I'm going to send some pandemic appreciation to a CrossFit gym I honestly haven't gotten to know very well, yet. When our neighborhood studio shut down, we toured everything in our zip code, taking free introductory classes, and to this day our experience at CrossFit Petroglyph was the most enjoyable and memorable. We ended up meeting two of the instructors, Scott and Belinda, part of a class of just eight or so people. Scott was super accommodating and brought us into the fold on a whim. It wasn't a great day for beginners to drop in, but we did our best, and Scott corrected our form throughout. Nine months into a pandemic, we're not planning to return to a gym anytime soon, but when that day comes, we'll definitely consider Petroglyph. A little while back we called and learned they'd taken some precautions, keeping the air flowing, spacing and sanitizing constantly, so if you're comfortable with that situation and you're looking for an exercise routine that carefully tracks your lifelong progress, this is a good spot to go get your personal gun show.

This is the most welcoming CF gym I have ever been to! I am always so nervous when I need to drop in at other gyms but this gym is filled with skilled / welcoming coaches and all the other participants treat you like you've been going for years. I can't wait to come back!

This place is a best kept secret when it comes to gyms on the west side of Albuquerque. The owners and coaches go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable, give you great direction and training and have a super fun workout! It really does feel like a little family because everyone helps each other and cheers each other on. The workouts are challenging and always changing, so you stay interested and always have different ways to test yourself. All levels of fitness are welcomed and can succeed. The gym is super clean and has really nice equipment. Super easy access right off Paseo del Norte too.

What a great box. We were there for a work out and then the 20.1 Open. Scott was our coach and very driven. A must stop! Shirts rock too. We were family the second we walked through the door.

This is in reference to the running group section of the gym. I have not been running for all that long - maybe 2 or 3 years and had never thought much about how to do it. In the few weeks with Belinda, I learned more about running then in those couple years. The method she showed us increased my speed, endourance, and reduced the possibility for injuries. The running was supplimented with solid workouts to balance strenght and speed. It was well structured and truely enjoyable. Thank you for this experiance and training Belinda!

This review is long overdue! If you are looking to try crossfit but are intimidated or nervous (like I was after too many weeks of planting my butt on the couch after work)...come give Tory and Keli at petroglyph a try! They are a motivating, comfortable, and SAFE environment ... And you get a great new gym family to go with it. Everyone cheers everyone else on and, some days just having that little but extra can really make the difference. I look at it like personal training everyday without the cost. Family, fun, fitness , and results!!! Perfect location for us Westsiders!!!!!Come play!!!

I love this gym and it has been my fitness home for the last 2.5 years. Here's why: Great community - family oriented, friendly folks at all levels and walks of life. Great coaches - down to earth, friendly and motivating; extremely knowledgeable in olympic lifts, gymnastics, mobility, and nutrition. Great facility - all the equipment you could ever need laid out in the most efficient manner. This gym is a good fit whether you're just starting out or you've been at it a while.

So, I am an average athlete. Typical stuff in the gym benchpress, pull-ups, curls. I came to this CrossFit not quite knowing what to expect. They started off the class with some mild stretching. We did a bit of mobility. From there we moved into some kettle bells and some rubber band work. The rubber band work prove challenging as I was never very strong in my hamstrings. And then, death by wall ball. This was my first time doing this many wall balls. For those of you that are not familiar with wall balls, you take a ball and throw it at a wall. It seems simple enough however after the first four minutes of this you suddenly noticed there's not enough oxygen in the room to feed your body. The instructors and the classmates were super supportive as I finished my 10 minutes of death by Wal balls. After resembling a beached fish, I went on to join their stretching cooldown. They gave me a T-shirt and told me not to drink too much rita's tonight and if I do make sure to put ice in it so I would be more hydrated. Overall, it was a very fun, enjoyable, challenging, and humbling class. Would recommend it to anyone on the Westside who's looking to have a good fun workout.
