Inn on the Alameda

In town a few weeks ago. I wanted a margarita and a light snack so we stopped at Joe's. We could have our dog at the patio. It was really nice. We a few types of margaritas and the chips, guacamole and salsa. All yummy!

We came to Joe's Tequila Bar as a party of 3 on Friday at 6:30, and were able to be seated right away. Between the three of us, we split the Croquetas chorizo y queso. We loved this dish-we weren't expecting greens to come with it, but the dressing that was on the greens was AMAZING. The chorizo was great too. This dish rocks! I ordered the La tuna for my cocktail. Prickly pear and ginger was the margarita flavor I did not know I needed in my life. This was a definite win. We came in for a quick drink and a snack, but would definitely come back for more.

We downloaded the Santa Fe Margarita Trail map and this place super close. Great vibe and personable staff. Quick to notice us and I got service immediately even with the crowds. The signature margarita was called Sunset Trail. It included Anejo tequila, triple sec, grapefruit juice and agave nectar. Delicious. This was probably the best one we had all weekend.

Finished our appetizer before we got our margaritas. Service was very slow. Bartender was very rude to the waiter when we asked about our drinks.

Food was very good, great atmosphere and service commendable. Loved Jacquy! But for a place that supposedly specializes in tequila (hence the name) their margaritas were terrible. Very watered down. My wife ordered a spicy margarita and had to send it back both because there was zero spiciness and really no flavor at all. Believe me we hardly ever send anything back. Replaced it with more expensive Martha's margarita which was only slightly better. I ordered the Hay Jay which included mezcal. Where's the freaking lime juice. Still watered down. They should consider changing the name to Joe's water bar.

A nice find just steps away from Canyon Road. We found the place featuring small plates to be perfect for a leisurely, tasty break after poring over the galleries along Canyon Road. Patio or bar service--we liked the Spanish Colonial Revival style of the bar and chose that. Great service the entire time. We ordered the Croquetas con chorizo and queso fundido. They paired well together as the spicy chorizo pushed both dishes. The perfectly fried croquetas were served with a very tasty salad featuring red and green peppers. We took the corn tortillas of the queso, added some of the salad mix and ended up with our own blended tacos. Fun and delightful. Delicious too.Perhaps our creativity was spurred by the excellent and nicely blended house margaritas. Just saying!

This is the bar and patio attached to the Inn on Alameda. One of the most pleasant patios we have enjoyed. You might have to wait for a table, there are only about 6 available.Staff here is very friendly and attentive. They truly make this place special.Wife and I both had a nice beer to relax with, mine a Modela Negra.Wife opted for the cheeseburger, I went with tacos. Both meals were fine. Nothing special. I didn't care for my beans or tiny portion of rice, but the carne asada tacos were pretty good.Very, very relaxing atmosphere, that's what we hoped for! Other people were enjoying the house specialty margaritas, next time we'll try some as well.

The chips and salsa with guacamole were outstanding. The service was slow but it was dinner time so it was understandable. If you order enchiladas be mindful that the plate is scalding hot. Had to keep my fingers on my water glass most of the meal because my fingers tips were throbbing from having touched the plate. The food was fine but I didn't find it to be fantastic. Shrimp tasted bland. The margarita was underwhelming. I'm not sure if I should have picked one with flavors?? I just chose their standard one. The server was polite though so four stars for the server. Rated each of the dishes on the pics. Four meals came to 100. Felt overpriced for what we got. Must be a tourist stop because if I had to choose whether to eat here again I wouldn't.

We decided to eat here because we could walk from our condo. We did decide to sit outside in the courtyard and it was great. Our waiter was friendly and staff was attentive. We stuck with green chile sauce and it is spicy! The ritas help wash it down.

Delicious dinner tonight at Joe's Tequila Bar! Our large extended family group of 11 was very well taken care of! They were not taking reservations, but we did let them know of our group size ahead of time. They set up a special table for us upon arrival. Food and service were both great! Delicious chips and salsa, they brought 3 bowls so we would have plenty! In my immediate family, my husband and I each had a Paloma and our kids had sodas. I had the shrimp tacos without onions or rice, my husband had enchiladas. Our son had the beyond burger and potato chips and our daughter had a quesadilla. Everything was delicious!! Wasn't able to get pics of all the food, because we were a ravenous bunch!!Our whole group is staying at the attached Inn on Alameda for a weekend family reunion. Our experience, both at the hotel and dining area has been amazing!! Very friendly and attentive staff!! Great breakfast buffet as well! Next time we come to Santa Fe we will definitely stay and dine here!!
