Hot Air Balloonatics

Thank you to Buzz and his whole family and crew for giving us one of the best experiences of our lives! I can not recommend this more.We arrived around 6:30am to set up the balloon, and the ride took about an hour. I think our balloon was also one of the most beautiful ones up in the air with a rainbow of coWhen we landed we had some bubblies and cookies and hung out with the crew. Truly an eye-opening experience - you can't go wrong with Buzz!

Amazing experience with hot air Balloonatics. Husband and I went up with them on a whim because of covid and travel restrictions and wanted to do something Iocal in Albuquerque. Buzz and his grew were great to work with, 6 riders were on our ride. One of those riders proposed while up in the air and Buzz celebrated this special occasion with an extra bottle of champagne. He truly cares and is in it not for the money, but for the passion of ballooning. Would highly recommend this business! Their heart is in the right place!

We had such an amazing experience with Balloonatics. Buzz and his crew were extremely professional and went above and beyond to make sure that we were safe and comfortable during the entire trip. I would highly recommend booking your excursion with Buzz because there is a max capacity of 6 riders - other companies in the area will have up to 16 people riding in their baskets. I don't know about you but that just doesn't seem like a fun or intimate experience to me.

Great experience going up (finally) after living here watching people fly right over our house for 5 years!!It's a big splurge for us but my hubby used Groupon deal and got it as my birthday present. You can reserve your spot online and to be honest it was a bit stressful before the flight. I got a text and call to confirm a month before the date however I got another text last week while I was on vacation saying they haven't heard from me so they gave away my spot. It's very difficult to get time off work to do this so I made a reservation long before the date. I was devastated, stressed out and began to freak out... when I explained to them that I have spoken to them and replied to their texts, they assured me that they're going to make it workSo yesterday, the day before the flight I only got a VM to confirm (again) and at this point I wasn't even sure if I'm going or not. My hubby came to the rescue and called them, confirmed and got the direction to the meeting place. It was right across from my house! Ha! Readers, rest assured, that was the only of my experience. Once we got there's, every crew member introduced themselves and warmly welcomed us. Explained how it's going to go before, during, and after. We watched our balloon inflate with a powerful fan then with just a few gusts of hot air, it was upright. Before you know it it was time to climb aboard and we were up, up, up in the air!!Normally, we see these balloons going above our house moving towards south but today's wind took us northwest to Rio Rancho. I much prefer going towards open space vs middle of ABQ so I was happy. Buzz told us some geographical and historical info about the volcanic fissures, mountains, and vacant lots in the booniesThe ride is so peaceful and smooth. I didn't know what I expected but every time I've flown in my past was by airplane which is bumpy and noisy so it was surreally peaceful. Imagine FLOATING. That's exactly what I did today. I floated into morning air with added satisfaction to my secret pyromaniac traits with intermittent (Burners would understand)After a careful calculation and with the help of chase crew, a landing spot identified and secured. It was VERY smooth landing. I understand that it can be bumpy at times but the meticulously executed their perfect landing for us. I was "busy" filming the time lapse video of them folding up the balloon but you can help with any part of their prep and post process if you're not lazy like meThen we went to a nearby park for a customary "champagne" toast, balloonist's prayer (look this up. Excellent pilot, great ride, beautiful scenery from the air. Would do it again! Pilot had a great personality and could answer most questions.

What an experience! My mom got a ride as a gift for my husband, brother, father and I and we all had an amazing time. I was very nervous about being so high and exposed, but the ride was very calm and quiet. It was great just having the four off us and Buzz compared to the other balloons that have 12-16 people stuffed into them. Buzz is a great pilot with a lot of knowledge and fun and interesting facts about the areas you'll fly over. The chase crew was great too! Everyone was super nice and really let us make the experience our own. My husband enjoyed getting right into it and helping set up and take down the balloon. I recommend Buzz and his crew 100% and would do it again!

There a couple of points to bring up First one is big to me. We wanted to fly over the bosque and told that. Most of the balloons went to the bosque and the river. I really wish they chose to find the current to take us that way instead of going up so high and fast that it took us north west and flew over mostly over a flat and boring Mesa. That current was there, both of the balloons in the same takeoff spot went that way. Really a bummer to me because there was absolutely nothing to look at downward. Second, While they may think it's nice to tell people that all their crew are volunteers, it puts all of the responsibility to pay these people onto your passengers in the form of a tip. I felt like I needed to tip more because they weren't paying them, breakfast isn't payment and no matter how much somebody loves to do something payment is always appreciated. I know at $150 a person, there's room for crew payment. A tip is a form of appreciation not obligation. Third, you have your arm up on the controls of the balloon the whole time, my wife and mother-in-law tried to enjoy their first time ballooning experience only to get it taken away every so often by the smell of underarm stench, I smelt it also. We are in a small space, personal smells from the crew should be nonexistent. Fourth, this is just nitpicky, but at the end when you're serving champagne, you should always have orange juice there for Mamosas and give people the choice, or maybe they don't drink. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for many people, these points are very valid. If you can put somebody over the river try your best to do so, personal hygiene is important, and never expect your passengers to pay your crew. Your crew is important and putting a guilt trip on your passengers to do your job sucks.

Had the best balloon ride with Nick today! Have never been before but will definitely do again! There was just 1 other couple in the basket with us and Nick. Great views and it felt like you were floating on a cloud up there.

We flew with Buzz (Pilot) and Hot Air Baloonatics as a family of four. My spouse had already flown with Hot Air Baloonatics on a college friends' trip earlier and this time when we went for a family vacation to New Mexico, we reached out to Buzz and the team for our family adventure. The launch location was easy to get to, about 20 minutes from downtown/old town. We got to see and experience the initial set up and inflation of the envelope (balloon) and then had a great flight just after sunrise. We were in the air for about 50 minutes or so. Buzz was wonderful in explaining things about Ballooning as well as answering questions from the kids and us. We had a good landing and then off to a local park to celebrate the successful flight with champagne / sparkling cider / biscochitos and receiving our flight certificates. Buzz, Kari and the rest of the crew were wonderful and caring, and it felt like going on an adventure with friends. This is a small family run business, and we would heartily recommend them to our friends and family for their adventures in the Albuquerque area.
