I can't kvell enough about this business! Stan Burgh is an amazing human being and has the best guitars in Albuquerque especially since other businesses had closed down. If you don't want to give your hard earned money to the corporate owned Guitar Center, go see Stan. Ian, who closed down his repair shop, is back to do repairs and Eli, Stan's son is also amazing! If you want to learn how to play a guitar or improve your skills, GV has the finest guitar musicians who teach there. They're all personable! We can use a bit of that in the world.

Guitar stores and bike shops. Two businesses that I am extremely thankful to see opened. I'm also really happy to see just how busy either one can be these days. Even if it means I have to wait a week or more to get my gear back. " Just be thankful. Breathe. Breathe. Check your entitlement."GuitarVista. I have walked past this shop numerous times and never thought it would have been of use to me because I thought it was solely an acoustic guitar shop. WRONG!I bought a second hand acoustic guitar right before non-essential businesses closed up. The thing was in pretty rough shape. It hadn't seen a proper setup or a new set of strings in years. I classified it as basically unplayable but with potential. I was excited because I finally had a reason to visit GuitarVista. Then the COVID happened...Months later when non-essentials opened up for drop off/curbside service I contacted GuitarVista to see if they were open, if they did setups, and hopefully still in business. Stan responded and I set up an appointment for a setup.I walked in and learned right away that this is much more than an acoustic guitar shop. It's a full service stringed instrument shop. Electric guitars, amps, strings, banjos...I'm sure there's even more, but I didn't browse. I still feel weird about spending more time in stores than is necessary. I also need a new guitar like I need a new hole in my head.It gets better. A week or so later, I was attempting to put new strings on my Bigsby equipped Gretsch. I failed miserably. I called a different, well known shop in town to see about how long it would take to get a re-string. They said it would be probably two weeks. " Breathe. Breathe." I told the shop I was happy they were so busy (I actually was), hung up, and cried a little.I called GuitarVista again and asked if by chance they do restrings on electric guitars. I should have known the answer by now, but still had it in my head they were only an acoustic shop. Stan said they do restrings on electrics and he could have it back to me later in the week. Elation. So there I was. Dropping off two more guitars at a shop that I had spent so many months ignoring. An almost invisible little shop had now become the most important business in my life.Days later I got the call saying all three of my guitars were ready for pickup. Let me tell you, that basically unplayable acoustic was completely transformed. Beautiful work. Action lowered but no fret buzz. Great intonation. Cleaned and polished. I'm surprised that THIS was the guitar hiding under the rust and dust.My two electrics, professionally restrung and cleaned up. I wish I knew how to restring guitars properly, and at the same time I'm totally fine paying someone to do it if it means they come out this good every time. I'm so happy I finally went to GuitarVista. I can't wait until I can come back and browse their inventory.

Brought in an electric guitar that needed some wiring and other work. GuitarVista fixed my potentiometers (pots) and installed new tone and volume knobs. They went the extra mile with new strings. It was returned to me in great working conditions. Knowledgeable employees, fast turnaround time, reasonable prices, cozy location and excellent inventory of instruments, accessories, and accoutrements. Any string player should have this shop in their Rolodex.

This store is a must visit for any guitarist in ABQ. I was in town for business and happened to stop by. I ended up coming back two more times because of the friendly staff and excellent inventory of difficult to find guitars and amps.I ended up buying a guitar here after playing a bunch for about 6 hours. I had a technical question for a guitar tech before I was willing to purchase the guitar and the tech came in early just to help me out.Even if you aren't looking to buy a guitar, this place is worth a visit. It's obvious that this store was opened as a labor of love and it serves as a community hub for musicians. Stan's the man!

I was looking for a preamp for an upright bass, a rarity in ABQ. A well known guitar shop pointed me in the direction of Guitar Vista. They had exactly what I was looking for, gave me internet pricing. Preamp work out great. I highly recommend Guitar Vista!

This place is an ABQ gem. I dropped by today for a guitar repair and I ended up in a guitar jam session with a stranger while the owner encouraged our session. Wide range of guitars, fair pricing and very personalized service. Highly recommend.

Long ago, I burned out on guitar stores. Either they are noisy, soul-less, chains like Guitar Center, or overpriced, snooty affairs where you are treated badly unless you've proven yourself to the owner. I stopped going to them years ago, until a friend enthusiastically recommended GuitarVista. Stan was responsive to my emails, and when I walked in the store, he immediately put me at ease. He patiently answered my questions and allowed me to peruse the instruments. And what instruments! The store is jam-packed with the finest guitars and amps you will find anywhere. No junk. All gorgeous. At amazingly competitive prices. Honestly, had I not experienced it in person, I wouldn't have believed it. No hard sale - just shared knowledge from the owner. Believe the reviews. Take it from this skeptic that GuitarVista is a guitarist's treasure right here in Albuquerque.

I have had nothing but good experiences with Stan at Guitar Vista. He is kind, helpful and relaxed. I am a novice to guitar and have only felt respected as an interested musician. No pressure, and a surprisingly good selection of instruments.it is also locally owned and has good parking for the Nob Hill District.
