We stumbled upon Gertrude Zachary Jewelry on a recent trip to Albuquerque. We were looking to pass time ahead of a dinner reservation. Perusing jewelry sounded like fun. I did a bit of research in the parking lot and found high reviews online. Thanks, Yelpers! I was impressed with the collection of turquoise inside. There are cases upon cases of rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings and more. Bella, the sales associate, and I immediately connected. Soon enough I had fallen in love with an assortment of bracelets and earrings. I was impressed with her knowledge of the stones, the turquoise mines, as well as the indigenous artists who crafted the designs I selected. It felt like an educational shopping experience, which helped me make a more informed buying decision. I've never purchased turquoise, so I have no idea how GZ's prices compare to others. I was told the prices were wholesale since there was no middleman. I love the pieces I selected. I willbe mailed a certificate of authenticity. Thank you, Bella at Gertrude Zachary!

A consistent 5 stars from me on the Gertrude Zachary experience. They have inspiring and unique pieces. Every piece is quality made and exceptional. The location and one on one service will exceed your expectations, my salesperson Denise remembers me, what she's sold me in the past and knows my style and will keep me in mind when something she thinks I like and is in my budget comes in. Please consider going in and ask for Denise

I've been a long time customer with GZ, I'd say just over 15 years. Although I may not be the traditional target customer (I'm a white woman), I absolutely love the assortment of stones, carving, and inlay work they have to offer. I believe the saying goes, "the bigger the better." Most of what I own has come from this store. Customer service has always been good for us. During our 15 years, we moved out of NM to Alabama for about 8 years, but that didn't stop our commerce with GZ. One of our favorite agents, Becky (who is unfortunately no longer there), took very good care of us by sending pictures of pieces she thought would be to our liking. We could either purchase or place the item on layaway. There have been several times we've used the layaway option. Today, Vince does a nice job handling our jewelry affairs. Annually, GZ hosts an event from a gal who travels around the southwest picking old Native American Jewelry and she sets up with GZ to sell these pieces. Super cool event and fun to attend. Oh! Don't forget the old Nob Hill location was used in Breaking Bad! Not sure it has survived through these Covid times.Their COVID practices are right. Plexiglass partition, masks, sanitizer, and sanitizing between customers.

I liked it, I put a ring on it, and this place made the ring.Ah, jewelry, what a conflicted social beast you are. You adorn us for so many reasons: to promote fiscal status, make us stand out in the crowd, support our cultural identity, and decorate Jimmy's hairy nasty chest with gold. You won't find any thick gold chains at Zachary Gertrude (wasn't it the other way around--Gertrude Zachary--for all of known existence?). You will find southwestern-styled stones, gems, necklaces, bracelets and earrings similar to the billboards plastered all over our freeways (and no, the models are suspiciously absent from the store). We enjoyed the customer service and felt somewhat comfortable with the selection we were offered for the big bling ring, although our perception of that experience has changed over the years. It's striking that a company with such an interesting eye for fashion offered comparatively bland and conventional wedding ring options. The ring we finally settled on has had issues over the years, the gemstone has fallen out and needed some tweaking, which has taken effort and been rather costly. But then, isn't that a great metaphor for marriage? Don't tell my wife I said that... Overall, I applaud this business for consistently advertising its product with arguably middle-aged, Hispanic women, some of them a little full-figured. Right on!

Loved the jewelry and the customer service when I purchased a beautiful ring. However, shortly thereafter (9 mos.) the ring broke. I contacted the shop and they wanted to charge me to repair the ring. I would think a solid silver ring should not break easily and that they would stand behind the workmanship of the ring - especially because I only had the ring for such a short amount of time.

I bought a turquoise ring here last year for $170 and the stone chipped a few months later so I brought it into the store to see about having it repaired. I picked out a new stone and had the ring repaired for $100. When I went to pick up the new ring I asked for the chipped stone back and was told they didn't have it. I paid for that stone when I bought the ring the first time. I know they would not give be back my old stone because they have already reused it to make new jewelry to sell again. Won't be returning...save your money and go somewhere else!!!

Very disappointing. I went here with my husband and we were celebrating in New Mexico for the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. We went on a Breaking Bad tour and won a gift card here and we're so excited!! Once we got there however, the sales associate was incredibly rude and followed us around the entire time even though we politely told her we would seek her or when we were ready. This got to the point where if I were in any other store I would have just left (but i love a bargain and couldn't give up the $50 gift certificate without buying something). When we finally went to check out I also had a 10% off coupon for taking the tour (they give you coupons to several places it's a great deal!) you would have thought I asked her something so horrible by the expression on her face and she said she needed to call the owner to make sure I could use both the coupon and gift card. Yes, maybe most people who can afford to shop here this is a little much, but don't offer up gift certificates and coupons if you don't expect people to use them! I felt shamed and embarrassed and it turned what would have been a cute experience with my new husband into something that I felt needed to take the time to write a review about. I would not shop here again on principle. Also, in my opinion everything is WAY over priced, but I'll admit beautiful jewelry.

There is so much truly beautiful jewelry in New Mexico, that I don't need this store at all. Get away from the tourist garbage and go find some "real" NM jewelry. Ever since Gertrude Zachary died, this store has really gone downhill. Now I hear that if you step off the property, even for a minute, your car will be booted and then it's $60.00 to get the boot taken off. Nice way to treat your customers.
