Dragon roll ((eel) and shrimp tempura roll. And two cervezas...a Sapporo would have gone great, too bad it wasn't available!

Came in for 2nd lunch and had the dragon roll. Presentation was incredible but preparation was not. As the photo shows, the sauce had soaked completley through into the inside of the roll, making the whole dish taste only of the sauce...

I got sushi here and it was quite tasty! I enjoyed the spiciness of my salmon rolls. I also enjoyed the large amount of wasabi, soy sauce packets and pickled ginger included in my to go order. Thanks Hiro sushi!

Located at Sawmill. I've been wanting to try this place and it did not disappoint. We got the eel roll, and tempura shrimp roll, huge portions, they were both very good. I will definitely go back.

One of the best sushi restaurants in Albuquerque. A bit pricey but their special rolls are great! Inside Saw Mill Market so you just order at the counter and sit wherever. Service was fine.

My favorite place of all time when I go to Sawmill! I love how huge their rolls are! I just wish there was more variety and that I could order more than just one roll since they are super filling!

Honestly, not super impressed with Hiro. I love sushi and take it very seriously lol! With that said, Hiro was way overpriced (as most of Sawmill is for Albuquerque) so I did expect more from them. I ordered a rainbow roll, as that's my go-to to gauge the quality of a sushi restaurant (easy way to see if all the fish is fresh and if the rice is well made) For me, number 1: the roll was too big (if you really are sushi snob you know you should be able to fit a whole piece in your mouth lol) It took a couple bites to eat each piece. Number 2, the rice was soooooo sticky and gummy, it was actually hard to peel it off the paper it was served on.Number 3, there was not enough fish on it to justify the $21 price tag. It felt like it was half avocado, half fish. Most rainbow rolls cost about $15 at other places, and usually you get only one small section of avocado - so this was very disappointing. Overall, I think your money is worth spending at other places Inside Sawmill, not here unfortunately.

Charged extra for tempura on the sushi roll, then didn't include Wasabi. My first couple times here were great, but they are going downhill fast. Probably won't return.

I really like this sushi. I usually order the rainbow roll and ask them to change it up a bit to make it gluten free which they're good about doing. I feel like this place has better tasting sushi than a lot of other places in town however, the last couple of times we went there the service wasn't the best. I asked for my usual modifications and the person at the register had to keep asking the person making the sushi if it was ok to modify and they said yes like usual. Ever get the feeling you're really bothering someone? Well I felt like my asks were just a lot of trouble for them but I really wanted sushi so I let it go. One of my asks was for them to cut the pieces a little smaller and the girl taking my order said with a snark, "We can cut it into 10 but that's it." Whoah! I saw in a review below that someone else had a similar complaint about pieces being cut too big. My order came out wrong anyhow. Oh well. I sent my grandson back to ask for wasabi which they didn't put on it. My 10 year old grandson loves sushi and ended up eating a lot of my roll. We went back and ordered salmon sashimi for him. Sashimi is sliced raw fish. What we got was a 3x3 chunk of salmon thrown on the tray over a bunch of spring mix. Really??? What the hell? It looked awful. The stuff isn't cheap. The most expensive I've ever had and my rainbow roll had a LOT of avocado on it. Usually there's a little avocado but they really should have put more fish since the roll is $21. I think they may have lost a customer. I hope they read this review and get their service back up because I did like this place even with the higher price tag.

The people here were very kind. We ordered the sushi, but the machine system was down for cards and the cash machine was locked. We were about to walk away, but one of the workers told us that they will make our food, free of charge, since their machines were down. It was very nice of them. My husband gave them a pretty good tip since the people there were wonderful.
