Izmi Sushi Bar

We picked up lunch takeout today and were very happy with Izmi. I had the sushi platter and thought the spicy salmon roll and nigiri were all fresh and very good. My wife had the torched salmon and Alaska rolls and really liked both. We were anxious to try a sushi place in Santa Fe as we used to live in NYC and are used to high quality sushi - but Izmi met our expectations and we will definitely be returning! Best sushi we have had in NM.

This was the first time for my wife and me, as we dined with a party of 6. We all enjoyed the food. The Sashimi Salad (half order) was huge, with a nice assortment of fish and a great dressing. We split a few rolls (Super Crunch, Dancing Spider,Dragon Z), and all were very good. One person who doesn't eat Sushi had the Teriyaki Chicken and said it was very good. The Seaweed Salad was also very tasty. The food came quickly, and the service was great. For all the food, we thought the prices were quite affordable.

We love this place. Six of us for dinner in the night before Thanksgiving. No wait at 6pm. We got the last table. We ordered chicken katsu dinner for one of us and 9 specialty rolls for the other 5. Delicious! 2x Super crunchy roll, 2x red dragon, green chile roll 1, crunchy California, spider, baked Taos, can't remember the last. Super quick service, the rolls themselves were delicious, the katsu perfectly prepared. We also had the garlic edamame: never heard of this combo and it was great. Also agedashi tofu; with delightful spice, and a couple orders of gyoza: piping hot with a great dipping sauce. We have seen other less favorable reviews, and we're concerned, but we had a great meal here. Will definitely come again.

Solid rolls! We are really impressed for Sante Fe sushi. Would definitely return!Red on Red and Salmon Torched were tasty AF! Great service too.

Ughhh come on Santa Fe, do better ! This was take out. Veggie roll had something rancid in it and was totally flavorless. Teriyaki chicken was a watery stew of chicken and overcooked veggies. Icky, didn't eat it. Gyoza was good and Super crunchy roll was edible but the shrimp was flavorless. Overall, totally bland and lackluster. Bummed! Update:20 minutes later... my entire family is bloated and has gas...not cool.

3.5Its location is great while walking around the area. Service was good--quick and attentive. Some rolls like the crunch didn't taste extraordinarily different than most other sushi places. I think the dishes that reflected and incorporated elements of the local cuisine stood out more and were more memorable. I remember my sister liking the little spunk green chile two they had. Izmi was also a pleasant surprise! Not my favorite sushi restaurant, but the capturing of the local elements was really fun.

OH SO GOOD!! There were only two things keeping this joint from a 5. The hours were incorrect on their Yelp site. They are not open for lunch on Saturday but are open for supper. Also, they have this weird key strapped to a bowl for the ladies restroom which is tacked next to the front door. Not a good look. Those points aside, the restaurant is cozy, the vibe is local and the staff are super on point. We had some amazing rolls and all the fish was delectable. Keep in mind that this place is easy to walk by, but worth popping in for a bite!

Had the absolute worst service we've ever had in our lives. Party of two and it took nearly 20 minutes to get 1 cup of water. Didn't get a drink order taken until at least 30 minutes into the experience. Our server was very short with us and didn't seem to know what they were doing. Party of two next to us at the bar (who arrived after us) got drinks and apps way before us. We were given attitude not only by our server but by the older sushi chef behind the bar. Our server brought us part of our order while on the phone taking another order and didn't bother explaining which roll was which or saying anything at all. When we tried asking the sushi chef, he simply said "you got what you ordered" and handed us a nasty greasy receipt of our order. When it finally came time to cash out, no receipt or pen was offered, so at least the server knew not to expect a tip. The food was honestly pretty good, and the restaurant is beautiful in a great part of town, unfortunately the service completely ruined the experience and we will not be returning nor recommending this place.

We stumbled upon this quaint little sushi bar. Ended up spending 2 hours here and loved every bit of it!The yellowtail belly Nigiri was the best!!

Aku was our sushi chef at the bar....and he rocked. Made really good suggestions. We started with Yellow Tail collar, came with a wonderful, subtle sauce. We had many items, ended with the flown in fresh TODAY Big Eye Tuna sushi with Aku's secret recipe sauce. We'll be back!
