For those individuals that need mental help overall I would definitely recommend reaching out to Haven Behavioral Hospital. They have an amazing staff that care. You have a provider, nurse, doctor and social worker that will help you get on track. I had a bad experience with one social worker Devron. He was harsh and not the best person for me. I needed gentleness at the time but the director, provider, nurses and techs made a hard experience wonderful. I feel strong and hopeful. They also have various classes to help you. I made some awesome friendships. I am very grateful the experience and feel that they helped me ensure that I will never go back. They gave me tools to help myself and feel empowered to restart my life. Thank you.

I am a retired Physician. My aunt was recently hospitalized at this facility. I can only speak of my own experience ; and the care of my aunt.Apparently this Psychiatric Facility has no formal Physician oversight. In attempting to contact the Medical Director - I was told that I had to speak to the CEO. In Other words, the administrative CEO Nurse -is the de facto Medical Director. I found this unusual.I am the treatment guardian for my aunt. Somehow,my loved one was only seen by Nurses -No Psychiatrist was involved I her care or treatment plan. My aunt spent the first 3 days of her stay ; having NEVER seen a Nurse-Practitioner; or Physician! I couldn't even fathom this. - Mind you , this is on a locked Psychiatric unit. When I enquired further as to the care of my relative ; I was finally transferred, again to a dismissive CEO / "Nurse" ; who refused to acknowledge my concerns regarding quality of care and Physician involvement. I was told that the A&R staff assigns "care" to the patients. Ie not the Physicians, not the nurses but A&R staff.I will be taking further/formal action with this CEO in the future ; with the State Nursing Board. Please keep in mind my comments only reflect my experience. However, as a native of Albuquerque - who has since moved away; I find this model of "Acute Psychiatric Care" - Most disturbing ! Bottom line - keep a close eye on your loved one; and ask the CEO who the treating doctor is and how who made this determination.

if I could give this place a lower review I would! Do not believe anything they have on their website about visitation, how they want help from family members and what patients can have with them as well as besides 1 or 2 staff members the interaction I had with the staff was horrible. Rude, disrespectful and uncompassionate not only to the patients that are there for help but to their family members that are just trying to assist with their loved ones healing in a positive manner. Overall this place should not even be in the business of helping people who have behavioral issues as instead of helping they are hinding healing and only care about the money they are going to get!

They work all of their employees to the bone, which causes the employees to get burnt out and offer bad care. Everyone in administration is heartless and only cares about the bottom line. If you have a psychiatric emergency, consider going elsewhere.

I was a recent patient here and had never been in a mental health facility before. I was treated with dignity and respect and got the help I needed. All the staff were very kind and I was able to receive calls and use my phone for 1 hour daily.

Even I was discharged I was expected to make my own psych appointments I've been in other hospitals and they made sure I was taken care of before I left. You only get 7 days worth of medications so if you can get in anywhere which you can't in 7 days you're basically SOL I wish I could give this place 0 stars cause they don't even disserve 1. This place needs to be shut down permanently

would not send a loved one here. my husband was there following a suicide attempt last year. He would wake up to find other patients known to be violent in his room at night, they quadrupled the dosage of the med he overdosed on, they ignored dietary concerns repeatedly. I had him transferred to another hospital for his physical safety after he lost 20 pounds subsisting of of coffee tea and water. One star because it won't let me go lower

I was over medicated to the point that I can't remember 10 days of my stay. I was threatened by the nurses and they delivered. I never saw a psychiatrist. The nurses were a nightmare and no care except over medicating was given to me. This place needs to be CLOSED DOWN. I am the voice of the disenfranchised. Many patients have no resources to help them.

My daughter stayed here during the summer of 2018. The care was so-so; not very helpful. The billing has been a nightmare. She was unemployed at the time so she applied for financial assistance or to have a payment plan set up. No one at Haven ever got back to her; instead, Haven turned her bill over to a collection agency. She had no idea how much she owed and no one at Haven would take her calls - then a few days ago we received a letter from a collection agency (which will impact her credit rating). Good luck getting ahold of anyone at Haven; your calls all go to voice mail and no one ever bothers to call you back!
