Huge annual Lavendar festival. Music is pumping, lines are long, but good times nonetheless!

The Good: Where to begin? Amazing tennis courts, tons of them, well maintained. Two public racquetball courts! A fire station next door: during big events the staff sometimes bring out the truck and hose the kids. A building to host events. Several long grassy fields for sport. A SHADED PLAYGROUND! (Cottonwood trees, but they do the trick.) Widest bucket seat radius in the city. Tire swing and regular swings. Benches for parents. Large big kid play structure. The Bad: Tire swing is kinda lame-o. Black widow spotted beneath the play structure on two occasions (a reality in NM but come on, this is Los Ranchos, the "too good for Montano or Paseo" 'hood). Structure not good for kids 18 months or younger, and requires close supervision a while thereafter. Crappy cell phone reception on Sprint often means dropped calls. The Verdict: When the kid is old enough, this is a gem. Amazing what a little shade can do, alongside a neighborhood association who cares.

I've only been here for the annual Pride celebration. It's a cozy park with lots of parking, covered outdoor area and small playground. It seems like a great place for soccer games and weddings. There is not a whole lot of trees. If you're looking for that small country town feel embedded in the city, this is it!
