Downtown Historic B&B has been on my list since their open house last year. Finally, I got my chance and it did not disappoint. It would be best just to give a play by play of our stay. Once we booked we arrived we followed the instructions on our confirmation. It gave us a code to a secure box where we were to find the rest of the details for our stay. It felt a lot like a scene from Clue. Fun!Inside looks exactly how you'd hope it to look based on the outside. It's filled with authentic built in furniture in solid sturdy wood. Ours was the Garden Room which was more of a suite than a room. In addition to the queen bed, there is also a separate room (like a living room) with a pull out couch. The living room has a door that leads out to a balcony that looks over the entire property. From there you can see a huge courtyard with a fireplace and luxurious lounge chairs, hammocks and benches. There is a pond, or more of a brook that runs through the back courtyard. I never determined if there were fish. The entire setting is a place for anyone but particularly those who want to take a few days to catch their breath. I sure did.In the morning the DH B&B served homemade quiche, multigrain pancakes, piping hot coffee and juice. If you are going to be in Albuquerque and are doing some comparisons, this one is more than just clean; it's delightful. I am a local. Even so, I'll be treating myself to this again..and again.

I recently stayed at this B&B for one night on my way back from Santa Fe to the ABQ airport. I think that my favorite part of the stay was coming down for breakfast in the morning, thinking that I wanted to sit alone and read, but deciding to sit in the last free seat a large table with other guests. We were all strangers and had a lively conversation over creative breakfast and delicious coffee. I needed to check out a bit late and the hosts were able to accommodate that and also shared a lot more about the B&B's history with the case of Julius and Ethel Rosenburg, which is fascinating to me.As a woman traveling alone, I appreciated the key code and two-handle situation for getting in the front door. Some things that I would have liked to be a tad different: -I like a lot of light/brightness and there was only one small lamp in my room. I think it is part of the atmosphere but I wanted something a bit brighter. There was a cushy reading chair in my room but in a dark spot.

If this review was only based on just the accommodations, than I would give it a 5 star. We stayed in the Golden Room in the Spy House. Parking was a breeze with a private space right in front of the house. Our room was adorable with a comfortable bed. The house was beautifully decorated and inviting. There were plenty of books in the living room and a detective costume to put on for pictures. The down side was breakfast. I LOVE B&B's for the breakfast experience. I think the homemade yogurt and granola was quite tasty. The coffee, not so good. The main course wasn't good. There was a rubbery, possibly microwaved egg, chocolate waffles with chocolate chips and coconut topped with sugary whipped cream. Honestly, kind of tasted like a teenager made breakfast. Not the quality I thought it would be and VERY sugary. They missed the mark on quality and also on attentiveness. The host talked to a couple the entire time about their out of country credit card not processing. We don't require much, but I do feel that the host should tend to all of their guests during breakfast and reserve business matters.

We arrived late at night and the cottage we reserved had some issues that prevented us from getting a good night sleep, and we weren't satisfied with the breakfast. However, the owner graciously refunded our money. His honesty and integrity alone are worth 5 stars. I would definitely give them a second chance.

I stayed in the Freeman room in the Spy House. As luck would have it, I ended up having the whole house to myself because no other guests booked rooms in that house. It was a very unique experience getting the chance to spend the night in an infamously historic building. The entire house is beautiful, clean, and welcoming with many details to explore. The Freeman room had a gorgeous claw foot tub. Even though its style is true to its time period, modern luxury was not spared. The family who runs the B&B are incredibly sweet and accommodating. I overslept and regretfully missed breakfast so I can't comment on the food. However, it did smell delicious. There is also a hot tub for guest use in the back yard of the Spy House. I wish I had known about it earlier and packed a suit. Will definitely visit again when I'm back in town.

Tucked in a quaint neighborhood in historic downtown Albuquerque is this Bed & breakfast. We stayed in the Rosenburg Room in the Spy House for 2 nights. When you walk in the door it straightaway takes you back to simpler times. The decor is old school with little hints if updated appliances. There are circular stairs that lead to the kitchen, hardwood floors are true to when the house was built, kitchen has up to date appliances but the simple island and pantry and tile countertops bring it back to its roots. Bathroom shower has a rain faucet head so it felt like I was washing my hair in the rain! Our room was very luxurious and true to the pictures on their website. I loved their shampoo and conditioner "BeeKind". Great smell, kind of like a spa. The bed was very comfortable too so it was hard to get out of bed in the morning!!They have soda in the fridge and crackers and cookies and fruit to munch on whenever which was nice and amazing coffee in the morning!I walked away from this stay feeling extremely refreshed, relaxed and more connected with my fiancé. Such a great stay. I recommend staying two nights minimum to get the whole feel and ambiance of everything :) 5 stars! Bravo!

I called the number on the door to see if I could tour the place for a possible wedding venue. The woman who answered my call was very rude and would not offer any possibility of even staying at the place for a night or taking a look inside. She was not open to the idea of letting us rent the place for a wedding and having some of our guest stay there even though they advertise weddings and events on their website.Edited review: The owner immediately contacted us to say they were out of town and left the business phone with an answering service. I think there was a misunderstanding with the service....they just needed to let us know we could tour the place at a later date. The venue looks nice online. The owner was friendly and concerned about the poor first impression we were given. From that experience, I would look at this property again some other time.

This BnB is absolutely fabulous. Stayed in the Greenglass room which has a detached private bath with claw foot tub. If you are a fan of Arts and Crafts style bungalow home this will be a place for you. Bed was comfy with good pillows. In the morning they serve a wonderful breakfast with fresh coffee and scones. The vegetable frittata was great! You can not go wrong here. I will stay here again next time through ABQ!

Lovely rooms with all the comforts of home. Very clean and well kept historic inn. Breakfasts are tasty and they make homemade yogurt! So good! They also make all of the bathroom products in the rooms. Central location, easy to get to any of the main freeways and super close to the airport. I highly recommend trying Groves which is a 2 minute walk away for to go coffee, sweets or food. Very trendy little place with amazing homemade English muffins. Definitely worth supporting over the chain places in town. It made for a unique travel experience.
