Great little place for feed and other obscure items like, I don't know... live pigs to roast? Yup, this is where you go! Very friendly and helpful staff, especially if you suffer a bit from cityboyitis; they'll square you away. We were kickin off our (new to us) house warming party and needed a pig to roast. You go out back and select your pig and they'll have it slaughtered, cleaned & ready to rock for you. And they know exactly how to prep it for roasting purposes. They'll NOT split the chest cavity, but only gut it, pull the innards and have them ready to go with it, and it will be completely shaved. Not burned, but shaved clean.I showed up at 0700 on a Saturday morning and it was freshly slaughtered and ready to load into my truck. I really cannot say enough how cool these guys were. However, the slaughtering staff that early in the morning do not speak the best English, so be prepared for that. And, if you have a balance to pay that early, bring cash.In addition to feed & pigs, they have a nice selection of baby chicks, which we plan on returning for once the chicken coop is built. Great place, nice folk and they'll do you a solid.

I don't like to give bad reviews and only do if I feel it's really warranted. That said...IS&L claims they sell Ranchway Organic feed. There have been a small handful of times (like, 3 or 4) over the past year that I've gone in and they have had the feed in stock, but only a few bags. Those bags ALWAYS have their tags ripped off and the markings on the bags are never marked clearly (almost everyone had "starter" AND "layer" marked... Which one is it guys?). And sometimes, I'm not even sure they're giving me organic when they say it is (and I can't tell because the bags aren't marked properly!).However, anytime I want to buy it and it's not in stock (which is about 80% of the time), Joe says he'll order it and that it should be in on the next truck in a few days. When I go back in to pick up what I ordered, it's not there. The response I get from him is "I don't know... It was supposed to come today. But, I don't know..."Today is the straw that broke this camel's back. I went in again today (which was the 4th time in the last month) expecting to pick up the feed I asked for a month ago! I got this story about how Ranchway is sending them the wrong things, and they're not sending what they ordered and he just got off the phone with the regional director....Sorry, y'all, but why is it yours seems to be the only Ranchway distributor that has this problem? Every other store I've gone to has always had exactly what they ordered. Problem is, those other stores are a considerably longer drive than IF&L (which is almost literally in my backyard).I really WANT to like coming here. I really WANT to support the hyperlocal. But I have animals to feed and the reason I raise my own livestock is so that I can get meat that is raised in accordance with my values. Organic is one of those values. If I could afford to order a whole pallet at once, I would. If you won't order it because "it won't sell", say so. Don't drag people around. What I walk away feeling like is that either they're lying about ordering it or someone, somewhere is very incompetent.I know I won't bother trying to spend my money here any longer.
