Needed a "best tortilla chip in Albuquerque " fix tonight and we got it .Ordered guacamole and the chips that came with it were stale and strait out of a bag ! Noooooo. This can't be!Then asked for our chips and salsa....the chips that came were hot, light and very thin....exactly as we expected of El Patron! Dinner was a Stuffed sopaipilla with Carne Adovada, outstanding Beautiful restaurant decorated for the holidays and we were well taken care of.We arrived prior to the Saturday night rush but leaving a packed parking lot was a bit sketchy Bring your patience, this location gets hopping

It's been a while since I visited this location but it's always nice to come here to the awesome interiors and atmosphere. I don't know of any other New Mexican restaurants here with interiors this nice. Our server, Agnieszka, was equally awesome. Probably the best server I've encountered in a while. She's from Poland and was so personable. I asked her to write her name out so I could spell it correctly. Her recommendation of the Cheese Chili Rellenos w Green Chili was spot on. I think the best I've ever had. My friend had the Beef Enchiladas w Red Chili - also delicious. I typically love their dishes w the Serrano cream sauce but after I tried a small sample found it too hot that day. They serve Calabacitas (Mexican squash) as a side as well as rice and beans which I love. When we finished Agnieszka brought out the fresh hot Sopapillas perfectly timed. The manager, Victoria, came over and said hello which was also nice. The whole time the 2 Mexican musicians were playing their guitar music which rounded out our time there nicely. Will back soon since it was so good at this location. Sorry I didn't take any pics bc I was so hungry! ;))

I saw a review that said the salsa was basically tomato paste and they were not wrong. The chips were also very "greasy". I originally ordered a frozen mango marg and it was not frozen at all just had some ice chips on the top. I don't recommend ordering frozen drinks here. I switched it out for a blueberry mojito and it was okay. Felt like something my local dive bar could make. The chicken fajitas were also just okay. I'd save your $$ and go somewhere else. The one thing I did like was the live music.

A great option when you are craving some not so healthy Mexican eats, including lots of chips and salsa. They have really thin chips which I like it makes some extra crispy and their salsa is really good. The building itself is really beautiful and there's some really cool decor. Having too much fun looking at their light fixtures and when you walk in, there's a fire going which was really nice. They have a pretty solid, happy hour with seven dollar drinks and seven dollar food items. I do think that some of the food items are better deals than others. The cheeseburger chimichanga I got was a good deal, especially with a little queso but a friend got a shrimp tostada, which was just a lot less food.

I would say the service was good. Restaurant was easy to get a table. Clean. My Baja fish tacos were way too acidic and under-salted. I couldn't even taste the overcooked fish. The sopapilla was good. Rice was like a stew.

This is a decent New Mex place but the food was average. The chimichanga had potatoes in it which was unusual. The guacamole did not seem fresh. The best items were interestingly the sopapillas and the margarita.

Great experience! We waited at the bar before our table was ready and had "Spicy Pricks"- a prickly pear margarita. It was delish. The bar service wasn't great but when we were seated, it was better. We didn't have a reservation but arrived at 4pm and there was a 15 min wait. I would recommend getting a reservation just in case because it seems to get busy!

So I'm writing this in regards to their chips salsa and honey. The food was good but I've been here before the chips they gave us were soaked in oil, and I mean like bad lol Now about the salsa, since when was their salsa Totato sauce? Last time I was here the salsa was actually good and looked house made. This time it was briny red with specs of green but zero heat. And the honey sitting on the table was literally water. I went to put some on a chip and it spilled rite off the chip. Did they undergo new management or something because I never had these problems eating here before lol over all the food was good but I don't know what they're thinking serving the chips salsa and weird water honey

The restaurant is spacious with a live singer. All of the menus are disgusting and filthy. Some of them were sticking together. The "Spanish rice" isn't even close to correct. Small portions and extremely overpriced food. Mid, Americanized, and watered down "Mexican food." The potholder for the skillets are filthy dirty. Nothing extra or special, not even a wedge of lime. My combo fajita came with exactly 3 small shrimp for $25 it's not worth it. While we finished our drinks, we stared at our dirty dishes still sitting at our table. The restaurant was slow enough they could have been more attentive. We only came here because Herencia was closed. 3 ppl $150, we won't be back.
