Out of the major Video Game stores in the area, Gamers Anonymous was the only one to have what I needed. I stopped at two other stores and neither of them had what I wanted. Calling ahead, I wanted to make sure GA had it in stock. I was greeted by a friendly employee who told me they had it. I made the drive to their store and not only did they have it stock, they had a pre owned one I bought for cheaper. Gamers Anonymous does match prices and I love to support local.

I'm a HUGE fan of older games. In fact, I heavily prefer them over newer ones. As with most things these days, you'll find the best selection online, but here's the rub, with vintage and used games and consoles you truly are rolling the dice by buying sight unseen. Not to mention that when possible, I always try to patronize local businesses over our evil web giant overlords. But I digress...Being relatively new to Albuquerque I started poking around to see if I could find an old console locally and Gamers Anonymous came highly recommended. I put it off for some time but finally made my way in there today! I was pleasantly surprised by a gallery of old playable Nintendo displays, nostalgic posters and accessories galore. Not to mention they had both consoles I wanted to purchase for a VERY reasonable price. They even throw in one game with the purchase of each console. My only qualm was that they didn't really have a robust selection of cartridges for SNES or Genesis, which I'm grappling with docking them a star for. Their staff was incredibly helpful and kind so I feel a little bad about going with 4 instead of 5 but I really had high hopes for at least SOME Mario games on SNES. You know... the classics? They had a lot of obscure ones that clearly nobody wanted because there were 4-5 of each. I honestly wish I could give 4.5 vs. 4 but I'll definitely be back and see if that tips the scales for me.Side note: I think it's incredibly cool that they foster a cat in the store which is adoptable, and that they are helping kitties find homes. I think the clerk mentioned something like this being their 80+ cat so far. Even though I'm terribly allergic and went through half a box of kleenex after leaving, that adorable furball was worth the snuggles.

I didn't know how awesome this place was until I started checking out the competition. Gamer's Anonymous - particularly this location - is fantastic and makes retro & modern game buying an enjoyable experience. They had a poster by the entrance that caught my eye on my most recent trip - they sell a SNES handheld console! It is fantastic. I was able to try it out because they had a used one for sale the day I was there. After playing on it for a few minutes, I knew I must have one and now I've fallen down the wormhole of classic SNES games.Pricing on the Supaboy S and the games I bought were all fantastic. I was not familiar with pricing, so I did a little peeking on eBay before making a big purchase and all of the games were very very good prices. I expected to pay a good bit more to buy local, but GA seems to price their cartridges for about the same as they're selling for on eBay give or take. The Supaboy system was also a good price - it was available a few bucks cheaper online, but I'm literally talking about less than a 10% difference and buying local means having a great store like this AND not having to wait.I have checked out the other Gamer's Anonymous on the westside and I liked this location more. The staff here is friendly, approachable, and knows their stuff. This location also has some fun games playing on retro systems to let you relive some fun memories for freeeeeee! I'll be back!Update: ended up swapping the handheld Supaboy for a genuine Nintendo console a few days later. The store was fair to me - I had opened and used the Supaboy, so they did deduct a percentage of what it was worth to trade it out - but the process was easy. I would continue to recommend them.

This is the best place in town for retro video games. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The prices are within reason.

This place has taken to the standards of Gamestop. They use to be okay, that was until they sold their soul to the greed devil. Now if I'm going to get ripped off on my sells to them I'd rather go to the competition. At least at the competition they'd say hello and try to acknowledge you. Not to mention at the other store they get new products in. This one has the same old crap nothing new to find and nothing notable to say. They will tend to whoever they feel is worthy of their time.

This is without a doubt the best game store in the city of Albuquerque. Knowledgeable staff, great and varied selection, and a laid back pleasant environment. If you're looking for a video game, system, or accessory they have a excellent system to inform you when it comes in. Again, best game store in town.

Usually always good business here but unfortunately that changed yesterday when u bought a psp. I had gotten home and played it or tried to play it lol. It was broken I called about 40 mins after buying it telling them what had happened. The lady said they would save another psp for me to trade but they wanted to look at it first. Next day comes and I head over. They said they would look at it and it would take an hour. They were hesitant to even give me a refund because of a sticker was gone on the back of it. I had took it off because it was peeling form holding the psp. Really gave me a hard time about it. Finally they look and say there's nothing they can do but they put the sticker thing to the side and said they would give the refund. I then ask can I get the other psp you had in stock with my store credit. They said they had sold it. Haha what a waste of time. Not people of their word and had the most unpleasant experience. I probably wouldn't go back but I do have a hundred so dollars in credit so kinda have to lol. Take it how you want but that's just what happened to me.

I've done business with them a few times and always had a great experience, but today I went to trade in a special edition gears of war xbox 360, with a controller and such. They tested it out and everything and said that the system wouldn't connect to any networks and that the controller had drifting issues which I know was a total lie because I take immense care of all my systems and was offered $20.Went to Nobels, another gaming store. Did the same thing, was told everything was in great condition and they had no issues, and was offered $60. Very disappointed, especially for a place where I bring in lots of business. Be careful, and always trust your gut. Gamers anonymous has lost a customer for trying to gain a few extra dollars.

Stopped by this cool store today after I got in town for work. They have a pretty impressive selection of uncommon games. I plan on going back one more time before I leave town just to see if I can find something else to bring home. I'd highly recommend stopping by for any classic gaming needs.
