We had heard great things about El Patio, and we're glad to have the opportunity to try it out. While this is not their first location, it is in an old adobe house that feels like old Albuquerque. Small rooms snake through the casa. There is, as the name suggests, a nice patio door outdoor dining. The food was excellent with a nice red salsa for the chips. I really enjoyed the red chile. I had the Huevos Mexicanos and my wife had the vegetarian enchiladas. Both were well made and perfectly seasoned. The service was pleasant and quick despite the place being busy.

It was a great place initially but bad experiences increased with the changed staff at El Patio Rio? I like the restaurant and we frequent there. Messed up orders and overcharging has become very common these days which made our visits very less frequent. From 2-3 times a week to 2-3 times a month. The recent incident was the cherry on the top. The waiter seemed new, never saw her before. She messed up the order but not so much and she seemed middle aged, couldn't point it out, out of respect. She was intentionally denying us the sides that come with the order saying they ran out of them. She overcharged us and when we pointed it out her attitude changed extremely rude. I went to the back to enquire about the sides that we asked for before and the other servers said they were available and were happy to get them for us from the kitchen (Some of them have waited on us before and they were nice). She was stationed in the kitchen and made sure none of other waiters come our way and sent them the other way out. It was all visible and audible to us. The other waiters had to eventually come our way some time or the other and they were pretty dismissive of us after she made all the scene. We waited there for 20 mins just so that we can get an escalation contact which they repeatedly denied. After all the humiliation, we came out and called their other branch at Harvard. The staff member that picked up was apologetic and promised he would pass on my contact information to the owner. I am glad for the response but never got a call back for follow up from anyone from the restaurant side.

Visited El Patio for breakfast. It's a hidden gem in the North Valley that has a perfect NM vibe with a cute patio. The food comes out fast and the servers are friendly. I had the carne adovada breakfast sopapilla with red chile. It was great!

El Patio has long been staple for me for New Mexican food. I have been going to the Harvard location for years - and consistently, the avocado burrito (veg burrito on the menu) has been a winner. The red chile is perfect! We tried the Rio Grande location recently, and it hit the spot as well. Great ambiance and location, too. Thanks, El Patio!

I called in for an order of ala cart burrito. A bean burrito is $8.00. I added chicken and cheese, green Chile in the side. That was $5.00 to add the chicken total was $13.00. Got my order and left. Got to where I was going and opened the container and it was just a chicken burrito, no beans, lettuce tomato was on the side and green Chile was in a small container. The burrito was small, chicken was bland, Chile was ok. No napkins, and no utensils. Parking was a challenge and some guy park in the spot where you could go through to get out, I had to back up my van and get out the way to go in a park. If I go again, I hope I have a better experience.

The warm sopapillas that arrive mid-meal are worth the five stars alone. Literally the best of these sweet breads I might have ever tasted. Upon a friends high recommendation, we eagerly awaited our visit to El Patio. We were quite pleased. Every aspect of the experience was excellent. We dined on the patio which was spacious and lively. Alarmist full with mid-day visitors, we were seated quickly and our server was prompt, friendly and helpful. We expected the interior to be drab by comparison to the patio, yet enjoyed strolling in and observing the intriguing artwork and decor. Indoors would have also been a pleasant experience. Our food arrived hot and smelling amazing. Just look at the colors and presentation. Pure New Mexico. Living up to New Mexican cuisine's reputation, the green chile taste and other spices popped, with just enough fire to be flavorful. Our meat was tender and the sides of beans and potatoes had that homemade taste that was both comforting and satisfying. Entree sizes were plenty and the price was very reasonable. We will definitely add this stop to our must-do list when in Albuquerque.

Thankfully Leslie (server /bartender, older lady) no longer works there! She ignored customers, especially the bar, never gave waters and acted like everyone was a burden! She ruined the morale of the crew and discouraged so many customers from coming back! She was a bully... she bullied me a young 21 year old. Outwardly made snarky comments towards me and even bullied my friend I met at el patio. She embarrassed me and made me feel small. I recently learned some shocking news and why she's not allowed at the establishment anymore. It's sad. I hope she gets the help me needs. Truly. On a lighter note I love bartender Aiden! She's always been so kind and poised. She does her job and is personable. Sad I'm leaving nm but go and enjoy their margaritas!

First, and most important, they have the best sopapillas in ABQ. They are thin and puffed and warm and crunchy on the corners. Yum. Atmosphere here is relaxing. On Fridays and Saturdays they have a guitar player. Nice. Super friendly service. Delicious food. Nice atmosphere. Terrific salsa. What more can you ask for? I highly recommend this place. Don't be in a rush when you go. Enjoy the atmosphere and food. Sit. Eat. Enjoy. Try the green chili chicken enchiladas. Fajitas are also good. Also plenty of vegetarian options.

I've loved coming back again and again! However, depending on many factors, there is not a hostess and when wait staff passes by I get bypassed for quite a long time. The food and vibe is why I come back again and again! The food is so tasty and always cooked well. Regarding the vibe, it is very unique! Located off the Rio Grande, it lives up to its name, being a patio! Engulfed with flowers, trees, and lights, it is easy to enjoy your food and overall experience:)

Food- 5+ starsService-1 starWe had the rellano plate, red enchiladas and green enchiladas. The food was all really amazing! The service was lacking. She didn't offer us chips and salsa. We had to ask for seconds on drinks and for our sopapillas. The place was dead too, so I'm not sure why our server disappeared. I would try another place next time.
