I had a couple hours to kill and had my workout clothes. I found this gym. Very clean and lots of equipment options. All I did was run my 3 miles. Plenty of treadmills with no wait. I needed a place with a shower and they have one. Bring your own towel and soap, but it was perfect for what I was looking for. Don't want to forget to mention the lady at the front desk. Super nice and very friendly. She got me in no problem. I will defiantly be back when I have extra tome on my next visit to ABQ.

I just decided to come back to Defined Fitess after many years of being away. I had a horrible customer service experience when I decided to sign back up.. I had originally wrote about 8 paragraphs of my bad experience on here but have just erased the review since I do still have to go back to this gym and still see the people that work here. Plus no one would read such a long review!Basically the sign up process took an hr to complete. The incompetent manager gave me a long spiel on membership pricing when I told him ahead of time I already had signed up with my health insurance. He was a horrible listener to my concerns. He wasted my time and in the end told me he didn't have my membership in file and that's why he was telling me all the pricing. He could have saved everyone some time by telling me this ahead of time. I showed this incompetent manager the confirmation email with a confirmation membership number and he just ignored the email. He left and came back and told me he checked that membership number when he obviously didn't. The number was about 10 numbers and he didn't write it down to put into his computer and it was obvious he couldn't have memorized the number.I had to leave and talk to my insurance company, who then fixed the issue right away. I then came back to talk to the same manager on the same day. At this point I was pushed between two different people who were answering phone calls and not making my issue a priority even though I was there first. The lady kept answering long phone calls while she was helping me. To me, good customer service would have been to put that caller on hold and finish up with my issue.If I didn't have this discount through my employer I'm not sure I would be going to this gym. We'll see what happens going forward.

So they said they were gonna open the steam room in July 2024 and after endless excuses from not having the proper screws or bolts to parts they never have, they keep the aquatic center in shambles, there's always that bucket when it rains or leaking water from the roof in the middle of the weight room, to the point that they took out the water fountains with no notices to the customers and left them without services or notices to the customer if this company was ran by osha they would be shut down, a horrible gym and they still refuse to acknowledge the issues or help the customer have a nice gym experience. Just keeps getting worse as it goes and all they say is thoughts and prayers and I'm sorry, we're working on the issue but nothing gets fixed buyer beware these clowns are an awful gym so just go elsewhere, he'll even walk around the mall or pull weeds will be a better workout than these bozos. Funny how they are still pushing for gym of the year, they should fix their problems rather than ignore the obvious

This gym is pretty nice, and all the classes available plus the aquatics area make the membership more than worth it. A lot of the machines are a bit older and rougher . Unfortunately, the gym is itself is probably the dirtiest gym I've ever been to. Floors are filthy, mats are clearly never cleaned. The locker room, toilets and showers are just disgusting, I'm freaked out every time I have to shower here. It looks like they might clean them twice a year, judging from the soap scum and general filth that is present.

I was a returning member but wanted to see the changes to the gym and pool since I went there 10+ years ago. In order to see the gym before signing up, I was required to give my phone number, email, and they needed to take my picture on their iPad. I said absolutely not! How ridiculous and intrusive. I just wanted to look around. I walked out! It occurred to me later that they were probably going to let me walk around alone. Still... ask to hold my drivers license, not create your own profile of me on your iPad.

Horrible management. I have been a member for over 30 years and in the past 5 years, i have watched it go significantly downhill. It is filthy there and just overall bad. Equipment is constantly out of order... I could go on but have other things to do.

I was a member for about 5 yrs .total. The women's locker/showers are gross. My feet turned black on bottom just walking to bench, The pool is cold ! They promise to improve but all I see are cosmetic/Paint stucco. Machines are broken, pool has a black dirt ring on tiles,been there for over a year. Water is often murky and pool breaks down very frequently. I left when they raised cost to 53 dollars a month. Am now at Chuze beautiful pool, clean throughout and 30 dollars cheaper. I voted with my feet, which are now clean.

There inability to open the gym on time has really become an issue. Good way to ruin a Saturday morning.

The place is not very clean. The equipment is not the best and is usually down for some sort of maintenance. There's usually a group of annoying young kids yelling and videoing which I don't want on... it's just not a comfortable atmosphere. Not the mention the one older lady GM is rude. Also, to cancel your membership is a pain... the month after my year ended my payment was almost double and they said "it's in your agreement" soooo don't be naive like me and trust the person signing you up. Read EVERYTHING. I have now tried to call the gym and cancel and they say I need to go in person and pay the month of May (after my contract) even when I tell them I'm across the country now. I called ABC fitness and tried giving them my card and to cancel and they say I need to go in person. It's not really possible atm so here I am with a new charge prob going to collection... I've been a member of a few gyms in my lifetime and this is probably one of the cruddiest.

The Juan Tabo location has continued to decline over the past year. Now, about 1/3 of all cardio machines are broken and not being fixed, the floors and carpets are dirtier than ever, and there are leaks all over the gym whenever it rains. It's actually pretty disgusting, and being a Defined Fitness member since they first opened, kind of tragic. The owners of Defined Fitness need to stop opening new locations and give much needed love to the older ones.
