Gold Street Pizza & Brew

Gold Street is really turning into quasi regular spot for the work lunch bunch. Let me tell you why....1. Tasty Food 2. Great Service3. Proximity to WorkI've included several photos of our delicious encounters when at Gold Street. Our most favorite, hands down for all of us, is the brussel sprouts appetizer! As I put as the caption to my photo, it is a must try! I even urge you non-brussel sprout lovers to give it a try. I am positive this dish will change your mind. The brussel sprouts are peeled apart, and baked til crispy and tossed with bacon and a habanero sauce. If we didn't always order one as an appetizer when we come, I would probably order it as my meal. The other thing that wins me over every time is the friendly-ness of the staff. They always go above and beyond and they make me a garlic dipping sauce when we visit. It always makes my day!

A FRIENDLY PLACE TO GATHERMom and dad (the owners) and every single person working here (mostly family and they all still love each other, it can work and they prove it) are busy greeting every person that walks in the door. Now I don't mean a generic "hey", I mean an actual greeting, hugs, handshakes, "how's your family?". When I walked in it was like I was the only person in the place, I felt so much love!Now dad, who probably rolled in on his Harley, I just picture it like that, bald, tats, the whole nine, is a huge teddy bear with a big smile on his face all the time. He is jumping in and helping everywhere that is needed. I would like to see his fit bit tracker, as he's making sure everyone is getting everything they need in a very speedy fashion. (I also heard he does deliveries too, if they get too busy). Now mama bear (I did call her mama and she turned around, so...I'm probably an adopted child now) is so sweet and kind. She complimented me right out of the gate on my tan and how the color of my shirt complimented it, (thank you NM for the sunshine). Mama made me feel special. She's busy making her rounds and I swear I'm now in the middle of a family reunion! And this is one you don't want to skip! This is one where you want to show up early and stay late.... Auntie just showed up to help out on a busy night. She has the 50's pin-up look, she's so cute, you can't miss her! And she is so super nice! She was born in the wrong era.... Tattoos and the browline glasses, her personality matches her look, such a sweetie! Daughter, Cassandra (married to Chris), is so beautiful and Chris definitely married up! (Sounds rude, but they all get it). Even though he is such a great guy too! She is so kind and friendly! Okay, so now that you have the warm and fuzzies, and you feel like part of the fam, let's get down to it.... The food.... Like that suspense? Well let me just tell you that I will be back, A LOT, and my plan is to have everything off of the menu. I made this decision just after one meal... yeah, I'm that excited! The menu is small, which means they are good at what they do! I've said it 2000x, huge menus =frozen food, not here my friends! Pizza, calzones, sandwiches, salad, wings, and desserts... no doubt every single thing is good! So I sat at the bar and ordered a draft beer from Chris, who was the first one to greet me from behind the bar was so gracious. They have 12 drafts to choose from... a taste for everyone. Look, you may think that people that work in establishments, the owners, servers, etc., are your friends when you eat somewhere, but I'm telling you, this is definitely somewhere you will feel at ease immediately! You will now, from this day forth, find me on my barstool regularly, as the genuine nature of everyone shines through and I feel welcomed! Wow, did I really talk about me feeling loved that much? I promise, you will feel the same way! Strangers leave as friends! I had Chris order me what he recommended, which ended up being their version of deep dish (not Chicago deep dish, the one where it's all dough) , but the texture is the same, Gold Street (supreme). It was the first pizza on the menu and he knows their product is good, so he stands by it! This pizza came out with pepperoni, sausage, onions, green peppers, and I immediately went to picking off toppings, as the olives were begging to be eaten! It's not my fault it came out smelling so good! The base is not drowning in sauce, perfect! There was enough to add some flavor but not enough to make you reach for the tums (older people you know what I'm talking about). Now let me try explain to you how amazing this crust is... the dough is made fresh daily and it is the BOMB! The texture is spot on. You're first bite will have you cutting (classy) or shoveling in (not judging you) another bite immediately.... How in the hell is it this perfect? It had just the right amount of chewiness, yet just enough crispness that it didn't feel like you were chewing gum. You all know that one joint where it's so floppy you can't eat it without making mess.... Not here! This was the perfect chewy/crunch ratio! You can taste the love in every bite of the pizza and I may or may not be stealing this dough recipe. Not all dough is the same and this one, damn man, it's top notch! I can't wait to find out the secret and sorry, not sorry, I won't share! (That's if I can con them into giving me the recipe). So I have half a pizza sitting in front of me, yes, don't judge, I ate half.... So what? I promise, this dough is keeping me eating and I just can't stop! It truly is THAT good! My pants are hating me right now, so excuse me while I go unbutton the top notch in the ladies room (such a dude move, but who cares?) so I can continue chowing down... yep, that happened!

We live 5 minutes from this place and just barely are trying it. It easily has become our new favorite. The food is delicious - literally everything. The wings are some of the best I've ever had. And the pizza is amazing. Such a cute vibe as well and also a great place to watch a baseball game. The staff is also so so friendly and attentive. We really love it here and plan to be back regularly.

Traveling our way back to Arizona and we decided we wanted to grab a bite to eat. The reviews and pictures on yelp made this an easy decision for us. Amazing quality in food with friendly staff! My husband had the calzone and could not finish the whole thing. Great bang for your buck! We had the 505 appetizer and demolished it. The ambiance was inviting and decorated fantastically. I highly recommend making the drive to check it out!

I normally only give 5 stars because the food is incredible, but this place deserves 5 stars because of the service. The food is good. I would give the food 4/5. The service, on the other hand, was exceptional. This is a family run business and you can tell everyone looks out for each other. We had a great experience here as new comers. We felt very welcomed into the "gold street pizza" family. Pizza, wings, beer, along with live music - we had a great night. I'd actually skip the live music next time because it was pretty cramped, but I'd definitely head back for the pizza, beer, and wings. Great prices for the quantities too! Plenty of parking available as well.

Although I live close to old town, it was worth traveling down to Southwest Albuquerque to experience Gold Street Pizza. Casual atmosphere with nice lighting, friendly and helpful staff. There was live music tonight by the chill house band. They have a great loyal following, so my evening was enhanced by the positive energy that went along with their fan base. I had a 9 inch veggie pizza with thin crust. Done perfectly in my opinion. All in all a great visit for me. Great food and great music in a nice setting!

Nice people, clean restaurant, but the price's don't support the quality of the pizza. 12" pizza with 2 toppings over $22. A bit high but, if the quality supports the price, ok. Unfortunately quality does not support the price, at least in my mind and taste buds. Clean looking product but the taste just is not there.

I love Gold Street pizza. Their food is delicious. South Valley has been missing an establishment like this. Everybody in that restaurant takes care of us. The service is great they're nice and Inviting, it is almost like they appreciate us being there and supporting their restaurant. Salads are fresh pizza is delicious. Chicken wings are delicious all their appetizers. I suggest that everybody go and support this establishment because they really are top-notch.

Good place. A little out of the way, and it was a little loud with the TV blaring, but the service was great and so was the food. Everyone in the group ate up everything and that's kind of rare for us! Salads and wings are delicious.

Great place! Didn't eat this visit though. Went to listen to the live music. It was awesome. Very big crowd! Service great!Will be going back again!
