I am planning to propose to the love of my life in September, and I was shopping for the ring back in May. I went to a bunch of Jewlery stores, I started off with the major chains. I had a very specific design in mind and I was shopping around for price, quality and confidence in the business who was making it. Most of the major jewlery chains had a lot of mixed reviews, and quite a few horror stories which scared me. Most of those jewlery stores didn't even make the custom rings themselves, they outsourced the whole project out of state, so not only did they quote longer waiting times but they also didn't have that personal touch I was hoping for. I know we're in the year 2023 where every purchase feels like Amazon buys but I really prefer the mom pop shops that Can wow you on service over the "ring mills" as I'm referring to the massive chains, that treat you like a number. Then I found John Thomas Jewlers. The experience was totally different. The difference could be felt from the moment I walked through the door. First, I was greeted with an assortment of Fiji water snacks soda etc. Next, I was asked about the details of what I would like in an engagement ring, they took me step by step, showed me the diamonds, the clarity differences, the cuts, the differences between lab grown and natural (which there wasn't much of a difference by the way), and the various sizes and shape of the stones. I learned more about diamonds than I ever thought was possible. None of the other jewlery chains gave me a Diamond education in that way, and the diamonds they had were nice but they were NOTHING like the unbelievable Diamond I got from John thomas Jewlers. I didn't post the actual ring picture because it was very personal and custom and I don't want to have everyone start making the same ring design because they saw it on Yelp haha, I know that sounds selfish but I spent months drawing and planning it out and taking my sketch to John thomas and working with their designer and then we did a wax mold after, a lot of work went into it. But I wanna tell you guys this, if I you can imagine it in your head, John thomas can make it a reality. They definitely knocked it out of the park. In addition to the service being better, the quality of the Diamond being better, the price was better too. I got a better product for a slightly lower price. I'll tell you one thing for sure, I'll never shop anywhere else again! When I picked up the ring, John thomas himself was attending to me. I felt privileged to get such personal service where the owner not only was finalizing my purchase but knew about my ring through every step of the process we went through. I just love how hands on he was. This is the kind of personal service that gets lost in larger chains. I wish I could give this business a million stars! P.S they have like a kids play room with what looks like a rock wall, it's cute, so you could come here with your kids while you shop and keep them entertained. I don't have kids yet but I still thought it was a cute touch to the store

The staff (Vaughn in particular) at John Thomas Jewelers is phenomenal. We got our engagement and wedding rings there. They were able to customize what we needed. The prices are competitive, and the customer service is well worth the price we paid. They made us feel like family. Since then, we have gone back to buy some smaller pieces and gifts and will continue to patronize them because of the wonderful experience we had.

My husband and I bought our wedding bands here after visiting several jewelers in the area. We were thoroughly impressed by Cristine's professionalism and knowledge. We walked out with two beautiful bands that we can't wait to wear forever.

Highly, highly recommend John, Michael, and their team! This is NOT your average jeweler. In addition to a beautiful selection, they have a custom design center. We upgraded my ring for an anniversary and I am in love with my one of a kind result! They took my original solitaire and reset it with two more diamonds and a halo. The end result is stunning and I love that my original stone remains. They teach you how to recognize your stones and all about the care and upkeep of your piece. Don't go anywhere else in Albuquerque!

This is our familys Jeweler. We have been doing business with them for a long time. They are knowledgeable, friendly and no sales pressure at all.We trust them so much that when my son was ready to propose to his now wife, we sent him to John Thomas.

John Thomas Jewelers blew away ALL expectations we had when looking for my engagement ring- great customer service, honest, friendly, professional, extensive knowledge & of course amazing prices! John & his team definitely know what they are doing. He helped my fiancé design my ring- I am in love with it & get compliments on it daily- his attention to detail on the final product was impeccable. We now bring all our jewelry/ watches to be serviced & cleaned here. This is a hidden gem as it is located inside an office building on the 3rd floor & once you arrive you must be buzzed in. This has allowed us to feel very safe as it is not a walk up store-front in a traditional shopping center or mall.

I bought my wedding vow renewal upgrade here over a decade ago and couldn't be happier with our choice. They've moved locations, and I've moved out of state, but they continue to service my diamond investment all these years later. I have recommended countless friends and family members to them and they have ALL been beyond satisfied. They even helped my niece's husband design a custom engagement ring for her. Even though I'm no longer local to Albuquerque, I always drop by when I'm in town visiting family to get my ring checked/serviced and say hello to the friendly staff. After visiting 6 other top rated jewelers I chose John Thomas. I feel the people here are genuinely trying to help you and care what you leave with. They're not pushy at all and seem to just chat people up. They have a large selection of rings to choose from or gather ideas to custom build you one. I never expected the ring buying experience to go so smoothly. Best place in town.

John and his team have practically become family at this point. This man has more knowledge than any jeweler I've met to date and has a very intuitive way of explaining it all because if you've ever been engagement ring shopping then you know it can be overwhelming. Not the case here they will take their time and make sure you get exactly what you're looking and at a fraction of the cost of other local jewelers. Now make no mistake this is one of those rare situations where you get exceptional prices and outstanding results the attention detail and customer service, you will pleasantly surprised. I would also like to take a few words to discuss something I read on the other post with regards to waiting to be seen. John's customer base is growing at an alarming rate due to referral and repeat business you will notice he is tucked away in an office building and does minimal advertising and yet they are always busy and expanding. Now there have been times where I had to walk in and take a seat for 5-10 min to be seen but with anything in high demand that's going to be the case I would almost be worried walking into a store with 4-5 sales reps and not a customer in sight. With that being said if you do happen to show up and they are with clients grab a chair and they will help asap. Also hand in hand with this statement once you are being seen you will have their undivided attention insuring the end product will be as close to perfection as possible.Another great fact they offer interest free financing options. I refer everyone I possibly can and that says a lot as I pride myself on having a large network being tho I have over 2k small to medium size business owners as clients so when I put my name on the line it means a lot. Alright well I could write forever about how happy I am but trust me when I say this is the best shop in town.

It was the reviews that got me to go to this place and wow! I was so impressed. I went in wanting to update my wedding ring. Worked with Cristine for weeks trying to decided what I wanted. She was so patient with me and my indecisiveness. She was so accommodating to all my last min changes and questions. She was quick to reply to all my emails and ideas. Everyone in the store was so nice. My ring looks amazing, me and my husband are over the moon with the results. This place will be the only place I shop for jewelry from here on out. Highly recommended.
