Rashan has been blowing borosilicate glass in Albuquerque for over a decade. His expertise goes far beyond typical glass work. He draws inspiration from his surroundings, using the colors of the New Mexico desert. His craftsmanship is only surpassed by his character; a true artist in his own right. Not only a skilled glass blower, he mentors community youth teaching skills of the trade. One can be certain that any business given to Rashan and High Desert Flameworks is an investment in the community.

We came into albuquerque to watch the balloon festival and while on our down time we took up a Class at the shop. Kale was our instructor for the two hour class. Kale was a great teacher and made our first lesson a great experience! I think this is something I will find time to do in my spare time. He demonstrated the process and then let us try our hand at glass blowing. He knew when to step in and when to let us work through the learning process. I would recommend Kale's teaching to anyone who is interested in learning about glass blowing. Great guy, awesome little shop and the best part of my vacation!

I got to meet the whole crew who work crazy hours. Just one look in their eyes and I could see two things, they were exhausted but happy. They were doing what they loved!
