Visited Hays Honey and Apple Farm this week. Was such a wonderful trip out. He actually hosted us for a homeschool field trip. Mr. Hays was full of great information about bees and beekeeping. He is extremely knowledgeable after many years of experience. And so kind in spending time with his customers. He has a cute little shop and sells the most amazing honey in the state. Stop in and try it. My absolute favorite was the Mesquite. Full of flavor, it was number one for me!! He also sells beeswax products, honey gifts etc. They have 500 Apple trees of many different variety. All very good. I love the tart apples!!Support local farmers. Reap the health benefits of buying local honey and honey products!

Hays Honey and Apple Farm is a jewel. For starters, Mr. Hays is a doll. He knows his bees. that's for sure! He patiently provides education on beekeeping, if that's your thing. He has beekeeping supplies available for purchase. He offers education for field trips for homeschoolers. If you're in the market for local products for gifts, there's a wide array of honey, honey products and bees' wax items. There's beeswax candles (dripless!)...and they smell lovely. For me, this place is an absolute keeper!

Ken is a beekeeping and honey icon. He can answer any beekeeping question with enthusiasm. I love the whipped honey he sells in his store along with beeswax products, books and beekeeping supplies. Ask him and he'll give you a free bee sting .

An excellent source for local, raw honey and just about everything you could want to know about bees (and more!)Ken Hays, the owner, was the president of New Mexico Beekeeping Association for years and is one of only five remaining commercial beekeepers in the state. He keeps bees from Albuquerque to TorC. Stop in to get honey (white wildflower is my absolute favorite!), beeswax candles, or any number of other bee-related products. He's a chatty guy, so be prepared to hear about bees, politics, and healthy living! Those who are interested in beekeeping can't find a better place to start than here. He sells the basics you need at the lowest price around. He won't upsell you. You need just some basic boxes, a veil, a hive tool, and a book. He's got all that. And annually he hosts a big bee seminar and potluck where beekeepers of all experience levels can get their questions answered.Hays Honey & Apple Farm is an excellent local resource!
