Jo Ji's Sushi & Teppan Grill

Very surprised to see this place in business still. The sushi is flavorless, old and expensive. During my last visit I added a roll to my order when i got to the restaurant. I could loudly hear the cook saying he hated people like me for adding additional orders. I never said I was in a rush, I understand if it's going to take longer. I paid over $120 that night, and that's a lot of money for that type of treatment. I won't be back.

Service is inconsistent, cooks are great. I enjoy the lollipop roll and the food from the grill. Dining here is pricey and the food is usually good.

Used to be one of our favorite places to eat and get takeout(even though they never answer the phone) but it has gone so far downhill that we will not be eating there anymore. Not only have the prices gone up but the quality of the food has gone way down. The final straw was the last time we were there I ended up getting sick because of the sushi that didn't taste fresh at all.

Española is renowned for its New Mexican cuisine and a few restaurants here are easily tied for the best carne adovada in the universe. Only a great fool or a local would forgo one of these for sushi in this town.That said, Jo Ji's does not look impressive and as my namesake astutely mentions, it's not the classiest joint in town. The food, however, is great and I hope it doesn't suffer the same fate as so many restaurants in this economy.

Well it wasn't that good, I ordered the Eel and I couldn't taste it cuz there was so very little of it. It's more vegetarian stuff. And the rice was super super dry. Am guessing cuz it's the only place in town it would be ok.

Wife and I had the steak and shrimp. Portions were average to large, and food was good. We both had an appetizer that we liked. Just had water. Bill was 77 before tip.Service was good for new mexico (lower your expectation if not from New Mexico). Recommended for a celebration or if you are OK with with bills this high.

My rating is only based on the take out. Plates are reasonably priced and large. One plate serves 2. The food is tasty.

The dynamite mushrooms are a huge guilty pleasure of mine. The Joji roll is a fun monstrously large roll that is equal parts delicious and satisfying. Precovid times, I really enjoyed eating there with the cute American Asian style atmosphere presented in the dining room's decor. Hope they're doing well during all this. I do recommend the Las Vegas and Philadelphia rolls too

Well, we went in this evening and walked in to a long line of people waiting for a table. Was just two of us so we got seated quickly. However, no one came to take a drink order, or even notify us who our server would be. After 15 minutes of sitting with no attention or acknowledgment, we just got up and walked out. Bad night for them.
