We have an older house in Nob Hill that needed structural repair, utility upgrades and a complete bathroom & kitchen remodel. We wanted an experienced general contractor to oversee the entire project because there was so much work of different types to be done. Fortunately, we came across Enchantment Cabinetry & Design, LLC, in our search. The owners, Sal & Lydia Lozano, have been in this line of work for nearly a quarter of a century and had the qualifications and experience we were looking for. Sal & Lydia were mindful of the uniqueness of the Nob Hill area and proposed design options complementary to our home. Our complicated project required considerable planning & design, beginning in May 2019, with demolition & renovations starting in late Fall and lasting through early March, 2020.Sal efficiently coordinated all the subcontractor work needed for the electrical & plumbing upgrades as well as all the work his own team did. He handled all the design documents & permitting required by the City and dealt with the inspectors. Enchantment does everything to code, so managing the permitting process is an invaluable service. We were close at hand to help with any and all decisions but had confidence in Sal to guide the process and do the work. Our house had some structural issues; not surprising in these older houses. The support of one load bearing wall was eroding under the house & some joists had been compromised during construction many years ago. Sal's team installed new concrete pillars in the crawl space beneath the house, reinforced the joists and stabilized everything. (The closet door closes again!) This was difficult work done in a tight space and required dismantling & removal of a decaying water heater left in the crawl space pit.Sal upgraded the electrical service to 200 amp service sufficient for the needs of homes today, and installed circuits to bring the house up to City code & electrical safety. Before, 75% of the power load was on 1 circuit designed before microwaves and blow dryers. In addition, gas, water, and sewer services were all upgraded, eliminating maintenance and code issues under the house and a previously retrofitted utility room. Along the way, an aging conventional water heater was replaced with an energy efficient tankless version. We encountered a few unexpected obstacles in the process but Sal always had a solution (his motto: "Every problem has a solution"). Sal had warned us early on that unforeseen problems typically come up, that they are handled in approved change orders, and that he would do his best to keep any additional cost reasonable, which we think he did.Our bathroom had water damage from a leaking flat roof (now replaced) and cracked tile from floor instability (mentioned above), so our remodel required taking the room down to the studs and installing new drywall for both walls and ceiling, floor joists reinforcement, and new subfloor and tile. We had the tub replaced with a tiled walk-in shower with glass panels and door. Sal uses the Schluter system and line of products for waterproofing shower walls, pans, and floors. Our bathroom is small and irregularly shaped. The conventional door made access a bit tight. Sal converted our standard door to a pocket door and opened up the space considerably. It was a great idea. The kitchen was a complete remodel with new custom cabinets and under-lighting (with wireless dimming remote); electrical wiring, outlets, switches; ceiling lighting; granite countertops and country sink; appliances. The cabinets are custom-made with our layout and style design, wood and stain selection, and hardware selection. They are sturdy, spacious and absolutely lovely! Sal and Lydia devoted considerable time to the design process, with several iterations until we were completely satisfied. They referred us to their appliance vendors to choose a complementary appliance package and take advantage of his contractor discounts. After being back in the house for a month we are still awed when we walk into the kitchen and see the beautiful transformation.Sal oversaw the construction aspects of the work while Lydia collaborated on design. We really needed her guidance since we were new to this process. Our rooms are small and we wanted to maximize the space. Lydia had great suggestions for this as well as selections of tile, granite, hardware and accessories we could choose from. Having her listen to our ideas, look at photos of designs and styles we thought we might like and then having her do some initial selections for us was incredibly helpful. There are so many choices out there that we would have been overwhelmed if left completely on our own.One other thing of note, the workers all seemed hard-working, dedicated, efficient, and respectful of our home. They were always polite and took the time to answer our questions when we interrupted their work. We are very pleased with the final outcome and highly recommend this company.

We were very happy with Sal and his employees: Francisco, Oscar, Jose and others. We have a 1940's UNM house that needed new plumbing behind the walls and a remodel. The tile work and shower niche are beautiful! The walls are perfectly smooth and painted. The bathroom is beautiful. I am quite the detail oriented person and I am so impressed with their craftsmanship and attention to detail. Sal was very clear with his communication and responded right away to any concerns or questions I had. They were flexible when I needed to postpone the project and then completed the project very quickly once it had begun (done in just 8 work days!). The work crew was extremely respectful and cleaned up each day. They even added a few details I had not requested / thought of to complete the job. I highly recommend Enchantment Cabinetry. We are thrilled with their work.

We started looking for a company to remodel our bathroom at the beginning of 2019. We did an intense research as to what a remodel of this type would cost, how long it would take for completion and the types of materials were best for this project. Little did we know! We started our search for a local company and after a few weeks of searching and reviewing estimates, we came across Enchantment Cabinetry & Design, LLC. When we walked into their showroom (which is beautiful by the way), both Sal and his wife greeted us in a very professional manner, asked us what we were looking for and listened to us go on about the project we wanted to start. We made an appointment to have Sal come out and take a look at our bathroom that same week; he took measurements and asked if there were any specifics we wanted to include in our design. Little did he know, I had a few favorites from magazines and a few print outs I had seen on different websites. After receiving the estimate, we decided we wanted to set an appointment to meet with them and get this remodel moving forward. We signed contract mid May, made our deposit and asked a million questions. Sal was very honest when it came to the time line for the fabrication and the completion of our bathroom. With in a few days we were setting appointments to meet with his wife to look at materials, paint, fixtures, hardware and design. Thankfully, with both of their help, we were able to make our final selections and decisions to move forward. With in a couple of weeks, we got a call with the confirmation of our start day. I can't say how excited I was to hear we were only weeks away from a beautiful bathroom remodel. Four weeks later, our Master Bathroom was completely finished. Sal's crew is wonderful, hard working and trustworthy. We couldn't have chosen a better company to hire for this remodel. We are thrilled with how our remodel came out. We would definitely hire them again!

After years of planning, and months of interviewing and pricing, we hired Enchantment Cabinetry & Design LLC to assist us with our kitchen remodel during the Covid-19 summer of 2020. Sal and his team walked us through the design phase and linked us with other subcontractors (electrical, plumbing, mechanical) we needed for the project. Enchantment built and installed our cabinets, granite countertops, and tile backsplash. All aspects of the work were timely, well-coordinated and professional. We love our new kitchen and are planning to ask Sal to assist us with another future remodel project.

In 2017, when I was 74 years sold, I began researching companies who could remodel my kitchen and two bathrooms. I chose Enchantment Cabinetry & Design, LLC, owned by Salvador and Lydia Lozano, primarily because Sal told me that they made their own cabinets. He told me his father had been a cabinet maker in Los Lunas, and that he had learned the trade and taken over the business from him. Since I wanted professional cabinetry and not cabinets from a big box store, I hired them I gave them a check for one half of the project in June 2017, even though they did not start the project until almost seven months later. Sal wanted immediate upfront payment to guarantee no price increase. Things were okay for the first few weeks. Once the cabinets were installed, however, I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the cabinetry. They do not compare to my old cabinets, nor do they compare to the cabinets in Home Depot or Lowes. They look cheap, the door panels are extremely thin, the corregated wood shelves have warped, what little wood used is soft and nicks easily. I am now convinced that he does not make his cabinets as I was led to believe. I believe my cabinets are pre-fab cabinets. When I voiced my disappointment to Sal, I began to see a change in his demeanor. He became angry and began to bully me. He accused me of trying to get out of paying him. He told me he has had customers in the past complain when it came time to pay, but that "he knew how to handle these situations". ME...who paid him half of the project cost seven months before they started! ME...who paid him immediately after each project! ME...who gave him a $10,000 advance when he asked for it. Sal contacted me sometime during the kitchen project and told me he would take $900 off my final bill if i would advance him $10,000. he called it the "good neighbor discount". I gave him the money, but when I received the final bill, I noted that there were now additional, ridiculous charges. Sal accused me of "nit-picking" when I brought things to his attention, such as: The grout around the granite was cracking and coming off in several areas. Cabinet doors jumped at closure or did not close completely. There was EXPOSED wiring on top of cabinets where LED lights had been installed. Workers used DOUBLE-SIDED MASKING TAPE instead of screws to attach electrical outlet covers. The LED light railing was improperly cut in several areas and had noticeable gaps. The border at the bottom of the cabinets (toe kicks) is held by thin staples, similar in size and width to paper staples. They come off if I accidentally kick them or hit them with the vacuum attachment. The cutout for the stove vent was improperly cut and was "corrected" by covering it with tape. Company painter used GLOSS paint strokes on a FLAT paint surface, which was noticeable since he did not paint the entire area. The oven was installed (per Sal's design) less than one half inch from the refrigerator. When you open the refrigerator door, it hits the oven handle, which has cause scratches on my new refrigerator door. The workers did not clean the garage where they had been working and cutting tile. They left 4-1/2 months of dirt and debris, which I had to clear and clean. A week before the project was "completed", Sal demanded payment of the project balance, even though appliances had not yet been delivered and installed. When I refused to pay him until delivery and installation was completed, he became belligerent and threatened me with a lawsuit. He told me he had my appliances paid through his credit and that he needed to clear his account with the appliance store. I guess he forgot that I had given him a check eight months earlier for the appliances! I had a difficult time getting him to come to my home and "fix" things. He asked for a list of things needing work, which I gave to him. Two months later he sent someone, but the work was never completed. I am still waiting for him to replace two defective cabinet doors, which he told me in April he was replacing. When I asked for a status of the cabinet doors a month ago, he got rude, accused me of being disrespectful for asking, and advised me he was not going to replace anything. He then sent a follow-up text informing me that his company, Enchantment Cabinetry & Design LLC, had been dissolved and is now a new company under new ownership. Sal utilized licensed professionals very sparingly and only at the beginning of the project. The rest of the work was done by unskilled workers. Even though they had a so-called "foreman", no one ever came to check the work. Hopefully my review will help someone else so they will not experience the disappointment and frustration I experienced.

Sal and the team from Enchanted Cabinetry spent a couple months renovating our neighbor's house. We were so impressed by their work that we hired them to renovate our master bathroom. Although there was a waiting list to schedule the work, we stayed in contact with Sal and met with his staff to select cabinets, countertop, fixtures and accessories. During the selection process we were always happy with Enchantment Cabinetry's service. During the renovation, Sal's team showed up every day on time and thoroughly cleaned their work space at the end of the day. Sal frequently stopped by the house to see progress and review the work being done. Sal also texted us every night to let us know who/when would be at the house the following day and what work could be expected. Sal's team finished four days ahead of projected schedule and the finished product was amazing! We were extremely happy with the work and are already talking about a kitchen remodel. Thanks, Enchantment Cabinetry!
