I started my landlord experience with a local property management company based in Rio Rancho and then they retired and sold their business to HomeRiver Group. I will never work with this company again. My husband and I do not wish to own rental properties anymore because of our experience. The only form of communication we have with our agent is through email and even those take days to a week to receive a response. I have tried calling the main office to speak to someone else and I am transferred to our agent. This office is completely unprofessional and rude. Our agent disagrees with us on a regular basis. They do nothing while taking our money. I just went through a tenant moving out because we are moving back into the home, and he is arguing that the house is in excellent condition and all the damages are normal wear and tear. This tenant only lived there for a year. I have never lived in a house where I have black smudges on every wall. I don't understand if that is normal but we have to paint the entire house to just live in it but we are not getting money to fix it. Plus, we are not allowed to take the lock box off of the house with our key in it. We were informed through email that we have to pick up our keys from the local office. But the lease ended two days ago. So, when am I allowed access to the property I own?! If I was someone who owned property in Albuquerque Metro Area, I would not go with HomeRiver Group.
