Lived in one of their properties for 3 years and missed so much work because anytime someone needed to come on site to do a repair I was required to be at the property event after giving approval for them to enter the property and every time I would be given a 4 hour window with the service person coming at the end of the window of time and staying later than expected or coming just to say they couldn't do said repair that day and would need to come back yet anytime they wanted to do an inspection of the property they had no issues entering the property while I was not home. I left the property cleaner than when I moved in and then at move out I was give 5% of my original deposit back with an itemized list of repairs and cleaned items that were either dirty when I moved in or did not exist on the property. I would rent with any other company in the future Theresa and Dwayne run a scam of a business with terrible service for their tenants and not to leave of the hassle it is to pay rent each month no matter how you pay rent they always charge a service fee talk about a SCAM!

I've been renting a home from discovery 1 for 5 months now. I must say, they made the process easy. Any work orders submitted are dealt with quickly and efficiently. Thanks discovery 1!

I have been renting from Discovery 1 Realty since October of 2014. I just renewed for another year and couldn't be happier with them. They are very attentive when it comes to fixing any problems that we have and have someone on the phone with me in less than an hour to have someone sent out. They do their inspections twice a year which if I was the homeowner, would give me peace of mind in knowing that they truly care about and take care of their rental properties. Everyone in the office is really friendly in person and over the phone. I will continue to rent from Discovery 1 until I'm ready to buy a house on my own!

I have lived in my apartment for three and half years. The people at Discovery 1 are the greatest people to rent from! I have little issues with my place but every time I've called them they are there quickly to resolve it. I bring my rent check to them personally and they are friendly and care about how everything is. They know me by name and even though they are busy when I walk in, they never cease to talk with me. I can't say enough good things about them and I recommend them to friends and family moving to the area!

A horrible run business! They do don't take any initiative or responsibility as a business. Nothing will ever be repaired, replaced and you will be charged for any and everything possible. Do not rent or purchase insurance from this company!

We have an 8 person household and when we found out in April of 2018 the owners of the house we were renting were not going to renew our lease because they were going to sell my daughter immediately started looking for a house we could rent with enough square footage and in our price range to move into. In May we found a rental listing for a five bedroom house through Discovery 1 reality and it had a move in date of June 12. My son in law went to see the house and we immediately informed the company we were interested in starting the move in on June 12 as we had to be out of our rental on June 30th. When he went to see the house, it was carpeted upstairs and downstairs except for the kitchen, laundry room and bathrooms. He paid the deposit and we put in all the paperwork to get credit checks. We were informed on the 2nd of June that the owners wished to replace the carpets and it would be a bit later than June 12 when we could pay the first months rent and get the keys. First thing that happened is we actually did not get to get the keys until June 26th, so we were going to have to get totally moved in 4 days along with getting the current rental cleaned. We had ordered a pod and started packing a lot of the stuff we could live without in the weeks before the move, but it meant we had been without a lot of our stuff for several weeks. When we went to get the keys a lady who I assume was the owner of the company proceeded to give us a 45 minute lecture on how her company only rents our the finest properties in the finest condition and we should not expect our deposit back because it was very unlikely we would ever meet her company standards for cleanliness or maintance. We got to the house and the first thing that happened is of the 3 keys we were given only one unlocked the front door. My key went in but did not turn, and the other key didn't even fit. Stepping into the front room my son-in-law was shocked to find that the carpet had not been replaced with new carpet but instead was tiled in the whole first floor. Although the floor itself was beautiful, it was obvious that whoever had put down the tile had not taken care to make sure that the tiles were leveled. In some places there were as much as a quarter inch of height difference from on tile to another. The grout lines were not even throughout and there was a Discoloration on the tile in the dining area that looked like a bucket had somehow discolored the tiles. I attempted to scrub this area and the mark remained. It is listed on the move in sheet. You might ask why we didn't immediately walk out and tell them no way. Well, we really didn't have a choice at that late date. We were stuck. There had been nail repairs on the walls downstairs that were very obvious because the touch up paint did not match. In the rooms that were beige the paint was not quite the same color, which would never have been an issue to me if I hadn't just listened to the lecture of how we were not to attempt to do any self-repairs or retouching paint since we would never be able to do it to their satisfaction and they would charge us extra if they had to have our unprofessional repairs removed to do the job right. It was obvious that the past owners had a large screen TV mounted on the family room wall that was grey, since the repair and paint wasn't just not the same color, it wasn't even the same kind of paint. The repairs were painted with a flat grey rather than the semi-gloss on the rest of the walls. There was a half inch of dust on the ceiling fan, and the mini blinds in the downstairs were filthy dirty and some of the blinds had broken slates. We noted this on the move in checklist. Baseboards had been dusted, but they had not been cleaned. Woodwork around doors and windows where not washed. The back door had the threshold rotted out and the door was almost impossible to open. And there was an inch of tile dust on the floor of the three car garage that my son in law and granddaughter had to sweep and clean out before we could even began to start moving our furniture in. The house was not filthy, but it also was not sparkling. Or as my daughter noted on the form we turned back into Discovery 1 when we returned the move in sheet. The house actually looked like the condition and cleanliness you told us was not acceptable for when we leave. We left the house cleaner than when we got it. We were charged almost $500 for hole repair and repainting. We never put a nail in the wall. And given how lousy the paint looked when we moved in I think us paying for any painting is wrong.

This company is extremely unprofessional and violates renters' rights with no remorse. When a home is left without running water for numerous days the owner of this company does not apologize, try to resolve it, or feel like it is a dire issue that immediately needs resolution. Additionally, they will tell you that you should pay for a hotel room yourself, call you crazy for being upset that your home has no water at all, and call you poor. I would highly advise avoiding this company at all costs.

I hired Discovery 1 Realty to lease and manage my home in Albuquerque North West Heights. They were retained for over four and a half years. This October 2017 I took the home back as I planned to move into it. They did an inferior job of managing the property and the tenants complained bitterly about the service they received. I was charged for things that should have been the tenants responsibility. They use a portal system for their monthly accounting. The customer must have access to a computer and a printer to see their monthly statements and print them out. For an unknown reason I could never gain access to their portal. So I requested a mailed copy. I had to make this request repeatedly. It would appear they did not want to use their printer and/or pay for envelopes and stamps. When I went to Discovery 1 Realty to finalize my business relationship with Discovery 1, they handed me a check for the tenants security deposit and informed me that I needed to do the final walk through and determine what money to withhold from the tenants. I said I didn't know the condition of the property when the tenants moved in. I was advised to read the checklist that the leasee had filled out during the move in process. Well that check list stated that half of all the light bulbs were not there or burned out; the fireplace was a filthy mess; the carpets were badly damaged, and on and on and on. So much for managing the property. I had no idea it was in this condition. Had I been managing my property, it would never have been in this condition. While at Discovery 1 the owner did not acknowledge me in any way. Not a hello, not a goodbye, nothing. They earned ten per cent of the income from our 4.5 year relationship. I suppose she was angry that I called her out on her attempt to double bill me the last month. And finally Discovery 1 Realty advised me to put the utilities in my name, which I did. Unbeknownst to me, Discovery 1 Realty went behind my back and cancelled my name from the account. On Oct 2 all utilities were turned off. They must have gotten a chuckle out of that one. Somewhat vindictive, I'd say. I would not recommend them to anyone seeking a management company. There exist better management companies.
