I am still waiting for my 100% reimbursement of my wasted $7,000 retainer. They did so much more damage than good. And yet. they never neglected to charge me $400 to read and respond to each individual email after having promised me I had a strong case (that included a wittingly taped confession of my wife admitting to over a decade of domestic violence), then failing time after time to handle my case with any reasonable care. These mother f*ckers had better return my $7,000 before I file in small claims court for it. And believe me, that is not an empty threat, I absolutely will. This is part of an online campaign to show what an absolutely horrible firm Genus is so that no one else falls victim to their fraudulent promises. Here is a text message I sent in response to, managing attorney, Tony Spratley when he asked to call him I told him shortly after I explained I was firing his shitty firm: "Well, sir? I would prefer not. I don't trust you. I believe you lied to me and swindled me with false expectations. I felt pressured, and even bullied by you. I am not an attorney and yet you treated me as though I should have been expected to know the rules, demanding even more money for a case (which was eventually dropped) that you originally offered to "give me a break on." Genus lost your records from my meeting with Jessica Hess (which was equally high pressure, in fact she even called me "pathetic" for hiring a marriage counselor shortly after meeting her.) Your attorney, David, and paralegal, Kim, have done zero to manage those high expectations you set and have failed meeting even the lowest of them (when this should have been among the easiest case in your firm's history). It's three months in and there are not only almost no changes, but my wife's cliché man hating counsel, Paralegal Kim called a "baby attorney," further raising expectations, has been allowed to completely control the narrative. Communication with your staff and lawyers is absolutely awful and yet you're charging me hundreds of dollars each time they open an email. I've paid more than enough for them to finish the job. If you need more money, then do you job and get it from my wife's family."I also must be noted that Jessica Hess who called me "pathetic" for not divorcing my wife, then and there, when I consulted with her 2 years ago was fired from Genus shortly after which goes to show how little effort Genus puts into hiring competent and/or ethical representation.DO NOT HIRE THIS FIRM! They are wildly incompetent and have cost me 9 months with my child, thus far!

Excellent Law Firm. These attorneys really know what they're doing, and the price is very fair. Genus Law Group is the best in New Mexico!
