Hunter Bower Lumber

Time for the summer project. Visited Hunter Bower and the team worked with me to understand my project and get the lumber needed to make my thought a reality... well at least the first step. They also cut wood too!

Here from out of town and needed big lumber, these guys know their business and the customer service is 10/10!

Needed pellets when everyone else in town was out. You pay in front office, then drive around. A very nice young man loaded the dozen bags for me. Didn't lift a finger! Explains why their pellets are double the price--it's Full Serve!! Lol.

Hi if you are wanting lumber go any were but Hunter Bower . there employees are rude and not help full . the product quality is low and they don't give a dam. If you don't like the lumber they get for you they will make you feel like an ass, them they will take there time to maybe make it right. bad bad bad place. go any were but here.

Have only been there once. Was shopping for a utility pole. Was told on the phone they had one, and they did, but it was in bad shape. There was an employee in the lumber yard that I tried to talk to. He had offered to help but didn't seem like he really wanted to. The poles we were looking at are spec'd to have a minimum of 6" diameter at the top. I was asking about the sizes and how much they tapered and he kept saying "6" top" like it was a mantra with him. I got it the first time and I knew if before arriving there. Any requests pretty much ended up with the same response, you know it, "6" top".I thanked him and said I didn't need his "help" any more.The unfortunate thing is they might be the only place in town that sells the poles but I think I will go with a steel pipe instead of the wood pole, partly due to that single poor experience.

When I'm working on a project, I like knowledgeable, friendly assistance. Local stores almost always provide this better than the big boxes. Hunter Bower Lumber is an excellent local place for efficient, kind service. I called first to check on the items I needed, and spoke to a real person on the phone right away. When I arrived at the store, I was helped promptly and with courtesy. Wonderful experience! Thank you, Hunter Bower Lumber!

I guess not much has changed. I see there's a review from seven years ago where the customer service was horrible and they were treated poorly. Had the same experience today! It is too bad. I try and shop local but I guess I'll go to a chain.

I purchased a laminated beam from Hunter Bower Lumber. They were extremely helpful and nice. The beam came in within a couple days and was delivered into my room for free. The beam is beautiful and came packaged very well. Was one of the best examples of customer service I've ever experienced.

For a non chain local specialty business, the customer service is bad, real bad. Apparently I was interacting with a high level employee. He was rude, not very helpful, and tried quite unsuccessfully to be funny. He came across as a wise ass. I will never step foot in the Hunter Bower Lumber store as long as I live.You can take your chance to see if your experience is better. Good luck.

They cut your lumber at no charge to the length needed (unlike Lowe's or Home Depot) which is a real, old-fashioned service. Hours are 7:29 am to 5:29 pm - don't show up late!Love these guys...
