Coolest customer service demonstrating composure under "nightmare scenario" / customer from hell. I inadvertently took out a shelf at Joy Junction Thrift Shoppe the other night and the whole thing came crashing down with bits and pieces on the floor. Plates and cups and glasses. Just wanted to say spenza! No disrespect. Fully my bad. But Leslie, the manager of the store, and her Dude were on the scene cool as cucumbers and made me feel like it was no biggie. Anywhere else would've (quite justifiably) beat me with feather dusters, called me names, and made me cry after what I just did. And after what just happened, I wanted a beating. I needed one. Yo I had it coming. But no, they were so cool about my fiasco with the shelving not even one sideways word with me or any attitude whatsoever. The word professional doesn't even come close to describing staff's acumen and demeanor in a difficult moment at this store. Where I'm from, that's what we call putting on a clinic. After my incident I was motivated to make it right somehow and I'm glad I bought a pristine couch for my living room. Got a good price. And I scored an old school coffee percolator which I was super chuffed to get for $7. The couch looks great. I've gotten all kinds of compliments on it already and I make sure to point my people right back to the source of the goodnesss - Joy Junction Thrift Shoppe.

Never answered phones, returned messages. Only a robot message, can't understand how they stay in business, especially since they are a 501C chattery. Assistant s League is a better choice

Had a great experience. Came by to drop off some food and clothing after the shop had closed and were greeted by an very helpful and friendly security guard. She called the main office and asked if we could come in and drop things off before heading to the airport to catch a flight back home. We thanked her and told her we were grateful they were opening their doors after hours because we would rather donate the food and clothes we had instead of disposing of them. Consider donating or volunteering here!

This morning I was in the thrift shop for the first time. It's dirty. (Do you even wash the used clothing you sell?) And the woman at the checkout counter was incredibly rude (and not very intelligent either, so now I know why she works there). She didn't like something I said about Joy Junction -- that "the founder" drove a very expensive car, which was and is true -- he drove a very expensive car -- a Rolls Royce, I think), and she never shut up about defending JJ and "the founder". smh And I mean she never shut up -- she went on and on and on. I guess her Mommy didn't teach her any basic manners. She sure didn't know anything about customer service. Then when my credit card was declined -- ONLY because I didn't hit "accept" -- she loudly announced three times to the rest of the people in line that my card didn't go through -- NO doubt just to humiliate me. There are MUCH better thrift shops in town. I suggest Animal Humane and The Assistant League. Very clean. Lots of stuff. And employees and volunteers who know about customer service. Don't bother defending your employee, JJ. She was SO RUDE by anyone's definition of rude. smh Pls read all the other 1-star reviews here. smh Leslie, Sweetie, you can express yourself all you want. By your post, you've helped to prove my experience and post. Thank you! And so do all the other bad reviews here. Oh -- and thank you for your apology. Guess you don't have any basic manners either. smh Leslie, I don't care what you have to say. Just look at all the negative reviews, both here and on Google. You take care. smh

Manager was very very rude , judgmental and I believe racist. My family and I was going through a very difficult time of our life including not just homeless that we have never experienced but also the passing tragedy of my 8-year-old son that have been right before my 9-year-old son at the time of incident. So I was referring by the security guard across the street at Walmart that pointed me appointment meme the directions of the helping hands of Joy junction for clean clothing. Well I walked in while I was waiting for my mother to bring my son so he could receive his free clothing as soon as they walked in she right away changed her attitude her body language and said that we were no longer going to be able to receive any clothing because we weren't homeless mind you she had already picked out my clothing and had it waiting for me in the front behind the registry. I did purchase my daughter a set of clothing because you was not able to make it and as I go to the register she was no longer to be found and adrenaline help me that was very very nice and he plays the clothing in the bag that she had already picked out for me the second time yes the second time I watched her get the items behind the register and place it with pajamas. I am very thankful for anything that was for given to us of the kindness of anybody's heart. But with that being said I felt like just because we make it to take a shower everyday that she switched out the clothing for pajamas I guess to look like I rolled out of the tunnel I don't know but I do know it was after my colored Son walk through that door. And if I wasn't eligible and either was my mother or son why did I still get some pajamas? I really felt some type of way.... I recently went in there yesterday afternoon and I watched her attitude body language and then very nice clothes was picked for other homeless.... Mind you neither one of them was a colored person. But it will not stop me from praying for everyone including the manager there at Joy junction on menaul. Have a blessed day.

Absolutely the WORST thrift store in Albuquerque!! I was at the register when I noticed a defect in a pair of boots and told the guy I didn't want them. He refused to take them off my bill and the manager said they couldn't do anything about it. I was paying in cash and he hadn't even given my change back. I will not be back!!!
