Over 2 weeks ago I submitted a request for an estimate to have the front and back brakes done and to replace the windshield.Unfortunately, no one could be bothered to respond. I was a bit surprised because I heard their ads on NPR and saw positive reviews for this business.Further, their website seem to encourage filling out an estimate form on the website rather than calling. I agreed with this method because I realize car repair businesses are generally overwhelmed. I waited a few days then a week and finally just let it go.I am sticking with my Volvo dealer. I wasted my time thinking this place was a professional business. If they can't even respond to a simple request, I wonder how professional, and whether they even would use genuine Volvo parts? No thanks, PASS.

I am very impressed with IVS. I am in and out of Albuquerque. I took my 2001 XC70 to this shop 4 years ago to have a minor repair. It was done very quickly and professionally.Since then I have taken my Volvo to them for major repairs. Pro shop. Good to Excellent. The techs are on top of the needed values and priorities of what needs to be done. The mechanics are all pros. The owner, Daniel , is the real deal. If you are not happy with what has been done , he makes sure it is correctedI take my Volvo to a shop in Santa Cruz and they were impressed with IVS as well. Top notch. No nonsense.

Good service. Decent pricing. They always have been able to get me in for an oil change when I was coming thru town. (Which is why I wait til I am!) The only complaint I have is that they have been slow to answer email appointment requests, so I just call.Amending this review since my car is hours late and everyone has successfully ignored us for 10minutes while we waited for an explanation without even greeting us.Amended again: Someone did finally come out and motivate someone else to finish my car. They comped the oil change, which was nice, but not as nice as getting out of here and on the road north more than 45 minutes ago (not into Friday afternoon traffic) when I stopped in 7 hours after dropping it off would have been.

Would not recommend. These guys recommended totally uneeded repairs, either to make a buck or because they just didn't really check it out. Either way, consumer beware. My passenger window looked to be off track, and (this is Albuquerque...you just can't have a car window left open) I had to get it taken somewhere, so we went to IVS. Sal, a service/sales guy @ IVS took it. We waited an hour and they called us, quoting about $200 for parts and $200 labor. "Apparently" my window motor and regulator were totally damaged/failed and I needed a new replacement. Something felt "off" about what they said needed to be done. They also said they couldn't move it back into place, even just to help keep my car from being exposed. Sal had very little interest in doing anything helpful/anything but selling. We decided to take it to Perfection Honda in Rio Rancho for a second/expert opinion. I called, and they recognized it was urgent/important, and had me come right in for service. They looked at it and thought on the spot it was only off track. Their tech took 20 minutes, and told me I only had a screw loose! No broken motor or anything! They were so kind and didn't even charge me for an easy repair. They just cares that I was satisfied. I am so glad I trusted my gut, got a 2nd opinion from a good shop, and stayed away from IVS/Sal the salesman. These days, no one wants to pay for a $400 repair that's totally unneeded. I even called IVS after I got it fixed just to make sure they knew for the future to take a second look. Sal told me that perfection probably just did a "patch" job, that his guys were right, AND for the cherry on top, that if I wanted it REALLY repaired that I should take it back to them. LOL! To get $400 of unneeded work on a window that works like a charm thanks to the reputable techs at Perfection? Perfection actually took the time to figure out what was wrong, repaired it, and saved me $400 I never had to spend in the first place. They proved that it wasn't broken. The proof is in the pudding. Consumers, stay far far away from IVS.

I've been taking cars here for years. Have always been satisfied. But recently there have been changes--sand not for the better. I needed basic service on my car--oil change, emissions test, battery test. They kept it for seven days. I called to check several times and was told they were still doing the battery test. Finally, I showed up and asked to get the car. While I was waiting, I watched them drive it into the service area and the employee working the office came in and said they needed to replace the battery and were doing that, at that point, and also doing the emissions test and it would take about an hour. I can only assume if I hadn't gone in and sat there, I'd still be waiting for the service to be done.

I went to this place for many years, but since the onset of the pandemic they've gone way downhill. Don't know if they've changed ownership or what, but terrible record keeping, overcharging, understaffed and the customer is always wrong. Done with IVS.

I am a disabled person that took my vehicle to get checked because of engine light. Met Mike, took my car and fixed it, he also went the extra mile for me. Second time took vehicle for other service, told me it was going to cost me another 900 dollars, ended up coming back because after second time, my light came back on, they first said it was my alternator, then it was the battery, I paid another 250 for battery, took vehicle, 2 months later I'm back because light on again. Left car there for 2 weeks with nothing done, just left outside parked. Paid 285 dollars just for I don't know what. The female at front desk informed me that I needed another alternator and belt for another 1900 dollars, I said I replaced belt, she said no it needs to be replaced. I left establishment angered, because of all the money I paid, remember I'm on disability, limited income. Well after I took vehicle, took it for an oil change, light went off, where's my 285 dollars? For storage?? I feel that they messed more with my car than repairing it. Be aware of money hungry, mongrels. I want my money back, I had noooo satisfaction. She has me do a false Google review, just so they look good. NO GOOD. BEWARE. I felt discriminated everytime after. Be careful this business claims that they can install paint protection film (ppf). I left my 2021 Corvette with Independent Vehicle Service for two weeks after they originally indicated it would be done within a week. When I was able to pickup up the car, edges of the ppf were already peeling/not adhering properly. Additional there were bubbles in the film and dirt trapped under the film. I was even told that the two installers they have, we're having g trouble with the creases and angles of the body. As I was requesting a refund and for them to remove the ppf. A Tesla owner came up to me and said that they were having the same problems with the ppf on their car.

I use to like them and they have done good work in the past but not the last time I went to them. It was my battery which was under warranty and they misdiagnosed another issue with my car. It turned out not to be a coolant tank but a much bigger issue. The owner sat on his computer while I spoke with another sales man and I use that term loosely. Never got involved. When I spoke with the owner on the phone he again did nothing to resolve the problem or give a discount for the bigger issue. I didn't need a coolant tank which I was charged $200 for.I would never take my Volvo there again. They take advantage of women or simply don't care to take care of their mistakes.
