I was visiting Santa Fe on my drive back from Taos. Stopped by this restaurant to get lunch. The naan looked flat and dead. The rice was from a few days ago. The mutter paneer all but had two pieces of paneer and the daal, I mean the water that had some daal in it looked like it had seen better days. So, I opted for a two tiny pieces of tandoors chicken (I mean that didn't look too bad) and some pieces of Kadhia chicken. I didn't touch the chicken tikka masala all it had was loads of cream and some left over pieces from the tandoori chicken. I had some grapes and papaya. And, that folks was not the end of the $20 buffet. Nope. I came down with perhaps the second worst food poisoning in my life. I am Indian and I should have known better but, silly me. I was just embracing a small business owner. First the health department should pay them a visit. Pretty sure something real nasty is going on. Second, patrons - do not eat the buffet. The temperature was not right of the food and thus cooked is from days ago. I do not recommend this horrible horrible horrible place that has me bending over even after three days ...

09/26/24 had guests who liked Indian food and on the top of it GARLIC NAAN. So this particular restaurant is close by . We had a horrible experience to the limit of getting our stomach upset and experience the rudeness of a person who answered the phone.Garlic Naan: with no Garlic and half cooked Navratan Korma: steamed vegetables put in a cream soup Chicken Tikka Masala: again, cubed chicken put in a cream soupNo spices, no salt, no complex taste, which is the essence of Indian cooking. We felt sick in stomach after eating. On the top, the current owner or whoever answers the phone , upon calling asked us rudely not to come to the restaurant anymore.Height of rudeness, that guy didn't have a courtesy to even listen to what we wanted to say! He hung up on us! Few months back my daughter had a same experience! I guess this particular business they don't know how to cook and how to be good with customers.

A clean calm environment to enjoy Indian food in Santa Fe. We went during their buffet on Saturday which was worth it! This way we got to try lots of different dishes. Packed full of flavor I left feeling full and content. We also got a mango lassi which was a nice addition to the savory food. I like my lassis a little thicker but still good. The service was great with constant water refills and polite waiters.

I love Mexican food, of which there is no shortage of in Santa Fe obviously. But you can only eat so much of it before you need a change. Fortunately I also love Indian food, which a bit harder to find in Santa Fe. Luckily for me the India House has me covered! The Chicken Tikka Masala was spiced perfectly! Paired with some awesome huge pieces of garlic naan I had all of my Indian Food desires happily covered. I am only sorry I didn't discover this place years ago. The price was right, the server friendly, and the decor spot on for an in dining experience.

Let's start with what's good about India House. The place is very clean and looks inviting. The staff is courteous and the food is fresh. We had rice, garlic naan, channa masala, a lentil soup, a chai tea and an eggplant dish. More than enough for a meal and to bring some home for later. Now, this place has problems... Pricing is higher than the average Indian restaurant by at least 20%. One might expect that they will live up to their claim of "fine dining" but they do not. It's good indian food but it's not great, and it's not fine. I've had worse, and I've also had better. Maybe the lunch buffet is where it's at? In any case, my hubby and I came during the evening and the food was fair but worth paying extra for. Furthermore, the chai tea was extremely bland. It was milk with a pinch of chai. It was the worst chai I've ever had, and I have had a lot of chai. I drank a couple of sips and left it on the side of the table. A waiter came by and asked if everything was good, and I explained that the chai was a bit bland, not really great. He just smiled and walked away. Alright... Very helpful. A person who seemed to be a manager came to wait on us at one point and asked the same question. I asked if it's possible to make the chai spicier because it's basically just a cup of hot milk. And he said he'll see if he can make it again. He then left. Alas, he never made it again. And at the end of it, I was charged for the hot milk. Food quality is important. But so is customer service. If your food is average but your customer service is impeccable, then your diners might forgive you and look the other way from time to time. But if your customer service is poor, or if you ignore issues brought up (twice) by your diners, then they won't look the other way, even if the rest of the food is alright. The moral of the story is, you can't ignore feedback and hope it goes away. It won't go away. It's here. Right now. Anyway, that's that! It's not a bad place but expect to pay more for average food and don't expect much if your meal or drink doesn't turn out the way it should. You get what you get at India House.

Our server was excellent. He seemed really happy with what he is doing. He took the initiative to recommend which lassi is better since I asked for one without sugar.Food was great except for the vegetable soup which seemed tasteless to me. I loved the tomato chutney and the coconut chutney. I would come back again if I had the chance.

I am a Britt and a bit of a foodie and really enjoy Indian food. The food at India house was as good as I've ever had including London. The restaurant is quite upscale with modern decor. The garlic was so different from the usual that is trotted everywhere. It was crispy and had a delicate flavor. The Naans was so fresh and delicious not dry at all. We shared the chicken tikka masala, which was simply delicious. The sauce was not too spicy and suitably rich. The staff were knowledgeable and courteous. This will become one of our favorite restaurants in Santa Fe.

We have been eating at India House over the years. We always found it to have the best Indian food in New Mexico. Now, their menu is even better. The flavors are clean and clear. And the ambience is great: From the moment you pass through the entrance, you will in enveloped in a wonderful aroma, your tastebuds aroused before you are even brought to a clean table in a bright dining room. The service is caring and undemanding. The meats are succulent, the vegetables just crisp enough, the spice intensity is up to you, the flavors perfect. For a party of two to a group of friends and family, this is the place to be.

American Indian, but large selection of food. My wife is gluten-free and she had no problem finding options. The non-and the Papa Don's were good.Price for reasonable I would recommend this restaurant
