Chocolate En La Plaza

I was lucky enough to find this wonderful store on yelp.My friend took the last mint and chip ice cream from the cart in the park so i went on a search to find ice cream nearby. I was so lucky this place popped up.It is in the back left corner of this shopping center. You walk in and are quickly greeted by the wonderful couple working. They even offered us samples as soon as we got inside. We even got to meet their adorable children. The store is adorable, and the decorations and cute.But let's talk about the chocolate!The first thing I noticed was the WHITE CHOCOLATE! So I know everyone loves milk and dark chocolate, you do you, but my favorite by far is white chocolate. They have artisan white chocolate. This wonderful white chocolate bark, this fruit dipped in white chocolate. I fell in love with the white chocolate, plain, nothing else added, just straight deliciousness.I could go on for days about how amazing this white chocolate is!I was happy to get ice cream, this was still my original goal, a lavender lemonade and a wonderful bag of white chocolate. I am so sad to say that my bag only made it with me to the airport because I finished it waiting for my flight.I truly wish they were much closer to me I would go all the time. So when they eventually have a store in California I will be all over it!If you are ever in Santa Fe, you have to check out this wonderful shop!I hear they even opened up a store in Albuquerque, if they would have been there while I was in Albuquerque for the conference, my wallet would have been in trouble.Seriously though check out their white chocolate, and their other chocolates as well.

I am not a big fan of this chocolate shop.  Three of us finished our tasty lunch at the soup bun restaurant across the hall. We thought a little piece of chocolate after our meal would be a nice treat so we went over to choose something delectable.  Visually, the chocolates looked good.  If the prices were posted, I didn't see them, so I asked.  I don't remember the exact quote but I think the employee said $4-something per pound.  Ok, but just as I'm not good at guessing  people's ages, nor could I begin to guess the weight of one piece of chocolate. The employee could have been more helpful and let me know the average price a piece would cost. She didn't. I spotted the truffles in the display case behind me.  When we're somewhere with a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, we splurge on truffles so we decided to do the same here.  The employee informed me as she was putting them in a bag that they were not priced by the pound, they were $5 each.  There is no Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in Santa Fe (that I know of) but at the one on  the plaza in Taos, truffles are $3.75 each. I think they are bigger and I know for certain they are better.  I don't expect to go to this chocolate shop again.

Chocolate made from the actual cocoa beans another world in taste texture quality we regretted not purchasing more but we will definitely be back Thank You for creating delicacy's such as this! Thank You!

Temps in the 30's today, perfect opportunity to try this shop's hot chocolate. I *loved* the spice in my "Tribal," and it was beautifully prepared. Unlike other reviewers, I did not find the prices out of line for an artisan beverage - which often reflect the quality of the ingredients (in this case, house-roasted cocoa beans and some really thick whipped cream, plus ground cinnamon and red chile powder). My only suggestion would be to serve the chocolate at a higher temperature, otherwise I was completely happy with my experience.

Very expensive even with the New Mexico resident discount seem like it was way overpriced with mediocre qualityWould've been better off going next door to the five and dime and buying a zero candy bar

HORRIBLE... STAY AWAY ! everything looks great but the prices are unbelievable 6 pieces of chocolate for $58 and it was stale This woman is gauging. I put in a complaint to the BBB.BUYER BEWARE

Terrible, stale tasting chocolate. I wasted $20 on four tasteless truffles. Depressing.

Absolutely terrible. Spent over $20 on two pieces tiny pieces of chocolate bark. They were all together maybe the size of one Hershey bar. One piece was old, stale, inedible. I feel stupid buying it because it clearly looked all pasty and old. Probably had been in the case for a looooong time. I really should have questioned the price but i was just assuming it would be amazing. Stupid tourist. Never again. Avoid this place. Check out Kakawa instead.

The service at Chocolate En La Plaza was adequate. The ambiance was that of tiny cozy shop. However, the Chocolate candy was not worth the price. The dark chocolate tasted like cocoa powder and just as gritty. The milk chocolate bark with peanuts had no chocolate flavor at all just peanut flavor. The price was ridiculously high. Just beware what you are purchasing and continuely ask how much each piece of candy costs

A waste of money. Tastes as though it is made with low quality ingredients at exuberant prices. I'd rather have a Hershey bar, as it would be more palatable.
