This little refill store just opened up in the same plaza as Tako Ten off of Tramway. I believe the space was a salon or something before, but it's a great addition to the restaurants in the area.I stopped in while waiting for some nachos and was able to take a little bit of a look around. It looks like they have a good variety of things like soaps and spices. The overall goal, of course, to be able to be more sustainable in our purchases.I didn't buy anything, but I definitely want to go back for the spice selection. Especially because I've been trying to get better about cooking meats and there was a steak seasoning that I would love to try.The space is decorated super cute and from what I understand, it is owned by a younger woman which I love.

Bring your own packaging- get stuff you already buy at competitive prices without the waste! Saw the sign while driving down Tramway one day, and popped in just to see what it was about. This woman- run business is a super-cool idea! As a person who cares about all the plastic I waste buying stuff from retail chains, I am always frustrated that I buy the natural, biodegradable whatever (laundry soap, dish soap, shampoo) at the chains, but then defeat my own attempt at lowering my carbon footprint by then throwing away to trying to recycle the plastic packaging. Same as buying in bulk from natural stores- I am not buying a full bag, but still throwing out a plastic bag. Fillin' Funky lets me bring my own packaging (my Mason jar, Tupperware, used laundry detergent bottle, reusable bag, etc.) and get anything from coffee beans, lentils, rice, Italian dried pastas, to laundry soap, shampoo, etc. She also carries sustainably packaged items like Toilet paper, doggie shampoo, beauty products, as well as some local/ seasonal items from like-minded businesses.I will definitely be coming back for refills!
