bosque. I loved loved the way those came out!!!! When we decided to book them for the wedding I was so happy that April was going to spend the day with us. She had such a calm demeanor to her that when I had showen up late she was calm and walked me through what to do, and then wisked off to go take pictures of the guys. She was so lovely to be around all day and really had an eye to make the picture so beautiful. Every place we took pictures at was so lovely I have a hard time still picking out my favorite pictures.She made sure to capture all the important things that were happening including the La Marcha at the end. The best part vendor at my wedding was her as our photographer. She was kind and really helped the day have a flow to it. It was so wonderful having her be apart of our day! I would very highly recommend them for your wedding day.

Our photos were one of the few things that went PERFECTLY. April was polite, got all of the shots we wanted, was patient and understanding. Early on I expressed some concerns to April and she truly went above and beyond to make sure to address my concerns to ensure she was getting the best she could for us. She took control but I really didn't fee like she was overstepping or taking undue time away from the reception at all. Our photos are so amazing but the prices are great as well. My husband and I went to a few expos where we learned that Kevins for some reason has a reputation for being expensive but for what we wanted (the basic- experience & print packages) they were DEFINITELY the best decision.

Needed new business headshots. Arrived on time, was seen immediately, they were prepared for me. Listened to my needs, took the shots, showed me them, let me approve them, make suggestions on crop and retouching, and I was done. They are professional, experienced and very nice. I highly recommend them.

Kevin's Photography does take wonderful images. This review is not about the work from this studio.I just do not care for Kevin himself. He is a rude man and he made off-color jokes I did not appreciate. There are other photographers in town that doesn't have the ego Kevin has. I would rather pay more to be treated with some respect.

Kevin's photographed our daughter's wedding. The pictures turned out amazing!! Robert was very professional and fast. There was no standing around for hours waiting for the photographer. We got our money's worth.

Been using Kevin's Photography since 2006 with great results. He took engagement and wedding photos. He also took pregnancy photos, newborn/child pics, family, etc. sessions both in studio and outside. Every session has been outstanding. Prices are reasonable for sessions, photos, and copyrights. Highly recommend Kevin and staff.
