Beautiful pottery. Amazing environment. Honor system. Tranquil. Integrity. Heart warming. Just a few ways I'd describe Hanselmann. I journeyed all the way to Corrales. Always worth the drive. I purchased two pieces for my wife's birthday. They will live in our household for the rest of our life. While not cheap the pieces are made with thought, love, and authenticity. The best part, no one talked to me while I shopped. I didn't even see another living soul. Love that for me. Now you go and have your own experience. You won't be disappointed.

Based on the concept alone, they get a good rating. The pottery is beautiful, the showroom is as well. If you appreciate hand made, local art that you can use to eat and drink from, this place is for you. We wound up buying a good amount of pottery and shipping it home to ourselves in NJ. Every time we use a bowl or cup from Hanselmann Pottery, it evokes great memories of our time spent in Corrales.Be sure to check out the half priced area in the far right corner of the store. There are some great finds there as well.

Such an incredible idea and place. All of the pottery is handmade and beautiful in a simplistic way. I loved the idea that it was all on an honor system - it just makes you have a little more faith in the world. I will definitely be back for Christmas gifts, housewarming presents, etc.

Okay, the pottery is beautiful. And affordable. And there is a great variety of vessels to choose from. But the MOST amazing thing about this local treasure is the way you make your purchase.When you walk in, no one is there. Ever. On purpose. They don't staff the store front -- they TRUST you. Once you have made your selections (one pattern features the most amazing purple, bronze, and sage green on taupe) you write down what you're taking, pay by writing down you method of payment on a sheet (and enclose a check if that's your choice) and put it all in an envelope in a locked box.I hope I'm not driving some wacko to do something horrible there, because losing this place would mean I couldn't get some truly extraordinary new home or wedding gifts.

What an amazing place, I'm looking forward to purchasing some of this handmade pottery.

love. i've lived in several major US cities, but the ABQ area continues to surprise me with one-of-a-kinds. HP is one of those finds. the pottery alone is 5 stars- beautiful shapes in soothing-to-look-at earth tones- no garish bright colors, flowers, or animals painted on. but then on top of that, you have this incredible honor system, where you just walk in at any hour (some night i'll test this by showing up at 2 am), choose your pieces, calculate tax (they provide calculators), drop off your payment (cash, check, credit card), and walk back out the door. amazing.
