A regular stop for us. Food is always good, fresh and hot. Tasty lo mein and generous portions of the veggie plates. The lunch specials are economic and a good variety. If you order off the lunch special menu, be prepared to take home some food.

I called in a to go order for this place (which I think is fairly new) in a never-ending quest to find Chinese food my husband likes. We've tried over a dozen joints and even though I like them, he pushes them away. So all of my fingers and toes were crossed for this time. We ordered sweet and sour chicken, pad Thai w chicken and crab rangoons. Probably not the most authentic order, but I can never turn up a good pad Thai. When I showed up, there appeared to be only one gentleman cooking, serving, and running the joint. I only waited a few minutes before he came up with our entire order, piping hot. The dining area appeared to be clean and in good repair, but that's all I can speak to about the atmosphere. Now on to the food. The crab Rangoons had pieces of crab and green onion in the filling and were crispy and light. I finished the entire order on the way home. No dipping sauce needed. In addition, my husband raved about the light breading on the sweet and sour and said everything was fresh and well cooked. I couldn't finish more than a few bites of my pad Thai but if had a tangy heat to it that I loved. Everything was just as it should be, and a great value for the price. We will be back, and wish you much luck!

***RECOMMEND ***3/2023: NEW OWNER/MGMTRestaurant is located off of Rio Bravo and Isleta (across the street from Little Anita's and near Bank of America). Plenty of parking spots are available.Happy Asian Restaurant was not busy at my time of visit at 4p so I had time to look things over. I was greeted by Lexie, who was exceptionally friendly. She informed me that the restaurant had a new owner and asked if I liked the new concept. Lexie also asked if I needed to know about any ingredients that were in anything that I wanted to order and that it could be altered. Another friendly gentleman also assisted Lexie while I was there and seemed to be a great team. After reviewing the menu (pics attached), I ordered the pepper steak and made an ingredient change. To Go container came out within 5 - 7 mins. It was heavy! The food was tasty and hot.I will go back and try a different dish just to keep my food choices interesting.

I ordered four dinners to go, with an appetizer and 2 lg soups. I could barely carry the two bags of food, the portions are generous, the food is delicious and the owner is great! I will be a regular.

Happy Asian is a hidden gem in Albuquerque's South Valley. The restaurant is elegantly decorated and furnished and spotlessly clean. Their menu is extensive, with Thai as well as Chinese fare, and reasonably priced: Practically all the entrees are roughly $13. Even though there appeared to be only one employee in the entire restaurant, service was prompt. The food was excellent. The hot & sour soup was perfectly spiced, and egg rolls were piping hot. I enjoyed the happy family combo. The serving size was just right: more than I could eat in one sitting. The lack of extra plates made sharing difficult. My only quibble was that we did not get a fortune cookie at the end of our mail. (I thought that was like a zoning law for Chinese restaurants.) I really want this restaurant to succeed and hope more people will discover it in the future.

Hidden Gem! I should have tried this place sooner! The semi-empty parking lot always scared me. The service was excellent, and the food was even better! The new owners did not make many decor changes, but everything was clean, and now there's a sushi bar. I'm unsure when sushi is available, but it was unavailable when we went. I highly recommend it.
