Hayashi Japanese Steakhouse

We have eaten at the Hayashi Japanese Steakhouse twice and have had a wonderful experience both times. The service is always good and the chefs are well trained and very entertaining. The starter soup, I can live without. It's not very flavorful and not needed. The small tossed salad is also rather bland. The menu has many appetizers, sushi, and grilled options to choose from. Our party enjoyed filet and lobster, NY strip steak, salmon, and grilled vegetables. Each entree includes two shrimp, noodles, fried rice, and grilled vegetables. It's a ton of food for approximately $30 per person. We all had food to take home as well so the price is definitely worth it. Good quality meat and seafood also makes the difference when combined with expert preparation. We love this place and encourage you to give it a try if you are in Albuquerque.

Surprised the rating was low. I've been eating here since they opened and it's always been pretty good. Today came in with 12 folks and the service was pretty good, but one of our entrees didn't come. It was taken off the bill. The place has some private teppan rooms and that's pretty cool.

I am an out of town visitor from Southern California. My rating is on the sushi only. We did not eat the hibachi. For New Mexico I felt that the sushi was very good. It's not quite the standard I would get in Southern California. But the sushi rolls we had Were very good. The fish was fresh. The sushi rolls were imaginative. And the prices were reasonable. I recommend going to this place for sushi. I cannot comment on the hibachi grill. The service was outstanding. The waiter was constantly filling our waters, taking away empty plates. The main area of this restaurant are hibachi grills. The ambience was kind of playing. And the chefs cooking in front of the customers, or quiet. Normally in a place like this. It is very lively. If you want some good fresh sushi in New Mexico. Give this place a try.

Came here all the time as a kid before I moved states, and it's still as good as I remember. Hayashi is the reason why hibachi food is my favorite food, but I do have a few points to write: (1) they forgot my sauces with my salmon (2) not a fan of the peas/carrots in the rice. I do like peas/carrots in general, but the pieces are big enough that they detract from the otherwise perfection of hibachi fried rice. (3) Possibly worst of all, they didn't do the onion volcano :(

Went to Hayashi for our H date of the week. The food was amazing. The staff was attentive. Our chef at the grill was amazing. I ordered the habachi salmon and my husband ordered the beef teriyaki. We got a large portion of rice and noodles. It came with vegetables and two pieces of shrimp. It also came with soup and salad. The soup was hot and super tasty. We also order a King maki as an appetizer. We have leftovers for another meal. We will definetly be back. The price is a deal for what you get.

Been wanting to try this place but it gets pretty busy on the weekends. Finally got the chance to today! The layout is kind of weird where the regular dining area is almost wrapped around the hibachi section, but I like that it gives us more privacy. I ordered jalapeño bombers, sushi regular platter, and an order of octopus nigiri. They were all pretty good. My partner got the nabeyaki udon, and he said it was bland. 4 stars because it just wasn't amazing. It's not special enough for me to want to come back often.

White Lamb is the absolute best! He's a great cook and funny. Highly recommend! The food is great!

Always a great place for hibachi. Food is cooked before your eyes at the grill. The chefs are always friendly and courteous, they crack good jokes and always stay engaged with their guests. Service from Maria, our waitress was needing courtesy. Maria when thanked for her service would just turn and walk away without acknowledgment. Just unfriendly and kinda rude. The grill master was awesome and the food was great. If the wait staff are feeling like they don't want to work, please leave that energy at home so it doesn't ruin a n experience. 5stars for the food and the chef but 2 for the wait staff today.

Our party of 18 people had a great time. Hayashi staff are excellent hosts. The food was excellent. The service left a lasting impression. We will definitely go back.
