Evie's Doggie Spa

To start I will say the staff was nice, as far as the grooming I received for both my Maltese and my Doodle/wolfhound I thought I made it very clear I did not want them shaved. As a dog trainer and experienced dog own I know better than to shave them. After about four hours I was told I could pick them up and when I arrived I was shocked as both of my pups were saved completely. It's been almost nine months and their hair still hasn't grown all the way back. And the texture of my Doodles hair has changed. Keep this in mind before coming to this groomer. This is an old school grooming facility not able to give styled cuts as in a Teddy bear cut for example.

My wife took our beautiful Yorkie boy to this place for a trim and we went from a Yorkie to a Chihuahua in 45 minutes. I figured it would take twice that long for a decent Yorkie cut but when I got the call to pick him up 45 minutes after dropping him off I was surprised to say the least. When I saw him I asked if my wife had ordered him cut that short and they said she had. Do I believe them or my wife of 51 years?? She NEVER requested that crappy cut. I could have given him a bad haircut which would be better than the one he got there...for free! Needless to say we're cancelling our little girl's appointment. These people need to clean out their ears or find a groomer that listens. I would suggest taking a digital recorder in with you to record your instructions... seriously! This is a huge disappointment!! I thought it best to post before and after pictures. In case you're wondering...Yes, this is the same Yorkie.

This mother daughter team did a great job with my miniature schnauzer. My dog is 14 years old, and I needed to find a specialized groomer because she had been having issues her last couple of grooms. We visited this place prior to, and they were very friendly and explained the methods they used on older dogs. This was one of the best cuts my dog has ever had, and they took really good care of her. She was extremely clean, smelled good, and looked like herself again. I've been very stressed out about this because I know she's older but grooming really isn't an option for this breed and my mind is at ease now. As long as she's alive, we will take here here. The price wasn't bad, about 50 total and included an add on package and CBD oil which calmed her down. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone else with an older dog.

I am very protective of my three fur-babies. I've tried popular/big box groomers and hands down ABQ Doggie Spa is the best.It's a mother /daughter run company with so much love for the four legged children. I have complete trust when my babies are here. Carolyn and Evie genuinely love dogs. I feel like I am leaving my pups with a friend.Great price but more importantly great service. I will follow them wherever they may go because I trust them that much. You won't be disappointed and your fur-babies are in the best care.

I really can count on Albuquerque Doggie Spa to take care of mytwo Australian Shepherds. Cody is an older dog and a little "barky" when Mom leave him--but everyone is so great about his quirky old behavior and he looks like a young puppy when he is done. Oso is such a great loving dog but doesn't like baths---that being said, he is in such a beauty when he's finished and happy happy happy. In the 15 years I have been in New Mexico, I have never found a groomer I felt truly comfortable with, nor one that truly knows how to give a professional Schnauzer groom. They have always come home with straggly hairs, uneven beards, and eyebrows, ears not cleanly trimmed...uneven and jagged, sometimes one paw hasn't had nails trimmed, sanitary trim not done, so many issues. I have had to take scissors and do my best to trim up or clean around what was NOT done. It seems like the previous groomers watched a few videos and called themselves "schnauzer groomers."Not the case with Evie and Carolyn. Took my two miniature Schnauzers there (well one is a rescued Schnauzer Shih Tzu), and they both are absolutely perfect. Great care, great grooming, nice ladies to work with who seem very caring and gentle with your beloved pets. I couldn't be more relieved nor happy with my experience there yesterday. You bet they have a ongoing customer - Prayers answered!

I absolutely love this place!!! The staff is amazing and they genuinely love what they do. I'm usually the one who drops off and picks up my miniature schnauzer to get groomed. My husband had to pick him up one day and they didn't make it easy on him. My husband said they were very protective over our pup and asked multiple questions to make sure he was who he said he was. We were both so grateful that they cared so much. If you're looking for a groomer, this is the place to go.

Evie takes such good care of my dog Paco. I have been coming here for years now. He is very anxious and she is very patient with him. I know she cares about him and he loves her! I never want to take him anywhere else.

We loved taking our baby to Evie. But, we have had two very bad experiences. The first was when she came home with a broken paw. We don't know what happened. They said that they didn't know what happened either. We believe them that maybe no one noticed that she got her paw caught or something. Accidents happen. We took her again, know that Evie loved our baby as much as we do. Our pup is an older dog. She's going to be 15 soon. Yes, that is an elderly dog. We know that. But, she has a good life and she is not in pain, just slow. We followed them from their San Mateo place to their place up on Menaul and Juan Tabo. My mom ran into Evie at the grocery store. My mom talked to her and the friend Evie was with. So, as Evie walked off, she told her friend they have a dog that is old and just doesn't know she should just lay down and die. As much as we loved most of our experiences, we cannot take her back. How can we leave our fur baby with anyone who thinks that?? Yes, my puppy is old. But, she is healthy and loving. She still plays like a puppy and is in good shape. But, even with her allergies, she still has good quality of life and is very sweet and loves and trusts us. She trusts us to make sure she goes to be groomed by someone who loves her just as much as we do.
