Global Storage

I have been renting storage units from Global Storage Chelwood since 2016.I've had a 5x5, and two 5x10's over the seven years. I've enjoyed Crystal and her dog and also Mariana. I also recall liking the woman who was there in 2016. I use my code to enter the building my unit is in, and the same code gives me access to the building that has a lavatory. I have been able to borrow a cart on the days that I needed one. I'm able to park directly in front of the door to the building where my units have been, which makes it very easy to put things in my unit and take things to my car when I need to do that.

Fair warning: do not rent here. This place is dirty, not secure, not safe at night, and service is very poor. There was a very pretty young lady at the front desk but her attitude was terrible after we signed the rental agreement. Unfortunately, she was as crude as she was good looking. There are no refunds and it's not a lease but a rent agreement. This place is not professional at all.

This place is a DEFINITE no! Do not rent space here. The staff is very rude and not helpful. Their attitude is absolutely terrible. Jerry, the guy that runs the Candelaria spaces is a real jerk, confrontational and borderline combative. I nearly had to call the police when dealing with him. The particular incident that sealed the deal with me was when I needed a cart to move some items from my unit. He required me to give him my ID for it. No problem. Later we needed the restroom and he refused to let us use it. So we locked up our assigned cart and when looking for a public restroom elsewhere. When we returned (20 minutes later) he had deactivated our access code and place a lock on our unit. When I went to him to ask for my access to be restored he started yelling at me and calling me names. Saying I could not lock the cart in my unit. I told him we were not finished with it and returned very shortly to finish our task. He continued calling me names and I just firmly stated that I required access to my unit or I would call the police. He eventually allowed us access after wasting a good amount of our time and took the cart and would not let us use it so we had to move our items the hard way. A real terrible experience to say the least, VERY unprofessional.In addition the place is dirty and smells of urine as I guess that other unit renters just urinate on the floors due to lack of restrooms. Also they claim that the units are climate controlled. They are not. The air conditioning is never on in the summer and the heater is also not on in the winter. I complained about this but they never addressed this issue.Take this as a warning DO NOT RENT from global storage in Albuquerque. They do not care, and they certainly do not deserve your business or money!! If I could give negative stars I would!!

I just wanted to start off by saying how thorough and professional Kim was. She was very informative and efficient- Wonder Woman! Having such a wonderful experience at the Rio location, my boyfriend and I had no doubts about the Chelwood facility. We had a proper walk through prior to our rental agreement with Jerry, who also was very professional and informative. I rated 4 stars because sometimes the employees are out of the office, not a huge concern, but could be an inconvenience to others. Thanks again Kim for being so helpful!

I have used Global storage since they first opened. I was charged 85.00 a month then they sold and raised my fee to 160.00 a month. They have trouble managing their system and send me over due notices then immediately send apology emails because their was no overdue issue. If you are looking for storage just be sure you don't do business with any of their locations. They have doubled my payment in 2 years. A terrible organization.

Poorly managed, bad bookkeeping, rude employees.

This place is great. I moved here from NYC, and I looked at many places. All of them had the usual move in fee, and insurance in some places, but they were all full priced. I only need the place for 3-4 months. I think most storage people are temporary. Jerry and Cynthia were amazing. They asked me how long I needed the place. I told them the 3-4 months. They advised that they have 3 MONTH HALF OFF Specials and 6 MONTH half off specials. I rented two 10x10 units that would regularly be $250/month times 6, but they gave me each unit half price --- $63/month for 6 months. Needless to say I took advantage. Even though I just recently moved out, it was still the best deal that I got, and I shopped everywhere. Their 10x10 is $125/month, and you can get that half price for up to 6 months. This is the best kept secret. MAKE SURE YOU ASK THEM ABOUT THE SPECIALS. Let them know you are short term (6 months) and get the special and save money. Also I checked on their normal prices and they were still cheaper than the other places (Armored and Extra Space). If you need something short term -- less than a year, you should really check out their prices.If you only need storage for a short while, why pay full price? Take advantage of the discount and move out before the discount ends. They said their 3-6 month 1/2 off discount is an ongoing thing on available units. Check them out, it is good temporary solution.

This place is a terrible place they're very rude and make lots of mistakes it is been known to if you walk in with another person and they don't like the other person they won't rent to you no matter how clean you are they also have a lot of problems with employees and never keep them does employees obviously don't need to respect anyone because the company itself doesn't I would never rent from them again I'd recommend if you want a safe place to go somewhere else
