Been to Duke City BBQ about 4 times now. I have left happy and full each time!! The menu is short and sweet which I love. You can make it a sandwich, or a combo, get it on a baked potato or a bowl over rice. I partake in the combo myself. The sides are tasty as well. The mac' n cheese hits and the baked beans are filled with bonus pieces of pork! Tell me about the other sides if you have had them, I just find myself rotating between those two. The brisket is my go to selection for meat. I typically accompany my meal with a Torpedo, which I highly recommend. If you like jalapeno poppers, you must at least try one. It is a jumbo jalapeno stuffed to the brim with pulled pork and cream cheese, then wrapped in bacon. Honestly I feel like it could be a light meal on it's own. If you are looking for a new place get some bbq, check them out.

I've had Rudy's and Powdrells and Dickeys and Whole Hog. I've had Texas BBQ. I've had Mississippi BBQ. I've had St Louis BBQ. My point is that I believe I've tried a good amount of BBQ to know what I like and what's good. Duke City BBQ is great! From their listed choices of Brisket, BBQ Chop, Pulled Pork, Sausage, Turkey and Pork Loin I opted for the 505 Stuffed Potato with Pulled Pork. My potato was huge and loaded with Butter, Sour Cream, Cheese, Beans Green Chile and their super tasty and flavorful Pulled pork! The Green Chile had the perfect Heat level and every bite was perfect. No way I could eat it all in one setting! Our second selection was the BBQ Bowl with Pork Loin. A large bowl of BBQ beans and Green Chile Cheese Rice with a savory portion of Pork Loin. Mouth watering! We intended to end the meal with banana pudding but it was a swing and a miss. It was the only disappointing thing in our order. Having experienced authentic homemade banana pudding from my mother in law who was born and raised in Mississippi I am confident that a bowl of whipped cream with bananas thrown in is NOT banana pudding!

Stopped by for a quick lunch with a friend. The meats were delicious, well cooked. I also had corn, it was very good. And it was not too expensive, too.

While some patrons have rated this place a perfect 5/5, it's clear they may not have experienced authentic BBQ, especially the kind you find in Texas--now that's the real deal, including spots like Buc-ee's! We visited on a weekday during lunch and were initially the only customers in the restaurant, soon joined by another family. The ambiance was pleasant, with a clean and well-maintained interior, including tidy restrooms. The staff were bilingual and exceptionally friendly, which added to the welcoming atmosphere. The menu offers a variety of options, featuring both pork and turkey products. The sauces were adequately flavored, with the spicy sauce standing out as the best. However, I found the prices to be a bit steep compared to the quality of the food served. Unfortunately, some items missed the mark. The sausage felt like chewing on pure fat, the mac and cheese tasted like it came straight from a can, and the desserts were disappointing. On the brighter side, the beef brisket and turkey sandwich were the highlights of the meal. The drinks were standard Pepsi products, which didn't add much to the experience.Overall, while the prices felt overrated for the portion sizes, it's worth a visit if you're in the area. Just don't expect the hype to match the experience.

Still enjoyable and tasty with decent serving size and great customer service. I've not been in the restaurant for a while, but it's a very nice spot with great windows looking out over San Mateo. They have lots of seating with both booths and tables. I highly recommend Duke City BBQ and will definitely be eating there again.

Stopped by Dukes for a late lunch on a Monday. You must understand this is more of a " fast food" BBQ place than a " pits smoking outside smell the hickory" place. That being said, the BBQ was solid. We ordered at the counter, and in all we tried brisket, jalapeno sausage, the torpedo, the 505 potato and the beans. Very tasty!!! Of note was the 505 potato.... Just a big mound of deliciousness. The ladies at the counter were super sweet, and even gave us a little sample of sausage!!!! I thought it was a really good value as well!!

Went a few times to give my thoughts and review this establishment. On my first trip, I had the 505 Stuffed potato with brisket, which was amazing and very filling. I could only eat half and save some for another meal. My only concern was that I thought the torpedo was going to be bacon wrapped like the ones they advertised, but it's just a grilled pepper. On the next visit, we had the meat combo and ribs. The meat combo plate I got brisket, spicy bbq chop and sausage. The brisket is moist and not too fatty. The sausage was ok too, but I liked the green chile pepper jack more. The spicy bbq chop is very flavorful but a little bit greasy. The ribs we had the Dino ribs, which was huge and tasted like a beef roast. The Dino ribs had a peppery rub and nearly fell off the bone. I would come back for one of these. The regular pork ribs were very meaty, too, but not as flavorful as the dino ribs. Dipping it into the bbq sauce gives it all the flavor it needed. As for the sides, they are all pretty bland and nothing special. The bbq beans and potatoes salad are probably the best and safe options. I didn't care for the coleslaw because I wasn't a fan of the pineapple and raisins in it which was a surprise. The mac and cheese was very thick without much flavor.

Just had Duke City prepare Bar BQ for 75 people for my mother's funeral. All of it was delicious, especially the brisket and Carolina pulled pork. The package came with all the utensils, paper plates and cups, ice tea and napkins as well as bread. Thank you for helping make our function perfect to celebrate my mother's life! Great job!John
