El Herradero

The outside of this place lists it as El Naranjero. However, the sign on the strip mall refers to it as El Herradero.Nice place to get totopos, which are strips of fried tortillas and then seasoned. Like tortilla chips but with a slightly different texture. I had never had totopos before, let alone heard of this place until I had them at a friend's place.This is your typical Mexican panadería (bakery), carnicería (butcher), taqueria, y supermercado all in one. Doesn't carry everything. By supermarket, I mean more of a convenience store, but there is no word for that in Spanish. They don't have my favorite Mexican dessert: pastel tres leches, but I saw an assortment of Mexican breads and cookies.

This is the place for some REAL tacos. I'm talking the ones with double corn tortilla, fresh meat, onions, cilantro, & squeezing some limes on top. The food is made fresh right in front of you & they are generous with the servings of meat. Prices are reasonable, the customer service could be a little better but it is a grocery store with the grill in the back. I'm not expecting too much when coming here, although the tacos always exceed my expectations.

Look this place is a great grocery shop with a bit a fresh produce to boot. They also prepare their tacos, tortas, and burritos with fresh meat. (Something you're not going to find for twice the price at your Mall burrito chain.) I work nearby and find their seafood, tacos and other Mexican food a real good deal and good (large) portions. Although, sometimes it gets busy and they only have one register open which is a bummer when I'm in a hurry. Great salsas also. Este lugar tiene las cosas básicas de abarrotes incluyendo una selección muy grande de dulces Mexicana. Los platillos son suficientes grandes. (Me encantan sus alitas)

It's a very good place to go get meat the best in Albuquerque in my opinion. The food is fresh and you can always find what you need. The restaurant makes the food fresh and serves it hot, the prices are good and the customer service is also good. Definitely recommend 10/10
