I got there early and waited with many others to get in. Senior admission was $2 and $5 for others. You need to buy FestBux tickets priced at $1 each to buy any food or drink items. I opted for Megsli Salata, a vegetarian salad for $10 and $2 for a can of Pepsi. Pepsi must have been a sponsor as they provided huge refrigeration units that were there for all the foods. The salad was nothing much to write home about. Skimpy on olives, but had 2 stuffed grape leaves. There were a lot of high school and UNM student volunteers, getting some community service in. The entertainment did not start for an hour. I recommend that they start it at 11 or 11:30, to get people pumped up and into the festival spirit. It was pretty quiet and not very festive that first hour. Also start some of the cooking lessons earlier or repeat them a couple of times during the daytime for those that miss the ones they want to see. There were a series of bounce houses to entertain the kids for $20 each child. On street parking was not an issue. Lots of spots in the neighborhood.

Opa!!! It's always a fantastic time at the annual Grecian Festival....so much time and effort go into the planning and execution of this event, and it truly is not only a mahvelous time, but an educational experience as well. Greek phrases alongside English translation for all of the food items & schedule of events. Language lessons, cooking lessons, dancing lessons, music *always look forward to hearing Aegean Sounds*, traditional dance performances from all age groups in colorful costumes, church tours, and of course, the marketplace featuring imported jewelry, clothing, gifts, art, pantry foods and fresh pastries. I'd love to see them bring in even more vendors!Speaking of pastries....Those sweet lil ladies that run the baked good section in the marketplace are sooooooooooooo adorable, I just want to squeeeeeeeze them. Year after year the pump out the Baklavá (and Chocolate Baklavá), Paximádia, Koulourákia, and that delicious sweet braided bread (Tsourékia) - The gyros are out of this world. All the food is noteworthy, the Roasted Lamb, the Chicken Souvláki , the Dolmádes and Spanakópita...you can't go wrong no matter what you order.Jumpers for the littles, beer on tap, greek coffee brewin', Lamb churnin on the spit, it's a joyful time in Albuquerque and you can't beat the time of year!

Great fun was had by all. We were on a marathon weekend getting blue corn pancakes, the Greek fest, a movie, Dion's, and back on the plane all in the same day. Everything was very well-organized, as they had buses ready to go, maps, and information pamphlets. The food was a little on the pricey side, but great (souvlaki, Greek salad gyros). Oh, the baklava! They had tours of the church, dancers, games for the kids, and selling everything from candles to soaps inside. This would be an event I would definitely return to

I had an absolutely amazing time at the Greek Festival last week. I was invited by a friend who is Greek herself and was dancing in the performances, so I made sure to stay long enough to catch the dancers twice. Boy am I glad I did! The first time, the dancing was great, absolutely beautiful and fascinating. The second time, they really pulled out all the stops and I was completely blown away! They had some of the young men doing flips, standing precariously on top of upright wine bottles, various feats of skill and agility, it was so cool! I was talking about it later with my friend and her family and they said that they typically save their very best performances for the last show of the day, so file that information away for next year! We also took a lesson in Greek language - just some basics, but it was a really enjoyable run through, and we toured the very beautiful Orthodox Church. We didn't have a chance to take a cooking or dance lesson, but they were available at certain times as well. And then, the food. Good lord, the food! Everything was so delicious that I wish I had two stomachs so I could eat more! We had an absolutely perfect gyro, some lamb and rice that I've forgotten the Greek name for, tasted regular and chocolate baclava, and even Greek wine and beer! Everything was absolutely amazing, I wish there was a Greek Festival once a month! I can't wait to come back next year!

I'll apologize before hand but I compare everything to NY. With that said I was disappointed that there was an entrance fee. The food was pricey for the portions. I felt like i was eating church food and paying twice as much, just because it is a "festival." On the other hand, the dancing in the middle of the place was pretty cute. I actually sat down and enjoyed it. But back to the food, it was good but I feel like I could walk into a Greek spot and get the same quality for a bigger quantity. The same goes for the desserts. I'm just saying. But yea, besides the dancing there wasn't an really entertainment going on. Oh I mean if your shorter than 3 feet you would definitely have a blast since they have these huge inflated castles to play in. I guess next year ill have another rating for this place since I'll be bring my little one here.

In previous years, I would have rated this event with 5 stars but this year, I noted some unwelcomed changes. Don't get me wrong, it was still a fun event and the entertainment was as good as ever but the prices for everything continues to go up while the quality of their food goes down. The basic chicken & lamb dishes were up to par with the past but the sides tasted more "store bought" and it appears that corners were being cut for convenience or less labor intensive in feeding the masses. For example, the dolmas (grape leaves w/ rice filling) we're pretty awful. They were hard and tasteless...like out of a can. This is the first year back after the pandemic and food prices are going up everywhere so some of this is understandable but I would like to remind the organizers of the event that the quality of food is the primary reason that a lot of folks faithfully attend this annual event. I personally have only missed the Greek Festival a few times in the last 50 years and I'm hoping that this year was only a glitch that can be corrected in the future. Opa!
