Great range. Safest gun range near Albuquerque. You need to pass a safety course before you join the club.

A great little shooting range. Members-only, it'll cost you $100/year to shoot here, or you can go for a life membership. See the website for details. It's a little hard to get to, but once you're out there, you've got more than enough space to work with. Just be aware, the road is long, dusty, and washboarded. There are a lot of ranges once you get on premises, so any type of firearm you own can be practiced with here. Long guns, shot guns, pistols, you'll be OK.The clubhouse is a little spartan, but it gets the job done. Toilets (male and female), some reading material. That's about it.Got a RV? You can set up here. Rate is $25.00 per night., with power and water hook up with on site pump station.

I've been a member at Del Norte for several years now. Yes, it's a little more expensive than I'd like, but I say that about everything and I'm a senior so I catch a break. Yes, it's a bit of a drive on dusty or sometimes very muddy roads. Communications can be sketchy at times, too. But, having said that, I keep my membership for the following reasons.1) There are many ranges that offer something for everybody. Whether you're sighting in your favorite rifle or cowboy shooting your sixgun, there will be a range to accommodate you.2) I generally go on a weekday because it's very quiet and many of the ranges are free of other shooters. You can shoot at your own pace with few interruptions. 3) I find most other shooters to be friendly, safe, and gracious.4) Lastly and maybe most importantly, It is no longer safe or legal to shoot anywhere on the west mesa in Sandoval County. If caught shooting there, you can be cited, lose your ammo or your gun or even all of the above. If you shoot at Del Norte nobody will bother you.5) Sometimes I take a lunch and make a day out of it. It's beautiful there if you like the P/J desert of New Mexico. There's a great view and it's a great place for quiet contemplation.Find a member and go as a guest. Give it a try.

Not too shabby. Visited once, recommend you go with a member the first time. Nice, clean facility. It's a bit out of the way, but the drive is peaceful as long as you have a descent vehicle (4x4 recommended). Range is equipped to handle most types of firearms.

Very nice functional facility where you can go and shoot without a crowd. Has basics and meets my needs just fine. Not fancy, but it isn't supposed to be a bourgeoisie country club. Nice folks to deal with and many helpful patrons. Been going a couple of years and will keep doing so. Thanks all you volunteers.

First off, I am a Life Member of the Del Norte Club. I have been a member, in some capacity, for fourteen years. I enjoy the variety of shooting opportunities and variety of ranges at the club. That is where my appreciation of the club ends! The leadership of the club is anything but what someone would expect! The current president of the club, and the board of directors, fail to grasp the basics of leadership with regards to the club, its' volunteers and members. That is that leadership is not a position, a title or words. It is defined by actions and the example set. Last week, I found myself being harassed by a person I found was a Range Safety Officer (RSO) at Del Norte (volunteer position). He neither was wearing his position of rank nor identified himself when he approached me. I knew who he was from a previous encounter, which I had mistakenly failed to report to Del Norte Leadership. I brought this recent encounter to the attention of the Del Norte President. She knew exactly who I was speaking about, due to a pattern of complaints about this RSO. I told her that I expected action(s) to be taken, and she assured me that action(s) would happen. To the date of this posting, I have not heard a thing. For the record, I'm a retired Marine Corps Officer and current DOD/DOS Contractor. I know what right looks like on a range, and the actions by the RSO and the Del Norte President are anything but! They are in direct contravention to the Del Norte Range Rules and Member Code of Conduct. The RSO at Del Norte is an accident waiting to happen, and the Del Norte President will also be a responsible party when this occurs.

It's a mediocre field of dirt and weeds in the middle of the desert with ZERO customer service. It's pricey and they act like they're doing you a favor to let you pay for the fence around a patch in the middle of nowhere. I was a member for several years and recruited several people as well. I bailed when they started changing all kinds of rules and wouldn't even answer questions by email. They really need to learn how to show customer service and not act like they're working at the DMV.

I enjoy the drive to the DNGC and nearly every time I am there - mostly on the rifle ranges, I have the range to myself. Other members and their guests are respectful, follow the rules, and are very friendly and will help you out. I always leave the range better than I found it, so I pick up brass and any trash I find. It is mainly volunteers who maintain the ranges and target stands, so they deserve kudos for all they do. The annual membership renewal fee of $150.00 is reasonable and pays for itself by the number of times I frequent the range. With all of the various types of ranges they offer, from long-range rifle to skeet to pistol to cowboy action to archery and much more, the DNGC caters to a wide variety of outdoors enthusiasts. I have been a member for over 4 years now and it continues to be a great investment of my time and money.
