We stopped here during our road trip in New Mexico -- my husband and I were both craving some local flavor. This family-owned joint was a great choice! First off, they were so friendly. We had the Indian taco and chile with fry bread. It felt like they were prepared with care and they were both delicious! Outdoor seating only, but it's shaded and pleasant. We loved it so much we bought a t-shirt!

Drove down from Jemez Springs to get some gas and remembered i saw this place a few days before. My wife had the fry bread with a side of powdered sugar/honey and thoroughly enjoyed it. My burger was delicious and hit the spot, at 5.50 for regular burger with green chile and cheese you cannot go wrong, the green chile was excellent, the burger came with lettuce, tomato, onion (mayo and ketchup are also options.) Service was prompt and friendly, i would rather support this family business than give my money to a chain in Bernalillo. Don't hesitate to stop!

Decided to try something new and off the beaten path. Its kind of isolated (the area). Reminded me of camping, waking up in the morning the smell of wood burrning over night, with a trace of spice, cold & quiet. I ordered the indian taco, and pretzel with cheese. Husband regular burger combo. Didnt take long to prepare. Local dogs kind of hanging around, super sweeties. I could of used salt and pepper but overall good, it was like a mexican pizza Had my fingers crossed for a homeade pretzel but oh well. Definately authentic.

Authentic Indian Food on the Pueblo! This roadside stand sells burgers, Indian tacos, and more! They have a rather limited menu, but authentic food. I got the Indian Taco. It's fry bread for a taco shell, served flat. Indian Fry bread is like a flat bread, fried so it's crispy and poofy and served warm. The taco was topped with pinto beans, lettuce, tomatoes, chiles and some meat. It was amazing! The fry bread is the best part. The burger stand is a little shack that the family that lives next door built. They run between the buildings grabbing some extra tomatoes or drinks. The bummer part was that there was no public restroom. That'd be nice for the traveler. They did have a hand sanitizer. They only have bottled drinks. The outdoor picnic tables offered a good scenic view of the pueblo's public services, as it's located right on the main drag, down the street from the the school. The service wasn't exactly friendly, they kept to themselves during the 10 minutes for the food to be prepared. They worked hard getting the food out fast and made sure it was stacked high with toppings, without a word. That's okay- I was quiet while eating it, since it was so good. It's not exactly fancy, everything is served on disposable plates, and you only get a tiny paper napkin.

Wow, fast food joint on the rez. So one of my tribes has a small fast food restaurant. The menu is limited to burger variations and some traditional Jemez Pueblo/Walatowa items. Call ahead if you don't want to wait 10 minutes or more. If you don't mind the ant colony fortifying the picnic tables out front, it could be nice to snack under the trees in the yard. Service is not their forte. We got stern gatekeeper at the service window because we knocked and didn't ring the bell. The young woman was not very polite or good at customer service. We ordered Pueblo burgers, simple burger between two small fried breads for buns. If I didn't feel like driving up to Jemez Springs, this place will do until you can get a really good burger. I recommend giving this one a pass.

We look forward to stopping here every time we go hiking in Jemez. The food is always amazing and the best we ever had fried bread. This last time, I think they gave us the wrong order, unless they started putting Red Chile in their taco meat. I'm more of a green chile fan but it was still really good! Their Pueblo burger was awesome too! I saw their prices went up again since last year, not by too much, but it's worth it because they're a family favorite.

It looks like a dive, but the food was great. We had the Indian Taco. Fresh, hot and reasonably priced.

The pueblo burger is not to be missed. The beef is so succulent that many $20 burgers at expensive big city restaurants cannot match. The other ingredients are perfectly balanced, not so much that you loss the beef but not so little that you wonder where the veggies are. The bun made of fried bread instead of normal burger buns makes this burger one of the best I've ever had. It adds a unique aroma and flavor. The 5 star rating is not an exaggeration. It must be put into perspective that this is a road side food stand in a pueblo. They sell food prepared with heart and not pretty decor. Go for the food.
