This is actually called City View Park. It doesn't have running trails or hiking areas. It has a playground and a huge field that you can play soccer on or run around on. A great place to bring your kids or take a walk with you pups. It's a neighborhood park!So to those reviewers who have said there are great trails at this park, it's not true!!! There IS a trail area nearby, but it's right near the mountains and about a 2 minute drive from the park!

How can you go wrong here? You park within 20 feet or so of the trail heads and ... Boom, off you go! Endless miles & miles of hiking (bring water, hydrate). I do have a bone to pick with the mountain bikers though: The trails belong to the hikers just as much as they do you. So when approaching them, yes clearly sound off, but then slow down huh? I know you've got your groove on & all, but safety first right? Now the key here is to actually get out here & hike more often! I know that's on my list! Give it a go guys, I know you'll like it.

Enjoy the free public parks in Albuquerque. This park seems popular for pet owners, extreme bike riders, joggers, and leisurely strollers. I see Joshua trees and other varieties of cacti. The weather is usually nice, sunny, and blue skies. When it is windy, rainy, and there's thunderstorms, which happens in occasionally, stay at home. Careful of the cactus thorns and I see bear scats once in a while. Climb uphill and make it a goal to reach the top of Sandia mountains and don't forget to hydrate. I see people with pets, kids, babies in the strollers, bikes, and with their dates. Probably the ultimate cheap date unless you have to eat in the restaurant after working up an appetite from the exercise.

Really nice hiking and running trails. I definitely feel safe here when I go run compared to other trails in the area. It's easy to access and parking close helps as well. The lookouts are great and it's the start of the trails that will take you up to the peak.
