Recommended by locals on our way to Quemado Lake. We had Mexican cuisine enjoying enchilades and rellenos and homemade pie for dessert baked by owner's grandmother who never baked pies before - she fooled me - filling and crust marvelous - three dollars for slice of pie of which there were four choices - a real steal. I recommend the lemon merengue and pecan. Very busy during lunch, but wait bareable as tourists will enjoy ogling and snapping shots of artsy wall and shelf art - art collection brought to the establishment from the owner's home. I especially coveted a print of an old timey Blue Bell ice cream truck of the early 1900's. On another wall was a well known Peter Hurd print. Real folksy, New Mexico ambiance. I love these off-the-main-road joints that make memories. Returned for a second trip and enjoyed homemade chicken soup and chipotle tacos.
